I was AMAZED at the quality of food and service at this place. This is my new favorite restaurant due to the high quality of customer service and the quality and tastiness of the delicious food. I ordered the Butter Chicken and Garlic Naan (I asked for them to make the Butter Chicken spicy) and it was to die for. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend that you try Cafe India ! I am sure, that without a doubt, you will genuinely love it!
I’m new in town and my friend took me out for a late lunch to catch up and try something new. We walked in ready to be seated when Reni (hope I spelled this right) told us they were closing. We apologized and said they had the best reviews so wanted to give it a try. Long story short, she sat us at a table told us don’t worry. The staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. This will be my go to and highly recommend it. Once again, THANK YOU…
Amazing food! So delicious, quality food and reasonable prices. What a find! Very friendly and fast service. We ordered a lot of different food and it was ALL FANTASTIC!! My husband was in heaven. And they will make it to the heat you want. Will definitely be visiting often!!
I have ultimately down marked the restaurant for a few reasons, firstly arriving at 130pm on a Saturday for lunch, we really expected the buffet to be better stocked. Some offerings were either completely empty or very near empty and some appeared as if they’ve been sitting around for a while.Although the food seemed to taste warm enough, the flavours were too bland for my tastes. With that said, it’s not a bad spot for a quick lunch, it won’t be on my return list. Lastly for $11.99 including bottled water or a soft drink the price is at least sensible.
I’ve only ever order from Uber eats but the food has always been delicious and hot. Also, the portions are good. I really like the veg samosas and lamb. Will keep ordering from here
Best Indian restaurant in Houston, tiny but mighty. If you’re looking for authentic Indian taste, you need to try this place.5 stars all I can give but I already gave the employees 12😃
Happy Valentines Day. I convinced my husband to try Indian cuisine for dinner. If you live or visit Jersey Village, there is a little gem called Cafe India at West Rd & Beltway 8. WOW! 5 🌟. Best service, ask for Mike. The food is outstanding. BYOB. My kind of place. They also offer fresh buffet, M thru Saturday, from 11 to 2 pm and so affordable. Cant wait to return. You wont regret it! What are you waiting for, get over there fast. You wont regret it.
Really good food and great customer service. Very friendly staff and always ready to help and serve. How good is served within few minutes of ordering. It’s a small restaurant but with great flavor.
So so SOOOOO good!! We ordered through Uber eats, tried a few dishes and ordered MORE. We will be regulars moving forward it was so delicious, fresh and flavorful.
I love this place food is sooo delicious. I have only ordered delivery from there but I highly recommend it.
Asked for medium spicy, they made extra spicyNo utensils for take out orderNo rice when ordering curry; all other restaurants doBig cuts of tomato in one portion of curry just to fill it up.Not eating again here
Very disappointing, we placed a to go order. Bad quality and less quantity for dinner platters. We eat Indian food from so many restaurants but never seen this less of a quantity, the given containers were not full either. The butter chicken is dipped in food color an the naan is all burnt. Never ever going there again, our first and last visit. The attached pics are before we even touched the food, and had to post this review for sure.
This place is okay. Ive been a few times and Im really on the fence. Its not bad, but its just not quite good to me. I love Indian food and I keep returning, hoping for the best. The sign out front still says all you can eat lunch buffet. Nope, that went away long ago, they say they want to bring it back , but I have my doubts. I have plenty of reasons not to go back or promote this place, but again,. Im holding out for a bit. Maybe next visit will determine that. The lunch special that hasnt changed is chicken Tikka masala and saag paneer, served in a styrofoam to go container. The other foods are presented on real plates, but if you order the lunch special, even if you are with someone else who is getting their food on a real plate, yours is coming in styrofoam.the naan is good.
Indian Nepalese restaurant with tasty food. want to satisfy the sweet tooth? Try mango lassi or Kashmiri nan. Looking for spicy and hot -get bullet naan or try anything with the pepper sign.Enjoy your meal
Tasty and authentic Indian cuisine that is very well priced with friendly and helpful service.
If you like Indian food I would recommend it.
Exelente one word for describing the food and the owner is very kind. Made exelente recommend about introducing the new adventure in to Indian food. Tanks for opening Saturday.
