Thank you Micro Center for doing the right thing.I had an arduous experience at first that had cost me travel time and disappointment with your establishment. I was patient and called the headquarters that ultimately led me to cross paths with Mr. Michael Graf. What a professional gentleman, he is packed with technical expertise. I was placed on a reservation list for the component, Michael advised me when my component arrived. When I visited personally with Michael he assisted my Son and I perfectly and helped us to make the right choices for the remaining gaming computer components to derive the best performance. It was a great experience and we are very grateful. Thanks Micro Center, Headquarters and Michael! Sincerely Vincent & Gianni.
Went to Micro Center to pick up wireless keyboard with mouse, camera for meeting, and speakers for sound. Found a employee and his assistant for walking us to every item made the process streamlined. Will definitely go back for other equipment needed for little office. Thanks for a great and easy experience.
This is the new and improved reincarnation of Frys Electronics. Places like Best Buy and Gamestop wishes they were as cool as this place. All other has-been stores like Best Buy could learn a thing or to on the policy this amazing store uses when it comes to being able to provide their customers with graphics cards for a great price.
This is the ONE and ONLY place you need to go to for computer supplies of all types. They also have great prices on TVs as well.Store inventory also includes a full area dedicated to Dell and Apple equipment and supplies. You can also get networking hardware, A/V supplies and equipment, and MANY, many more items. A GREAT place to get your nerd on.Their personnel are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. However, they seem to be on a type of commission or merit system which drives some of them to be a bit too in your face with the can I help you with something. This is even after you say that you just want to look.Be prepared to wait in a long line for checkout during busy times such as weekends. They go fast most of the time but its still VERY long.
My PC built is not posting, not powering. Went to this store yesterday at around 2 pm, a nice kid was trying to diagnose it on the spot, but I knew right away that he was not going to be able to help me. He was trying to run some tests on mi PC and then he asks me: was this working recently? to which I replied: yes, until a couple of weeks ago. Then he goes: well, its weird because everything its completely dead. Then I said: you might want to connect the PS cable to the motherboard, and also connect the PS cable to the PSU. All the cables were unplugged in my PC, which I did myself before, and he hadnt caught that within the first ten minutes!Of course he was not able to diagnose my PC, I was told it could be either the Motherboard, or the processor, or the RAM. I got zero assurances, and left the store the same way I came, without knowing whats wrong with my PC. He recommended for me to buy a new motherboard ($400) and replace it and see what happens, then a new processor ($300) and see what happens also. Like is not costly at all.I was, of course charged the $40 bucks diagnosis fee. But, it caught my attention that a woman next to me was able to leave her PC there for 24-48 hours for a diagnosis, as told by another rep. Mine was done on the spot, by a guy who knows less than I do. Its not the kids fault, whoever hired him clearly is not doing a proper job. Bad experience overall, felt like a scam
After having a bad experience here the owner and gm reach out to rectify the situation I had an issue buying open boxed fans. I do recommend checking your open boxed purchases before leaving but I feel the gm did his due diligence in making it right. He made me feel like an appreciated customer. Mr.Miller not only made me feel better about the situation but made me feel comfortable to go back to the store to shop again.
Microcenter is the best PC/electronics hobbyists supply store. They have good materials and the fairest prices with a knowledgeable staff. At a time when they could have been scalping video cards and power supplies they continued to operate ethically and tried to make sure the hard to find items were distributed instead of simply being handed to bots and scalpers and scalper bots. Theyve earned a great deal of my loyalty.
I always love Micro Center. I am their customer from the very beginning. They still maintain good customer service.
This was my first trip to Micro Center and overall I was very satisfied. I was surprised with how much stuff they have there! We went for a specific fan splitter for our PC & found what we needed without issues. The store was clearly laid out & isle signs are accurate.I didnt get hounded by the staff while I was there like when you go to Best Buy or other stores. We had one gentleman politely ask if we were able to find what we were looking for or did we need help. We said we were good & didnt get bothered again. Would definitely come here again!
