Very very poor quality of service. Room look very bad and under maintained...
This place is awesome, rooms are well ,breakfast was best and the best thing is You can keep outside food in the hotel room, view is the best ,hotel are so many things historical love this place❤
The only thing that could possibly help this Hotels rating is the price. The rooms are heavily dated, non renovated and show lack of basic maintenance. The security guards are overtly aggressive; checking room keys and check in cards, the staff and concierge not nice and under qualified, while operating with unnecessary bureaucratic complication. I can only recommend this hotel for a cheap one or two night crash, nothing more
Stayed there for the world cup. Staff wasnt friendly at all and the rooms are a joke. Oh, and if you ask the front desk for a taxi to the airport, they will overcharge you in order to get a kick back from the driver. Stay there only if you need to save money.
A very old hotel, but well maintained. A huge one actually. But the rooms are old. Air conditioning is weak. Not a place to stay during summer. We stayed here for 2 weeks. Location is good and has almost all the tourist spots close by.
This is qualitative and organised timetraveler straight to USSR. Cozy atmosphere of great Soviet times and movies. The Hotel is creating feeling of somethinggreat and majestic.True *** service. But this is authentic threestars, which is more interesting than any standard worldwide brand with four or five stars.
One of the worse hotels i have seen in my 27 years of international travel. Absolutely a big No to stay!Pathetic servicesSuper expensive Bar and RestaurantsOnly Russian foodPoor Quality beds, old mattress, never changed..or repaired,Stinking CorridorBad breakfast, with no good cofee!
I stayed in Kosmos in 2008 it was such a lovely experience ...yet biggest issue in whole Russia is they dont compromise on language which makes it bit harder for people to communicate
Loved the large views, nothing like Australia. The Staff was amazing. But I cant give this a 5 star because my room had a distinct smell...
As a fan of the night watch movies I just had to stay here, service was (for Moscow) excellent, suite was clean & spacious, and you meet the most interesting people at the bar. As I was leaving late the next day I was able to extend check-out for a very reasonable price.
Soviet Style old hotel with a huge lobby and soviet style rooms with nice views, great location
Although the location of the hotel is very good, the behavior of some officers and the methods of controlling the customers are very uncomfortable. The officers waiting in front of the elevators examine your hotel card every time you come to the elevator in a manner that is not polite at all. Five times some days. Even the stance in front of the elevator made me feel like a prisoner in jail.I had a hard time understanding the reason for this attitude and need. The officers waiting at the entrance of the restaurant asked the hotel card in the same rude manner and their examinations ended our breakfast appetite. Moreover, they want you to take your jacket off before you sit down in that cold weather. So shouldnt it be necessary to heat the hotel first?Reception staff are very kind and smiling. This alone has been a source of comfort for us. A shame to this hotel from the symbolic structures of the Soviet period. It was amazing when I stayed 14 years ago.
Soviet terrible service, at first I spent around 20 minutes to check it because you manually have write passport data despite they have a copy, after that we can’t just order food to your door like literally any other hotel in Moscow and the last no single stuff member ever smiled. One thing restore Soviet vibe for fun -another just do bad job.update: I put 3 starts because nevertheless I got free room upgrade.
I was woken up at 8.36 am because of the drilling.I called the front desk and the manager Kirill told me exactly this:I am on the front desk. I cant hear no drilling.I went down on the elevator (it took some time, also only 2 out of 4 would work, it was 1 when I moved in)The Alena called someone...they said it will stop and I can go rest. As soon as I went into bed, I heared a hammer. This time I went down by the fire stairs. Hhaha I went all around the hotel. When I reached Alena made another phone call and told me exactly this:they need to fix the toilet, it will take no more than 20 minutesWell, I was taken from bed and made to come down 2 timed and the problem is not solved and they, in my opinion, were not even trying to solve it. I wonder how in the worled would the fixing guys start the work at 8 am.
5 star for its location, and beautiful construction
Weak internet connection in rooms, Language barrier, No customer care attitude, room service only from 9 am to 9 pm. Very old room interior, Old beds and old mattresses.
Good for a cheap price
Excellent hotel to stay
Nice place
Good hotel, near Vdnkh Part and some arabic resturants around
Love it!