The food is great quality and we always get great service!
Ive heard about this place several times but stopped in for the first time this evening after meeting nearby with a client. The lamb vindaloo with basmati rice was seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of heat and the onion & cilantro kulcha was fabulous - note the toasty edges. Its a BYOB - wish I had planned better! Understated interior was accented by pictures of India and the humble, nice owner was very welcoming. Will definitely be back and worth the drive!
Never again. I ordered the butter chicken that was $12 and was disappointed with the amount of chicken to sauce ratio. It was 3 Oz of chicken to 16 Oz to sauce. Talk to the chef and she responded by saying this is the first complaint and refused to fix the problem. So sad, this place use to be really good
I used to go here often and the food and service was always great, but recently I went and the food was no longer the same. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, fried chicken momo, mango lasi, Kashmiri nan and plain nanaChicken tikka masala - some of the rice was burnt, aside from that it was good as usuaFried chicken momo - these were completely different, the contents of the momo were mushy with no real substance. Not appetizing at allMango lasi - good as usualKashmiri nan - this was also completely different and not very appetizing like it was beforePlain nan - good as usualIm very disappointed in the food as Im certain the cook/chef is not the same
Chicken tikka masala, goat curry, hands down one of best. II think the chef has changed or something. But the food pretty good now. Must try. Small restaurants never fails me for delicious taste.
Lamb shahi korma is so good!!!!
Its so tasty. Service treated us so kindly. Like a restaurant in Washington I liked.
Food us amazing and delicious
Great food... 👌🏼
I love this spot! They provide delicious meals, they have a nice menu, The chef in that restaurant is a real authority in the kitchen, I like a lot eating all their food. The food is consistently fresh, the service towards the customers is friendly. I visit often this place and I not even once was unhappy. I recommend it with no hesitation.
The food is really good and tasty. My favorite dishes to order are malai kofta, chicken tikka masala, and both the goat and chicken briyani. Staff is also very sweet and welcoming. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re looking for authentic Indian food. :)
So many options, great portions, and excellent quality! Their eggplant, lamb korma, malai kofta, and biriyanis are outstanding. I also love their chicken 65 and gobi manchurian. Of course the staples tikka and saag are always delicious, but with such a variety its hard not to try new dishes. They continue to impress, and Im thankful for a delicious Indian restaurant in NW Houston.
Very nice people and very good food!
Food tasted good. Very small portion size. Initially not as welcoming. But overall what I got tasted okay.
Amazing shrimp curry. Thank you
I had chow mein and bhindi masala recently from Cafe India. Worst food ever. If thats not enough, had a stomach ache after eating it. I wish there was a rating lower than 1 available. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.
Excellent food, came out piping hot and truly authentic tasting. Spoke to the chef directly, gave him our best compliments! Do not be mislead by the simple decor - the food is superb!
This restaurant food is very delicious and so good I love this restaurant foods 👌👌👌👌👌👌
Wonderful service. Attentive, professional and even made sure to ask spice level. Food was amazing. Worth the 40 min drive from our home, we will be back!
Went there for Valentines Day and I must say the food is delicious. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. It is so gooooood, I was dancing and humming in my chair while eating. The food tastes fresh and that is so important to me. Vegan and vegetarian friendly; also important to me! Service was nice also. My new little spot!
Great first time experience, customer service was awesome. Food was delicious, and the place was well put/very clean! Definitely recommend to EVERYONE!
I ordered Paneer Makahni and delivered by Uber Eats. It is the SALTIEST dish that I have ever eaten in my life. When I say salty, picture 1/3 of a salt container dumped into a dish salty. Even without salt, it is the worst tasting Paneer Makhani that I have ever eaten. AVOID this place at all costs.
Good food and pleasant service.
Bit of a hidden gem. Small cozy spot in the middle of a strip center. Generous potions coupled with great taste. Often you are asked for personal spice preference to better accommodate your taste. Kind service.
Excellent buffet for a good price. Very good selection and tastes great. Highly recommend if you are looking for a Indian buffet.
Best place to eat Indian and Nepali food. I loved momo. Owner is so welcoming. Certainly recommend this place.