BEWARE if you are purchasing desktop.I purchased used one from this location for gaming. The desktop was solid packed. I went home unpacked it and tried installing game. For the game installation, the CPU wasnt compatible. So I took it back to the store to return.Guess what happened? They said they will open the desktop flap and do the check. Sounds fair; they have to check if hardware is in place and not broken. But what they came up with couple of dead and web tangled moths inside the desktop. Then they said there are moths inside the desktop and our policy is NO return in that case. I brought the desktop back to store within 2 days. They didnt ask me during purchase to open the desktop and check if there are moths inside.if that is a return policy then asking customer to check during purchase should also be a policy. How would I possibly manage to put those web tangled moths inside the desktop? What would have been my motivation to do that?I never opened the Desktop flap.
This has to be the worse yet customer service of any business I have seen. I was patient. I tried to get to the proper department so I could get the help i needed. I tried contacting you guys in anyway i could. I was polite. But not only i never got the assistance i needed. There was no follow up. No interest in letting me know what was being done. And now not even a measly answer. My first purchase with you guys was 400 dollars. It might not be much but you just lost a customer due to poor service.Nobody should be made to wait half a month and still not get the proper assistance. 18 days to be exact.
Our go to spot for our computer accessories. We drive nearly 45 minutes just to shop here. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable.
Staff are helpful without being aggressive. Selection and pricing are very competitive with online offerings.
Why would anyone go to Best Buy when you have Micro Center in Houston. Great computer selection and accessories. The only store where you can build your own computer with all the parts in stock.
I order a computer to be customized made. I was told itll would be 4 to 5 days. Day 6 and still no computer. It is hard to reach somebody at the location .. before I make a trip to the store (40 mins. Drive) to find out it was not ready.
Sales staff are very knowledgeable and if it isnt their speciality, they will hand you off to someone who specializes in the product. The quality of products are great with a good selection.
Super awesome people. They know what they are doing and always happy to help.
Great store. They have anything you could imagine computer wise
Where Jacob J was kind and seemed to be helpful in the moment, he lied. Instead of saying that he was uncertain if what I was looking for was in stock, he confirmed that what I was looking for was definitely in stock ( I took screenshots). He told me there was only 1 left. After confirming with Jacob that the very specific item was in stock at the Houston location, I drove 45 minutes to the store. Once I got there I was approached by floor staff. I told the guy what I was looking for. He proceeded to bring me 2 print outs claiming they were both Gen 2 items (of the specific soundbar I was inquiring about). This didnt sound right but I let him proceed. He brought out the item and I asked why 1 print out said Gen 2 (the one that wasnt in stock) but the other printout didnt. He tried to tell me thats just how the system was printing out that inventorys information He tried to reassure me, though the one he brought out was a Gen 2. So, I asked why the gap in price difference (-$50). He stated its just 1 was wireless and the other wasnt. He also tried to tell me the Gen 2 that wasnt in stock, although wireless, would not work with Alexa...but that the other Gen 2 would even though it had multiple connections). This really didnt make sense. How could the more expensive one not be as advanced as the less expensive one. He continued to try to convince me that the print out for the soundbar he brought out was definitely GEN 2. I called his bluff. I stood in the store and called Sonos directly. Although the Sonos customer service rep couldnt help me identify by anything on the printout, he told me the simplest way to identify was Gen 1 Sonos Beam Soundbars are in a black and gray box and Gen 2 are in an off-white box. After hearing that, I left everything where it was and walked out. I went less than a mile down the road to Best Buy. As SOON as I walked in, an employee walked me to what I told him I was asking for. Sure enough, the Best Buy employee the ones in the black and gray boxes were Gen 1s and the ones in the white boxes were Gen 2. Guess what, it even says Gen 2 on the front of the box. Micro center is just a large warehouse style retailer with liars pushing product trying to make a buck...smh. Next time, Micro Center, please be honest. If you dont have something say it. If you dont know if it is there, say that too. Dont waste peoples time.
I love shopping at Micro Center, I feel like a kid in a candy store.I always go in there for one item and end up leaving with a few, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and they seem to be everywhere.I often shop for certified refurbished equipment and then add the extended warranty which is very reasonable.
Favorite place to buy hardware, cords, etc & get in person tech support! The employees know what they are talking about. I wish every tech store was this comprehensive and professional
First time in this place, totally recommended friendly staff, and they do have good stock of computers/accesiores. Must visit for sure.
Very cool store, with lots of neat electronics. Plenty of stuff for DIY projects, too. Its not every day you can walk into a place and find air quality sensors and 1.7 inch LCD monitors.
