It is perhaps the largest playground in entire Howrah. It has witnessed much development in recent times. Previously the area became engulfed by darkness after the sunset. But at present the scenario has totally changed. The entire area is illuminated by nice white lights which have not only added to the beauty of the place but also made it very convenient for the people living in and around the place. In addition to this the footpaths are paved with nice colourful tiles all over the place. Many small flower plants are also added on both sides of the road to enhance the gracefulness of the place.A helipad is also built on the north which is frequently used by the C.M and other V.I.Ps. Beautification work of the surrounding area is still under process. A proposed artificial lake is also to be created for boating purposes. Once it is completed the look and the feel of the area will greatly enhance for sure.Its really a great place for the lovers of sports n games. Besides it is also a favourite destination for hundreds of morning walkers and joggers. Many people also come and sit on the marble benches just to enjoy the fresh morning air. Many aged persons also come and enjoy a friendly chitchat with each other.The playground is also the home to a number of sports organisations such as cricket, football, hockey, basketball, body building etc. And that is why the ground is always full of sports related people throughout the year. Many sports events are organized here every year by local clubs as well as different sports organisations.

This place remain same as 20 years earlier. Some will say no development. I will say thanks for maintaining the by gone era.

There is nothing like howrah outdoor stadium it was a very large field where all the local boys play games. There are some different clubs and sports training centre is also there since the very beginning of urban development of the district. Now a huge government helipad has taken place in straf of playground. Boys cant have enough space to play and the clubs are also being shut by some external pressure other than finance and membership. Though the place has lost its glory still its a beautiful place to visit and have some quality time.

Baji bazar (temporary fire cracker stalls) has been organised during diwali. Pricing is well within the reach of common people. The varity is also good. Bargaining is the only way to get a good deal. You may park your vechile there at your own risk without any charge.