The food is pretty straightforward. Not too expensive if youre actually paying attention to what is all involved in a dish. The service was adequate, though only the gentleman seemed to interact with the patrons. Being in the NW, theres not many options when it comes to Indian food. So in a pinch I would go there. But its not wow food.
Great buffet! All the items on the buffet were delicious! I have tried their Dinner too and Lamb rogan josh is the best. I highly recommend chicken Dumplings: fried and steamed. Oh I love their dumpling sauce, it’s so good. Overall, this is my favorite restaurant on this side of town. On top of that, the waiter was very helpful and provided great service!
Bland and lots of sauce and very little chicken in the butter chicken. The sauce was watery like a soup. The kheer was literally soup with a tiny bit of rice. The garlic naan was good but not good enough to justify eating here again.
Delicious
I dont know what people are on. This food is amazingly yummy. We used Uber and were surprised to find all the food still warm, with their textures intact. We really enjoyed it. We will be back!
I had the lamb chops and they were bland with only bones. I would not recommend this place. I asked for medium spicy but there was no spice at all, infact there was no seasoning at all. He gave me spicy onions saying I could eat those rather than the chops.
Amazing place! Very good food and very good service. We arrived almost 10 minutes to close and they were superb in telling us that they would cook for us and that there was no problem. The service was superb!
Ive been eating Indian food for over 30 years and this is the best Ive had! The food is amazingly fresh and the service is phenomenal! Its a small store front restaurant and you get the Royal treatment! If you try it once, youll definitely be back!
Small hole in the wall restaurant but friendly service. Im not an expert on Indian cuisine but we usually eat Momo when are are here and it is AMAZING!
Awesome! Great food, great ambiance and GREAT customer service. Seems like Ownership is changed and they do have a new website as well. The Service Staff took care of us, to the nines! Hit it up if youre looking for great Indian food. They do have Lunch Buffets ;-)
Amazing food!
New management and fresh and delicious food. Went there for lunch and dinner after couple of days again. Food was amazing! Definitely recommend this place.
Delicious, Im going back to try the lamb.
Took my husband and my 6 month old son there and the man working there was very sweet and kind and even helped calm my son so I could finish my meal. Not only that, but the food was wonderful. Definitely would recommend anyone to go there.
Awesome food.I have been there with 3 friends for dinner tonight and it was delicious. The staff were so friendly and respectful.I am going definitely with my friends again !! Love it :)
Food is very good and love the Naan. Be aware is not unlimited drinks but there’s a spicy chicken that is very good as is the rest of their food.
Good food and excellent customer service!!! Very accommodating with special requests.
Food is really good for non-spicy lovers. Little small place so hard to have a gathering for more than 10 people and go for team lunch. Other than nice food and good service.
The food here is amazing, the owner cares about quality and providing good service. I would highly recommend this place for anybody looking for an authentic indian taste.
Great Food. Its a small place. Not a huge buffet, but what they have is good. Priced right. Its a 👍👍 up place.
Not pleased. Expensive lunch buffet that was poorly stocked. First time Ive ever not liked saag paneer. The naan was good, so I will honor that with the third star.
Love this place. They have all the Indian favorites, great taste, reasonable prices- its a bit out of the way for me, but I am definitely going back for more.
The food was absolutely delicious! They have tons of vegetarian options. The service is amazing. Definitely reccomend.
Ever heard of potatoes in a momo! Food is too salty. Stay away from this horrible eatery
The deep fried flowers and rainbow rice are good and the little citronella flavored sweet balls or whatever they are.
Not sure if they have changed the chef or what. Food is not the same as before. We always enjoyed Madras Chicken and tandoori chicken here but it was blend. They definitely have changed the chef and I hope they make it better.
I already had some food before I walked in to this place. I just wanted some samosas to fill up rest of my hunger but once I looked at those samosas I didnt really feel like putting those through my taste buds. Nothing against it but didnt look that it came out fresh from the kitchen, maybe fridge and microwave yes. All the chicken curries looked pretty good but I decided to pick up vegetable platter for $4.99 plus taxes (chicken platter for $5.99 plus taxes). It came with two vegetable items and rice (no Nan). I spent less the first time so that I can get good feeling about the food without spending too much. Food tasted like any other buffet places that I have ever tried. This food wont encourage my Indian friends but it will fly through the american community. Again, I cant complain about the food for the money that I spent. If I were to add Nan then it was a dollar extra. Next time I will try chicken platter with Nan...Lets see if it earns more respect in terms of taste.