There was literally no air in the room and at the corridor. It was not hot outside but I had to sleep with an opened window to breathe. The front of the building and its lobby look nice, but the room was old in a bad way. It looks like nothing was changed after 1980s. Im ok with that, but the lack of oxygen is a really bad sign. And its unpleasant to show your card to unfriendly security guards each time you take an elevator.
Super huge hotel with 2xxx rooms and it was a city by itself. It had all the amenities for a great hotel and was a good place to stay.Proximity to the metro was good and the collection of restaurants is great. The breakfast was nice with a wide spread of dishes. The hotel was pretty mechanical and felt like a conveyor line.Is a good land mark to invite people for meetings and is good value for money.
The hotel is somewhat old but mostly renovated. Its a great venue for business events, big fairs and forums. Parking is 150 rubles per hour.
Smelly rooms and mehhh. All in all a big yikes
Clean and staffs are nice .
The big hotel with too much rooms. Very organized place with security on very high level. Very poor internet connection. Very very crowd breakfast area. A lot of restaurants in the lobby. The hotel has 25 floors, so the view from the room on the higher floors is breath taking.
Pretty good hotel for its price. Beautiful view from the high floors. Good location. But it’s not perfectly clean rooms.
Mattress was very hard! Cracks and water damage in wall. No minibar. Filthy. Architecture is not great. View is good though. You can really feel that this was built in the Soviet Union. In my opinion it doesn’t deserve 3 stars. Technology is way behind. There was also no light in the ceiling. Also very very simple
Good location... Near to Metro.. Just walking and cross the road to go to beautiful garden...easy to shopping souvenir. No kettle in the room because hot water provided in corridor.
Almost visit it 4 times.. Nice place.. Best view (winter time) great service.
Interesting. Crowded with happy faces. Large if not huge.my confirmed Early checkin had a small issue because they didnt have rooms but they solved it 2 hours later.Room clean but looks old and tired. Facade seems impressive but some stairs were cracked which showed some disinterest in maintenance.Employees firm but polite and dont smile a lot.Far from downtown but if you get the hang of the Metro all of Moscow is within your grasp. The huge lobby full of not so interesting Cafes or bars.Recommended if youre on a budget and have good offer.I didnt know much but wouldnt mind use it again at all from my first day experience so far.
An ancient very large hotel which has been renovated several times and has a perfect view of Moscow city. The park and space museum in front of it are nice. Need to walk for some minutes to get to the nearest Subway station.
Over hyped hotel. Rooms are not great even if you go for the supirior rooms. The reception hall looks royal but that is where it ends. Average rooms, do not go in with huge expectations, else disappointment will happen later.
Staff helpful. Very good security. Hotel rooms clean and comfortable with fantastic views over the park. Very quiet, dispite being on a busy road. Metro 5 minutes away. Cosmonaut Museum 10 minutes away. Reasonably priced. Only disappointment are the huge queues at the reception area, which often block access across the lobby area.
I got a nice and clean room for a fair price. Hotel is very near to the metro station. The food at the restaurant is good. The fitness center is great but it costs extra. Security has been enhanced.
Stayed here in the 90s.
Stay here if you love the Russian 80s! Everything about this hotel screams 1980, from the highly temperamental lifts to the old decor and the customers themselves. The rooms themselves are generally fairly spacious, though they could do with a, revamp. The hotel is incredibly warm throughout the day and night and rooms do not feature air conditioning. The food in the buffet restaurant was an experience in itself Different food options are available each day with a considerable selection though the same salad and sides were on offer for every breakfast and dinner session. The staff in the hotel were friendly and generally easy to contact in such a big hotel.
Very good location and price for Moscow hotel. 2 minuts walking to metro. A little bit old and they sure have to figure out their reception service. They have not enought people on reception for such a huge hotel. As a resul always lots of people waiting in line. Very good breakfast.
Best services. But the rooms dont come with toothbrushes. The hotel sells them thoug. This hotel is close to a beautiful park
The Hotel Cosmos is perhaps the most memorable hotel in Moscow. Its enormous dimensions, architectural austerity, combination of glass and metal make a special impression. 1777 rooms of different categories -One of the biggest hotels in Europe and RussiaBreathtaking panoramic views from the roomsA wide range of facilities within one building.Ravikumar-POPE Professional Acoustics Limited-India.
Place is filthy and should not operate in such conditions. I checked in and had to ask for my return. The agent at the front office was very professional and understands situations.