This place is wonderful. Pretty much everything you need pc wise is here.I forgot the full name of the employee that was assisting me. I believe his name was Josh. He was extremely helpful.I was there roughly an hour. I told him what I was looking to get and he explained in great detail what products I just purchase to help. There was one specific product we couldn’t find at first. We looked across the entire store just to help me find it. It took a while but he found it. That type of customer service doesn’t come often from places. From TV’s to custom PCs all the way to streaming/broadcasting, This store has it.They offer Apple repair on products along with PC repair. I believe they also have data recovery available. This place has been around for years. I can’t believe I haven’t visited them sooner.I definitely recommend it. The pictures I posted don’t justice. There is a lot more I should have captured.
The associates are attentive. After a purchase, the manager comes together with the associate to thank us about going to the store and doing business there. Good customer rep.
Who needs a big box store when you can get real personalized care help and assistance. From the knowledge first guys at microcenter. Shop local with very competitive low prices and amazing service. And the industries best return policy. Its a wounder that theyve stood the test of time and have grown to a statewide chain. One that consistently puts there national competition in check. They have been every Houston geeks best kept secret. And my first stop for all things tech for over 20 years. With Better buys and a Crew of Geeks that raise the Bar on Knowledge setting a new Standard for service. That the big box stores just cant replicate. They are local leaders in IT and trail blazers at the forefront of tomorrow tech trends. A one stop tech shop with fall the things you know you need and all the things you forgot.
Not well stocked, but they try. I need a simple fungicide for my yard.....nope. Buy local!!
Low stars only because even though theres a limit of the amount of people let in the building at a time, its still very crowded. Hardly anyone wears a mask, including the managers! Cant feel safe looking for my computer needs which is unfortunate because of how convenient it is to get something the same day rather than having to wait after ordering online. Were in a pandemic and they cant even offer curbside pick-up for the safety of the community. Im sad but I wont be seeing Micro Center for a long time.
Id give it zero stars if I could. This corporation needs to stay out of politics and stop polarizing the community. Super liberal economy wrecking tactics to scare and intimidate. Used to be my go-to place. Now its a joke
In the city, they provide the best tech support and help for purchasing the right product I need. From building PCs to fixing something broken, they are the best. The usually have competitive or better prices than Amazon or new egg
This store has only gotten better. I first visited years ago and somehow the staff had gotten even more friendly. I had three... THREE employees ask me if I needed anything before I even got to the section I was shopping in. Thats insane to me. Even a manager checked in on me while I was waiting for the associate to grab my PC from the back. Prices were comparable or better than other outlets. Most hardware had hands on displays. Organization was on point. And checking out felt personalized by Johns friendliness. It was memorable enough that I remember 3 of the guys names. Cant say that about any other store Ive ever been to. I got what I wanted, how I wanted, and when I wanted. This would be the rarest of occasions where a 6 star rating is appropriate. Oh yea, all of that during peak hours with a bunch of people in store. Made me want to work there tbh.
Still a great place to get what you need! Its a lot harder to find things right now - Im assuming because covid has affected staffing and stocking ad such - but before, the signs above the aisle were ALL YOU NEEDED to locate an item. Now, youre lucky if the items in the aisles are even sort of aligned with the signage.Hopefully theyll be able to get back to their normal, wonderful arrangement like the before-times, but still the perfect resource for tech.
Great store. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. After Frys and Radio Shack closed I wondered where is was going to go. This is my go to place know! I dont care if it is on the other side of Houston!
My fave place to go and unwind or just walk around. Once in a while I end up buying what I dont need, like future Projects. Overall the sales team does know what they are selling and can help you find whatever suits your needs.
Found what I needed and it was on sale. Cant beat that. Plenty of inventory and a helpful staff make shopping a pleasant experience. I always spend money on something every time I go to store even though I went in just for browsing.
This place is tech geek heaven!! HUMONGOUS inventory, everything from SATA cables to backlit keyboards to water cooling kits. They have a lot of everything and what I love is that it is there for you to pick up and touch and see if you like. The staff there is very friendly and the three folks i talked with seemed very knowledgeable when asked specific questions about the parts we were getting. And even though it was a Saturday, just before school started, checkout line went very fast. Thank you!