We went in for lunch, which they do cafeteria style. The food was excellent and the portions just the right size. They take orders for carry out, and were definitely planning to go back for dinner at some point.
Found this little gem while out in the area training. I have to say that this is a very unassuming restaurant upon first look. However once inside your treated to exceptional service and food. The food was hot and tasted fresh. I believe it was the the manager or owner that came around with fresh naan as well. Its $9.99 plus tax for the lunch buffet and a complimentary drink. The price was great for such superb food and service. Ill be back any chance I get.
Grrreeeat! I asked for extra spicy...they delivered. And it was still tasty! Ill continue to order from here
Ordered take-out and I was disappointed in the portions. The chicken tikka portion only had 5 pieces of chicken and I feel silly for paying $12 for a container of sauce. I probably won’t be ordering from here again, which is too bad because the 5 chunks of chicken were delicious.
Their lunch buffet is one of the best in the Houston area! The food variety is fresh and delicious, and the price is very reasonable. Cafe India is definitely on my list of top Indian restaurants in Houston.
I ordered a to go order of butter chicken and they used tiki chicken with the butter chicken sauce. It was okay but I wanted butter chicken.
Cafe India was yummy and comfortable. The food was flavorful but not too spicy and I thought the offerings were good for my carb free diet, I could fill up on the meats at the buffet. My lunch guest enjoyed the rest if the buffet and we both agreed it was the better of the 2 indian buffets in the strip center. That was the old 5 star Cafe India. Now (post-covid) its just a super slow cafe.No buffet, take long long long long long time.
Food is always good, and usually have to be rolled out the door they give you so much food. Staff is super friendly. Great spot for a quick lunch.
Very good food. Apparently, the restaurant had changed owners. Im guessing that is why this place had so many bad reviews in the past. Well, it tastes great now. Jersey village needs a little culture.
Good, friendly staff. Fresh food. Better then the curry casa(house).
If you are around, is definently a must!!! They do a good job recommending what plates to get if its your first time here. The service was A+ and nothing less. Absoluty satisfied
Valentines Day was the second time my boyfriend and I went to eat here. We were blown away with how amazing there food selections were. The goat curry and naan bread was phenomenal, as well as the samosas we got for an appetizer. Tonight we had the mango drink which was freaking great, he had the chicken tiki masala, I had the cheese curd and tomato base entree, and both were on cloud nine with the quality of the atmosphere, food, and customer service. Or servers name was Mike, and he is an asset to the restaurant. We had everything we needed and had leftovers to take home. We will be back again!
The food here is so amazing, i just simply loved eveything in the buffet.. (Highly recommend the red spicy sauce) and the staff is very nice and humble! Great place to have lunch ..also veey affordable and filling:)
First of all, the buffet is the only thing I will be reviewing as I have not had any of their menu items.Buffet = gross. I have had good good Indian food in 3 different countries so I know my Indian food. This stuff was crap and if you eat there that is the only thing you will get from it, the craps. Stay away.
Amazing! Thanks Mike for being patient, and talking about your experience here, as well as for the amazing Chicken Tika Masala and the Goat Curry (you were right about the Goat Curry!! Incredible)!! Definitely want to come visit again!
Food was incredible served with large portions. The staff was very friendly and gave us complimentary snacks to try. It was the best tiki masala Ive ever had.
Probably the best Indian food we have in this area. Mom and pop shop it seems as they try to do their best to serve you and make you content.
We had lunch buffet last week with friends. Food was not tasty per Indian test.. owner was so much caring thought.
Nepali and Indian food tastes ! Mo:mo & chowmein yummy....
Great food, very tasty and quickly came to our table. The servers were friendly and always there to clear dishes or refill drinks. The one thing I would like is if they had a sample platter with several different dishes as Id like to try more of what they offer.
This place is really really good best one in the area as far as I know