HOTEL: Not up to a US 3-star hotel. The staff do not really pay attention to guests. You will have to stay in line for 1.5 hours to check in. The check-in process is slow and painful. You go through security X ray every time you have a bag. You have to pay extra for another guest in the same room even if you pay for the whole room.ROOM: The mattresses in the room are really hard, were killing my back. It was a security threat in September when I stayed - they evacuated the whole hotel and people were staying on the street for 3-4 hours. The TVs in the room are very small and outdated. The AC is non-existent since 1970s I guess. They need a lot to improve!!!
Nice
Good value for money here, rooms are quite dated but still ok. Massive choice of food for breakfast. Very busy places lots of tour groups
You gonna love it if you prefer old fasion style
Rooms are shabby. Carpets are not clean. Air conditioning system is below par. Foods are good. Most annoying part is you will have to carry your luggages three stories upstairs through staircase. No elevator service for that.
A very large hotel and always busy. They need to have more check in counters to make it easy for residents. Choice of restaurants and roximity to vdnkh makes it desirable. Interiors need an urgent upgrade.
You want to enjoy the taste of the Soviet eighties?!Here you can do it certainly! This was definitely one of the worlds marvels at the time when it was built. Now all call for reconstruction, but not to critical.Hotel is clean, tidy, staff are polite and correct, buffets, food quality -good enough .
Location is good but most of the rooms required repairs
Not very clean interior. looks dirty. not cleaned every day. towels are changed daily. no free toiletries as shampoo shower gel are given. the all purpose cleanser is not refilld daily. good variety and abandon food in buffet.
A nice Hotel located in front of Vdnkh park in the Northern part of Moscow it is right next to the metro station. There is a Cosmos Museum right next to the Cosmos Hotel it was built in 1979 to commemorate the Soviet cosmonauts
Little but older hotel with nice location, clean...
They have modernised it at all. Old squeaky beds. Buffet is btw very nice.
Used to be my FAVORITE place, but no more.I agree with KhaLLaWaY Guitar ... the entertainment and fun is gone here. I know that working girls arent for everyone, but there used to be about a dozen that sat quietly around the bar downstairs. These were some really interesting people and they were easy to talk to , especially on a cold winter night in Moscow.Where did they go?, I asked the bartender. He would give even a hint. He said there was no trouble or anything, just stopped having them come there. The club downstairs is pathetic too.The only thing that saves this place is the breakfast, but honestly, for that, there are many better options around Moscow; it isnt worth the 4000 ruble price tag. Bring back the entertainers ...
Refurbished rooms are ok. Make sure you have one. Breakfast is crowded. Reception a bit on the slow side, requesting an invoice took more then 10 minutes. Not recommended for business. Good gym and health services.
The restaurant on the 25th floor its nice and comfortable.
Its historical and beautiful but the air conditioner is central
The hotel is terrible, first of all the pictures in the booking its not real, the hotel inside the rooms are miserable, the rooms hasnt got lights , there is only one lamp nothing else! Thats it ridiculous! Also the rooms are very dirty and the bathroom is aufull, in addition the stuff are roud and nobody speak English language.last but not list we had booked room with breakfast . The breakfast is open at 7.00 and close at 10.30 however we went at 9.30 and the breakfast was closed.
The hotel is amazing , the lounge is cozy and very big , but the hotell rooms look kind of communist, but they are clean and vintage . We had breakfast , meal amd dinner at the hotel , at tglhe kalinkaya restaurant and the food was tasty. It is a swedish bufet at each meal , and you can choose what to eat , and its in all you can eat and drink style. Security in this hotel is great , so you feel safe all the time. You can even buy souvenirs in the hotel lounge , you can change euros and dollars tu rubles and use ATMs.
Pizza Diabolo was just the thing for someone homesick for a lite Italian style cuisine
Good hotel with reasonable prices and nearby metro and exhibition center. I would expect little bit high level of quality of toilet accessories.
Pleasant experience staying at COSMOS.... AMBIENCE REALLY GOOD
This hotel has more than 1700 rooms and there was only one desk for checking in the day I came. I took me more than one hour to check in and no one seemed to really care. People in the queue were close to riot. Now that I have seen the very nice view on VDNH, I will never return in this hotel againIf you plan to stay in that hotel, your first quality has to be: patience
Old style soviet hotel. VERY crowdy, reception is overworked by constant incoming of groups. Had to wait more than an hour just to check in.On the other hand, rooms are clean and spacey. Breakfast is ok, filling and has a few options.Good location, five minutes from subway station, a few parks around to spend some time. Botanical garden as well is easily reached by foot.
