MCKV Institute of Engineering (MCKVIE) is an engineering college founded in 1999, affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology. NAAC Accredited A institute, Affiliated with AICTE. From this year onwards, it has become an autonomous institute under MAKAUT. College life is nice but Basic Science department do pressurise students as if theyre school kids. Practical Laboratories are well equipped but dont compare it with present innovations. Good Placements are only for star kids and very few core companies come to this college for campus interview. Overall, it is a nice institute to pursue with your B.TECH, MCA & MBA degrees.

The once prestigious private engineering institute of west bengal has declined in standards in recent times. Though it is still considered among top 10 private engineering colleges under WBUT. It is situated in a congested and dusty area. Though the college campus is undoubtedly very well maintained. It is the only institute in the north east region of India that has a reputable Automobile Engineering stream. Though the placement rate is far from 100% the institute manages to place most of the students and all its seats get filled while counselling. There has been a recent upgrade to the college canteen, which was much needed. The campus provides WiFi in certain areas. There is a basketball court and a decent sized common room with carom boards and table tennis boards. Also there is a sufficiently equipped gym.

As I once was a student Of MCKVIE ,i will recommend not to admit in this college. MCKVIE was one of the Top Private Engineering College under WBUT till 2008. But not Now... Most of the good teachers already left college.. and Placement is very bad since 2012 pass out batch.. The main problem of this college is owner and his politics about the college.. every year they open new stream but no sign of placements and there is no adequate faculty for those newly added streams.

I was a student of MCKVIE, I joined this college for better placements in department of MCA,but it was my biggest mistake in life.Hopeless,totally hopeless campusing arrangement,moreover few years back they arranged a fake campusing in the premise.Such a disgraceful and embarrassing incident,highlighted in news too.These people are just running a business.MCKVIE is just has now become a business organization and nothing more than that.So guys beware,before taking admission,check and recheck,dont get confused seeing the well designed paid advertisements in newspaper,be careful,its your future and totally upto youI would say that to know about any institution ask to the students who are passouts.Particularly placement cell is worst.