Just went in today to get a freebie, but always buy all my computer stuff from there. Theyve always given great service from friendly, helpful and knowledgeable people. Truly 5-Star!
The BEST place to buy computer stuff. Great prices. Awesome and friendly people.
Ideal PC builder or lover environment. Overall part supply is to die for. Manager or possibly the store owner was very pleasant with helping me during the initial pandemic reopening opening. Used the items from here to build out the pc below. Drove 3 hours to experience the recommendations to the store. Worth it.
Micro center always has great customer service. But the main reason I drive an hour and pass all the other computer store locations is to do business with a person I have trusted with all my family electronic needs for the last 15 years is Mike Joiner. He is one the best people i have ever met and is ALWAYS happy and is willing to go the extra mile to insure you get what you need. I could go on and on about Mike Joiner, but will just say this, for me Mike is what makes Micro center the store it is today. Keep up the great service Mike!Steve
Best PC parts store in the region...I live in Conroe and will make the drive into Houston (which sucks hard) for this place alone...
Perfect for hard-to-find audio/visual cables/adapters and miscellaneous computer hardware that you will never find at Best Buy or any other brick-and-mortar store in Houston (especially since Frys Electronics closed in early 2021).Over the years I have purchased several of their store brand mini SD, micro SD and USB flash drives cards and found them to be of high quality at an excellent price. The staff are generally friendly and helpful but the store can get quite busy (checkout line moves quickly) so if youre looking to avoid crowds go early.
Short wait in line to be helped. They are always busy. Attendant understood my issue quickly and found my devices registration. It needs a battery and she found the proper battery and quickly explained the resolution including the estimate. It on order.
Store has everything..Kinda overwhelmed ..Helpful knowledgeable staff
Great selection of in stock products. Really good and knowledgeable sales staff. They like to talk about the products as well them.
Good store good prices.Staff is helpful and very knowledgeable
I was there for pickup headphones 🎧 for my son. Its nice electronic products place.
Love this micro center, has absolutely everything you need to build a computer or if you need accessories or just anything really. Pretty affordable as well, staff is extremely helpful and are very well educated on any topic 👏
I can always find what I need. And the return policy is great
Went to pick up headphones for free no purchase necessary was in and out quick as possible
These techs No that stuff sometimes they try to lead you to buy something that you don’t really need because they’re a step ahead of you I bought a number of items was very well consulted and I did question than why those supplementary software or hardware were required and I got an honest answer well doesn’t go back that much better than Best Buy or even frys
I purhcased a Thrustmaster steering wheel and pedal combo at this location that was defective, I was not able to return it within the 30 day window so now I am stuck with a $300 piece of equipment that does not work. I understand policies but maybe you should offer better products and stand behind the products that you are selling to your customers. Some 15 year old kid made it clear that there was no chance they would even look at this item because it had been past 30 days. Horrible service!
I used to absolutely love this place as the mecca for anything computer related. They have just about anything here. That was, until I saw how terrible the employees were treated by the higher ups. The managers treat their employees like dirt and it really gets passed down to the customers. The managers need to respect their employees.
I was recently in the store looking for a computer set up for my home office! Jalon H. and Juan G. ended up assisting me and figuring out exactly what I needed. Their expertise and knowledge together were able to find exactly what I needed to serve my purpose where others could not assist. I would recommend Micro Center and these associates to help solve any solution with the right product. Thanks Guys and Appreciate you Both!
The last great place for IT hardware. Always fair prices and really helpful sales team.
Good customer service but the guy left me for 30 minutes to help another customer.
Do you know what a big box store should have plenty of? Fan screws and steel wire for CPU heat sinks. Do you know what they didnt have? Band screws and steel wire for CPU heat sinks. Why bother traveling 14 miles to a brick-and-mortar store just to to get there and they dont have what you need when you could get it on Amazon. This is why your prices are too high and why people arent walking through your doors anymore
I thought I would hate this place, but it has something for everyone. I bought small cheap technology - mouse, for my students as a prize for their grades. Great place.
One of the best places on earth so far. Customer service at its best and a big variety of products. Manager listens to his clients and the crew is always there to support. Thank you kindly.
Awesome staff, awesome service. Lots of goodies a dream come true for computer experts, knowledgeable staff and best of all excellent service!
