9-13C Armenian monastery. Elegantly designed cross-stones sourounding cementary, like in Noratus.
A beautiful church. Dont confuse it with similar named church Makaravank which is located in Tavush
There is an old cemetery with incredible khachkars and tombstones
I adore this place!!A small, cozy one.. The altar of the church is very unique... There is a wooden building on the altar. things like this are not common in Armenia...If the church is close, you can ask the villager who lives next door to open its gates for you.
The Armenian monastery of the X-XIII centuries. The monastery is well preserved and is an active center for believers. At one time, there was a school at the church, and in the vicinity - a vast village, which collapsed and eventually disappeared due to landslide or other natural phenomena. In the early 1980s, a partial restoration of the monastery buildings was made. Currently, due to the sharp activation of landslide processes, the monastery is in danger of complete destruction.
One of the unpopular places. We walked from Tsaghkadzor. The temple is usually closed, but the local grandfather gave us the key and we got inside. They close because dogs and other animals enter inside
