The food is nice, fresh and they have a great variety. The staff is friendly and the lady at the till is very helpful. The panner tikka masala wasnt to my taste, I have to say, but the garlic mogo was delicious, and so was the bathure.I sat outside and almost enjoyed it loads if it wasnt for Thakers next door neighbours, an admin office type where one of the owners (I think) was out from time to time to spit out gutkha tobacco at SpecSavers wall... disgusting fella. Horrible manners, chewing tobacco and spitting out like an animal.
Weve been visiting Thakers ever since it opened and its become one of our favourite treats in the town centre, even catering for our cravings during lockdown via delivery. From the moment you enter you can feel the love that is missing in so many larger restaurants; Thakers is casual, friendly and emblematic of the blend of British and Indian culture that is one of Hounslows strong points. Other diners often talk to you because of the casual seating arrangement and there are so many tasty vegetarian options that youll want to come back and try more.
Excellent place to have Indian food in Hounslow. If you are going for a date or just on a lunch break this place got your back. Delicious food and yes very quick service. Seating area is nice and clean & good sanitisation in place. This place is a must for the Desi kick in you. Gets you going right from the first bite. Good customer service too, you are welcomed with a good smile. One of the awesome dude is Wernick... Keep up the great work.100% recommended.
Good food and good service. Prices are very reasonable and the place is clean! Recommend.Editing my review - they do not have a sanitary bin in the toilets. I asked them about it and they said ‘people will make the bin dirty so we won’t provide one’. Not sure how the health inspector will feel about that.
We ordered a Makki ki roti and sarso da saag from this place. My wife was chewing the roti and she found a piece of stapler pin stuck in her gums. This is so disappointing and I cant really imagine how irresponsible the staff is. They were not ready to accept that it could have been a mistake of the kitchen. We will be reporting this to council. Not at all happy with the service and no proper apology from the staff.
Food is fine but wait time is tooooo long no proper sitting arrangements not friendly for kids .
Found this place by accident looking for a bite to eat after shopping in Hounslow. All vegetarian which is a joy as I can pick anything. The food was tasty, flavoursome & delicious. My favourite was the the paneer wrap. Excellent!
If you’re vegetarian nd looking for delicious food and reasonable prices this is the place. The first time I been to this place was phenomenal and magnificent. It got lovely staff and approachable. However during lockdown I had takeaway from Uber eats. I was quite disappointed with taste of food, it has weird taste in chole. And the Aloo paddi chaat was too thick and need to be garnished. The bhature was perfect 👌🏻 not oily like other restaurants. Overall I would recommend this place still.
It was a wonderful visit to Thakers restaurant. Enjoyed the food, especially chole bhature.. bit disappointing for spicy lovers
Dont miss this GEM of an eatery. THE best and freshest Indian Street food youll find this side of Mombai. Hidden behind Hounslow High Street.Indoor and outdoor seating.
One of the best places for good vegetarian foods and their Chaats are just amazing!
Agree with the negative reviews. Quality is low, quantity is less, a bit pricey but taste is not great. Staff behaviour a bit ridiculous (he must know he is in UK). Very much disappointed as we went since it was pure vegetarian. My first visit is also the last, thanks to the counter staff
Clean place, has outdoor seating. Tried some Indian chat, mediocre stuff, not upto my expectations. Will try other places next time.
Very very small serving but taste really good.
I visited Thakers with my family recently after reading all the great reviews online. My experience was great and I enjoyed the food. The place was clean and hygienic. Food was well presented and most importantly, tasted delicious. I was spoilt for choice from the large menu but I attach pictures of everything we tried on the day.Dont be put off by some of the negative reviews regarding pricing. I absolutely feel the price is justified for the high quality and great tasting fresh food. Youll be hard pressed to find a menu, variety and taste like this anywhere else apart from places like Dishoom which are all in the city with a much more expensive menu.My only gripe with the entire experience was the lack of proper seating and space. Hopefully that is something Thakers can work on in future.Overall I was very happy and would highly recommend Thakers for anyone wanting to sample authentic street food from India 🙂👍🏻Top tip: visit during off peak hours otherwise queues can be horrendous.
Food is tasty.,reasonably and friendly customer service thanks.
I love this restaurant sitting extant now people can enjoy outdoor as well food is so yummy
SUPERB QUALITY FOOD AND SERVICE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR EVERYONE. THE BEST RESTAURANT IN HOUNSLOW FULL STOP.
Well presented food. Slightly overpriced for a indian snack outlet. Food did not have any distinctive flavours and very bland. Not matching the North Indian pallet.
Always great food and service from Thakers and at ridiculously reasonable prices.
Nice place for Indian pan puri & shewpuri
Very delicious veggie food. Clean, good service, reasonable prices. Maradona and others football stars eat here.
Best indian Chai ....
First visit...we ordered here chole bhature and paneer wrap roll..food was too delicious....will surely recommend and again visit there
I am surprised that there are a few negatives reviews for this place as I found it to be phenomenal.- Really tasty food.- Reasonably priced.- Clean and modern decor.- Fresh tasting food. This is a hidden gem in Hounslow and in my opinion, everyone should go and try it as I always have a great experience here.Well done, Thakers.