I love Micro Center! Way better than Best Buy for a tech guy. My go to place for computer components locally
Crowded. Expensive. Alas the only store left standing to carry all of the computer parts you may need. Fortunately, the staff is courteous and helpful
Everyone in the store give you a good service. But the guy who is above and beyond is Mr Hunter. wow hi is very professional and he answers all the questions you may have and help you with what ever you are going to buy in there I recommend you to look for him Mr. Arnold Hunter.
Now that I have been to micro center a few times I wanted to update my experience. So we went got everything we needed to build a new computer, except the brand new motherboard we purchased was not new. It was repackage after someone spilled something all over both sides and tried to clean it off, it probably doesnt even work. So my entire computer build for my classes has been stonewalled. Hopefully I can get back to return it , since now I need a replacement and need to get another ride back. It was a real treat pulling it out of the bag and seeing it had stuff all over it and in the pins for the power plug . I shouldnt have to open a motherboard box in a computer store to check if it is used or not. Totally unacceptable. Dont bother calling the store either you get a really long recorded message right before the automated system just hangs up on you theres not even a way to speak to a person.
Helpful staff, good selection and smooth in-n-out buying experience
Best place if you need an electric item and cannot wait to buy it online.
Son wanted some parts for his computer staff was helpful and assisted us.
Went to MicroCenter today for the first time to take a look at the computer monitors. Ive worked in retail all my life and let me tell you, they have their stuff together! Everything is well organized, very well stocked, and their employees are friendly ( I got asked 4 times if I needed help). Even though I didnt need help, I could tell they were all knowledgeable by overhearing their conversations with other customers.I will definitely go back for all of my tech needs!
Been to this store twice...will never go back again. First time I reserved a display online and came in to buy it. After wondering around for 15 minutes just trying to find an associate, I finally figured out where to pick up reservations...waited in line for over an hour for them to serve the 5 people in front of me...why did this take so long? They couldnt find anything, took them 15 minutes to find anything anyone had ordered...Today I go in to get a GPU, online says you cant reserve and you have to go in to buy...no problem. They update the website at 7 this morning showing they have inventory. I get there 15 minutes after they open and they are sold out...but people are still lined up to get cards so what gives? Oh, well you have to come in the day before to get a voucher...since they dont update their online inventory to notify you, then you just have to come in every day and ask if you can get a voucher.Today Micro Center has lost my business and any possibility of a recommendation. Im sad to see that this is still around when Frys isnt, they always had great customer service and I never had to stand in a line for no reason. I expect this will be the last year for Micro Center, and I say good riddance. To Micro Center, I say stop lying to your customers, stop wasting their time, get organized, and on top of that, dont price gouge your customers. I truly cannot think of a single thing you do right...
Amazing store! They have all the computer parts you could dream of and more. Clean and well organized store. Its a lot of fun just going there!I recommend going.
Great staff. Theyre friendly, helpful and know their stuff. The only issue I have is with with the inventory count on their website. Its never up to date. Ive drive here multiple times to buy something the website said was stock only to find out from the staff that it was sold out and I wasted a half hour trip here.
Great store but very busy and parking lot so full!
I have taken advantage of the great prices for two different laptops along with the laptop cases and the better prices on other items such as printers as well. This is a great place to find all your needs that you may need for home or office equipment. Watch for the great sales.
They sold me a refurbished Lap Top that did not work but overall they have a lot of electronics and good prices. I will add they let me return it.
Great customer service. I bought a laptop there and they helped so much. Without them I would have no idea what I wanted out of a laptop. I had them transfer my stuff from my old laptop to my new one. Everything was transferred in a timely manner. Love my new laptop! 💕
Out of stock in several laptops. Not a good selection of headphones. Go to Best Buy.
This place is like, Computer Nerd Heaven, and I love it! It was so cool to go in there and everyone was so awesome. Will definitely go back.
Got a phone from here and it works perfectly! Service is great and employees are kind
Always have what I need! Best technology center available in Houston!
When Im close enough I most always buy my PC parts at micro center. The manager of the Houston micro center, Steve (5/1/21), is probably the reason I will keep doing so. He was able to take what was a frustrating set of events and turn them into a win for me at little to no cost to the store I hope. Big box stores are what they are but good people like Steve can make it feel more caring.
