Iiest shibpur is also known as BESU(bengal engineering and science University).it is the best Eng clg in india.even it better with almost nits and few iits.its nirf ranking us 21st(2020).its is also known as civil engineering clg.its.placement is quite decent.but in 2020 IIEST shibpur is change into NIT.

Its a good institute having beautiful campus. I have spent my 5 beautiful years here. Wonderful professors are there. The institute has many hostels, a swimming pool, two big play grounds. The institute has own hospital and 3 separate banks in the campus!

It is situated in Howrah near the 2nd bridge. It is a 3 storeys building on one basement. One can find pantaloons, Bigbazar, reliance trentz, max and showrooms of montey Carlos, United color of benton, mannyabar, jokey etc. There is a cinema Hall (PVR). In the basement there are playgrounds for children and in the top floor there is a food court where you can find KFC, Subway, MacDonald, pitzza Haat, wow momo etc and some set up of indoor games...

Second oldest engineering college in India after IIT Roorkee established in 1856. Has a very rich heritage. It is one of the top ranked engineering institutions in West Bengal. It got its well deserving INI tag in 2014 and has been doing very good there onwards. It has all kinds of facilities from libraries, swimming pool, gymnasium to all well equipped labs and everything a student needs.

The best school of Howrah district, I also have read here in my childhood, there are two buildings in this school. Teachers are really eminent and also friendly. The headmaster of the school is respected sir SUBHASH DUTTA, who is the best headmaster of whole Howrah district. I just entered this college, but I have completed two semesters here and the environment is as in a college should be. You will find peace in the campus, fun in the hostels and sleep in the classrooms(joke). The faculty is good gives the vibe of a strict study routine like some high school. But they are openminded and cooperative.

Its a nice experience I had. I visited the place during my summer internship. The mentors work hard to teach you and get the best of you. You also get holidays on Saturday and Sunday. The hostels are good and lab facilities are awesome! Indeed it is one of the premiere institute in India! It currently ranks 19th for Engineering all over India.

My life

Studied (1975-80) in the college (Bengal Engineering College, then); an old reputed but emerging from the bad days of the 6os. The college had old but functioning infrastructures and good teaching staff. Visited the place two more times when it was deemed university and IIEST. Premises need good maintenance and face uplift. Downing hall, where we stayed in ist year was in pathetic conditions. A potential place that needs some investment and good management.

The campus is in horrible state. There are tall grasses everywhere. It seems that the directors are not at all taking any interest in the cosmetic scenery which albeit is the easiest part, leave aside the standards of education here. The student count is reportedly dwindling every year but the leadership is non chalant! What a shame!!

Certainly the atmosphere is very green and clean not so much noise and surrounding are such that u ll fall in love with this college. So I would suggest do take admission before clearing all the facts regarding teaching and faculty

This is the second oldest college in India , with one the finest research work.The college is around 150 arces.The institute has a gymnasium, swimming pool, two grass grounds one for football and other for cricket.Its has probably the best faculty in India specially for department of mining engineering.The college had been platform for many great people and also various famous engineers.It would be lot helpful for student aspiring to do research.The entrance process is by jee main.I would say this is one the best college in India

One of the oldest engineering institutes of this country. Recently, it has been upgraded to an Institute of National Important making it at par with the NITs of the country. However, syllabus and lab facilities are a bit outdated and has to be improved in order to further enhance the status of the institute.

IIEST is a moderately good college with a reasonable infrastructure. But yes, a more friendly behavior from the staff is needed since a university should be for the students. Our college campus lacks a gd library which is open for 24*7. It should have a good computer center with access to websites of good, internationally recognized journals. It should also have better playgrounds. The engineering faculty is quite OK, but certainly, more industry exposure and practical knowledge-based learning is needed. We are mainly taught every subject theoretically and we hardly know what happens in reality.Industry visits are extremely important. College life for me was not so pleasing. Though mostly I am responsible for it. But yes, the hostels should have better atmosphere, better bathrooms, indoor games. There should be cultural fests, interactive sessions with students and teachers of other universities, seminars on interesting topics. I am not particularly concerned about placement but as far as my knowledge is concerned, placement scenario is not so good. I hope it will improve in the upcoming years. College professors are good in general but yes, some of the could have taught in a better, more interesting manner but again, this is common for every college in India. Yes, recently the student intake has increased and the college has become a little moe crowded but its ok ! In terms of mess fees, tuition fees my college is definitely affordable to a middle-class family.