Rooms a little bit outdated, but staff is pretty good, really friendly and up to date with cleaning. Love the food. Buffet restaurant is excellent.
Staff courtesy could have been a lot better.. no common sense with the security ppl and some ppl at the reception seem to get very unfriendly when they get a little more work ..
If u wanna get back in USSR then go ahead and book that one. I was staying in kinda business category 4 stars room which was ridiculously terrible. Definitely not recommended.
The hotel is located close to the metro and within walking distance of interesting tourism spots. Also located near express way as well making it easy to get around with any transportation.Hotel is resort style with lots of restaurants and shops on premises. Restaurants we attended had good value and quality was great.Staff was pleasant and easy to work with.Value for room during event like world cup was acceptable.Breakfast buffet was convenient and of good quality.Hotel needs some renovations, there was nothing unsafe or unhealthy, but the condition of some of the areas needed refurbishment. The room we had was a suite. Furniture was old, bathroom needs a fresh coat of paint, and, for us, the better black out curtains (important when the sun is out for almost 20 hours) werr unfortunately in the room without the bed in it. Room was warm but not especially out of line of other European locations. In general, the hotel was an ok stay but we were hoping for more from a hotel with so much history, a great location, and so much potential.
Very oldest hotel.....good stay
Extremely expensive while the rooms are extremely bad and ancient (bad ancient). The beds are bad to the point you would rather sleep on the floor. Dont be fooled that because its expensive it will provide high quality.
Our room at the 25th floor was clean and nice. breakfast was good.
Disgusting hotel!!! Never choose it!! It’ll take for you at least 40 min to check in. Rooms are very old, bathroom is with mold, curtains are dirty. Wi-fi is terrible - it’s always re-connecting on my phone and doesn’t want to connect to my MacBook. I’ve been spending 30 minutes every day to connect to the wi-fi.... Food for breakfast is the same every day, not good quality. Restaurant is always crowded with people, so that you can hardly find free table.... If you have an opportunity, please, book another hotel.
Huge hotel, excellent place in Moscow near VDNH park and metro stationI think that hotel have a little problem with lift in rush hour (morning till 12am)Stairs are not in use, you must always wait for a lift.
It could be much better. Its badly in need of renovation. HVAC was particularly weak making sleeping uncomfortable.
Great Place
Old fashioned place. Theres what to say about furniture and cleansing. Breakfast moderate. The positive side - close to metro-station and sublime park of VDNH
Top hotel with many labels, large lobby, restaurants, souvenir shops, exchange offices, friendly staff, security, large parking, comfortable rooms, room service, etc.Impressive
Amazing breakfast and service.
Pros:* Very good city view, enough elevator capacity - you dont need to wait,* quick service response,* rich breakfast,* entertainment facilities inside hotelCons:* Old hotel with old fashioned style from decoration to furnitures* When I checked-in and enter the room, there are no drinking water, hair dryer and shampoo in the room. You need to call and ask for them (they replenish the shampoo next day BTW)
Very expensive and very dirty. Beds are terrible. Totally not recommended
Hotel is very poor. Why why 50 rubles cost for locker room. Why are not AC fans in any Room. And no pick-up baggage on any room. I was visited 8 places( Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bali, Jakarta, Bangkok, koh Samui, Phuket, Pattaya). Then all(like AC Fans, Baggage) of working in any hotel.
Busy and big hotel but interior is not upscaled. Security is tight but their behaviour annoying and disturbing
Very good location, Excellent service,Good facilities
Huge hotel..... With nearby BANX metro station and park and museum in front of it across the street is breathtaking, hotel has all eminities, security check is up to the mark, lift is fast, nice rooms as per your requirement, staying at this hotel was an experience.
No pillow options. No guest relations. They cant gurantee twin bed. Just dont go.
Very nice hotel. Old one but looks nice and the place is good where you can reach to metro station and exhibition center easily.
Was the good place ... in the past. Worst places to eat. In the rooftop restaurant they thought that ceviche is a salad with a salmon