Everything from hard drives to headphones an all the in-betweens they had in stock an ready to walk out of the door. Not to mention the personal seemed to know what they were talking about I was impressed.
Good selection of chairs, but dont come here unless you KNOW what you want. You cant sit in any of the chairs.
Nothing but good things to say about this store. Great selection of computer parts as well as a decent size selection of microelectronics.
Wise staff , good pricing. I pass allot of Best Buys to go to Micro Center!
Horrible they had 2 graphics card but refused to sell me the cards. it was for their lottery system. which i understand but i live 2 hours away and they had no information available that they are now only lottery system i am annoyed and upset.
First allow me to say that this store is amazing! The help I received from Ryan and Bryan were above top notch service. I live about 3 hours away from their Houston store. I had been searching for a high end gaming rig for a long time. And they worked with me from out of town and made the whole process very easy. I drove to Houston and they built my Gaming rig to spec. Went over Everything with me. If you have the pleasure of visiting their store or any Microcenter store I highly recommend it! It’s like Lego Land but for everything and anything PC related. And their customer service is top notch! I would give this review 10 stars if I could! Thank you again Microcenter and to Ryan and Bryan for all that you guys do!! You have a client for life!!
I have been to many Microcenters to purchase open box laptops, and specifically open box Apple laptops. At every location Ive been to (Northern VA, both MD locations, MI, and MN) when Im discussing an open box laptop, the sales staff has been knowledgeable and honest about the open box process. They have also been willing to be flexible on price when the laptop in question is priced more highly than it should be (especially if I can point to equivalent laptops at other Microcenters that are priced lower). This is the first Microcenter that has actively lied to me about the process of how open box laptops are priced and sold. First, I was told that open box Apple laptops are priced by being sent back to Apple. Yes, a manager told me this with a straight face. When I told them that open box laptops are just returns that Microcenter wipes and repackages for sale, and Apple never gets involved in that process, he agreed to let me talk to another manager. That manager then told me that the pricing was fixed based on how long the laptop has been open box. I showed him evidence that an equivalent laptop to the one this store had (exact same description and condition) was priced almost $100 lower, and that this store had just sold another open box laptop just like this one for a lower price than this. He just shrugged his shoulders and said you should have bought that one.Look, I dont mind if a store wants to be firm on its pricing for an open box item. What really upset me is how blatantly the store was willing to misrepresent the way these laptops are priced, and try to use that to defend what is essentially an arbitrary decision. Like I said, Ive bought from several Microcenters in the past, and when they are honest with me, I am more than willing to pay a fair price. What I dont appreciate is being lied to and having a sales supervisor act flippantly when I challenge a blatantly false narrative. I will not be shopping at this location again, and would not recommend them to anyone in Houston.EDIT: Per the response from Microcenter, I have e-mailed them this review and some more details. I will update this review with any additional information/communication I receive.
Overall great service. Went on a Sunday to buy parts for a pc build and had to wait about 30 minutes in line which was actually pretty fast since there was about 70 people in line. Had to wait a bit to get any help from the staff but that was expected since this was during peak hours. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I actually had to return the parts I bought due to an error on my end. Return was accepted no questions asked.
Affordable center for electronic items and also have great deals on laptops....
The customer service people were awesome and the repair computer as well super helpful! Only downside was when I actually went to buy a new laptop its amazing but like not one person would help me out. I one point I could have sworn the manager guy was actually trying to avoid me lmaoo it was strange and came out with no laptop.
1 star for my laptop that I took in past for repair. Was told it will cost over $500 to to replace bad motherboard. Decided its not worth it, paid their fee and brought home. later, I looked and seal sticker was not removed from back, I dont know how they checked without opening that I needed new motherboard! I feel cheated, will not recommend repairs!
Its microcenter! Checkout experience is quite the affair, seems like the registers are stuck in the 80s and take forever. Tons of people around to help out, lots of stock including microcontrollers. Love this place.
The best tech store in the world. Id rather drink pine-sol than shop anywhere else for my technology needs.
Id last visited Micro center when it was near the Galleria, so I was hugely impressed with their new location and their huge range of products. In the post Frys world, this will be my IT go to store. Their staff were knowledgeable and helpful and the prices seem to compare well to the obvious online options.