We order take away on monday for 6 vada pao as i loved the taste of vada pao of thakers then anywhere else but on that day it was not good in taste at all so i called the restaurant to inform that today’s taste of vada pao was not good as earlier but the lady who picked up the phone replied “sir we taste all in the morning n it was good’’ and the way she replied was very rude either they might be are over confidence on their food and they dont care about customer anymore
PATHETIC FOOD , ordered pav bhaji apart from the pav nothing was good never order it absolutely NO NO . Wonder if the reviews are fake . Big disappointment ☹️
Great Indian Street food. Recommend you try it.
Great place for some desi Indian light bites. The food is always fresh and quality. It can get busy but its definitely worth a trip whilst shopping on the high Street. Shame its the only branch.I would recommend the wada pav, dahi puri, samosa chaat. In fact, everything Ive had from here tastes amazing!
This has become my favorite place for Indian food now. I come here very often. The food is just amazing and theres wide range of different items. Everything I have ever tried here is just delicious. The staff is very helpful. Everybody loved the food. Have recommended lots fo people to visit. Jaswant.
Expensive Food not worth money .just basic incredient . But prices are too high
Very rude staff. The pav bhaji was a flop. It was like some mixed veggies mashed together. I am a big fan of pav bhaji but this one was nothing close to the original.
Wonderful little Indian cafe-style restaurant with fresh tasty authentic vegetarian Indian street food - served in a sparkling clean and stylish modern restaurant. Spotless toilets. Efficient service. Bench style seating with impressive murals on the wall. Just off the high Street so not usually too busy. Highly recommended.
Serves one of the best Indian chat selections. Must visit
Craving for Indian street food..... Thakers’ is here for rescue 😀Want to grab food quickly before the grocery shopping at Asda, Thakers is good for a quick snack.Food, music and ambiance takes you to memory lane back home.Chole bhature is amazingly tasty and to my surprise bhaturas were non oily and so as The crispy bhindi.10 on 10 for the oil free fried food😬Keep it up guys.
Very tasty food. Staff were really friendly and helpful.
This is my first time here☆one of the best place I ever find,The lady at the counter help me lot to choose food and explain very well..Food very tasty..very good service Definitely come back again..LOVE THAKERS😍
The chilli cheese paratha was very tasty. Masala tea is the best. The staff is very helpful. Been here lots of times with friends, family, business, solo.and couples. Everybody loved the food. Have recommended lots fo people to visit. Everything I have ever tried here is just delicious.
We ate here last night with a long time friend that lives in London. We are huge fans of Indian food and this place was delicious. Tremendously courteous and friendly staff. Ali made us feel at home and even had us try some of their fresh made fruit juices that were refreshing and tasty. Would recommend the fresh made passion fruit juice. We ordered various dishes and each one was satisfying and well spiced. We even ordered another round of food to take back with us. For friendly staff, tasty food, and very clean environment we recommend them as 5 star.
Amazing Mumbai style Street food eatery. They use quality ingredients and decor is quirky. Lovely place and its our local favourite
Very good vegetarian starters and snacks. We like to visit this place once a week atleast
Honestly divine food... we shared samosa chaat, pav bhaji and chole bhature and masala fries.. loved every dish!!! Gutted we couldnt eat in, but will look forward to that after covid restrictions are lifted. Definitely vegetarian food for the soul..! My carnivorous friend certainly didnt miss meat in the food. Its outstanding and cant wait to go back.
Mad mad house should have called this store you need to keep asking for your food other wise they forgot to order for you tast okay but not too much choice
This is a good restaurant for Indian street food . I love Bombay sandwich 🥪 from this place. Choley poori is good too. They seem to have changed their chef and parathas don’t taste the same as before and also not cooked evenly so would avoid ordering that. Haven’t tried anything else from their menu yet.
The food is Authentic. Very tasty and value for money. The service is great. They value the customers business.
Writing this before lockdown my bad experience here! Couldn’t make tea without sugar. So I had it with sugar, tooo sweet and didn’t even drink it. Food arrived and tea came 10mins later!? Food was average, much more choice and better service available elsewhere!
Nice mango milkshake 😋
One of my favourite place, I love samosa chat and Nimbu pani 😍😍😍 place is always neat and clean hygiene top class 👍
Hello THAKERS😎My family wants to eat something like cold chats today🤔so my friend recommended me Thakers☺Im come from Ealing 😄just for some of them Allo papdis dahipuris and panipuris😋😋😋its was delicious 😎very clean cplace..she provide me cutlery as well 😌 thankyou for all things 😙
Great food, the industrial taste is not there proper home made touch to it. Hats off to the chef. The only downfall to such great quality is the high prices.
One of the best place for vegetarian, excellent hygiene..highly recommend
V good consistently tasty quality food
I placed an order via deliveroo and wasnt happy with the quantity of pani given. So I called up the restaurant to express my disappointment and impressed by how my feedback was taken. The manager called me back and explained the reason and also suggested how it can be averted in the future. She was very professional. The quality and taste of food have always been good in my experience.
This is probably ny favourite Vegetarian Restaurant in my area. The area is underated to the overated reataurant since a lotnof great people have been here including. Gordon Ramsay in their kitchen. Although it is an Indian restaurant the food isnt a whole lot spicy like it normally is making it a perfect place for all people.
Best vegetarian restaurant in London. Polite staff.
The restaurant seems to be more than an over hyped place. Also seems everything is fake as even all the photos they have put on their walls showing celebrities big shots like Boris Johnson and other celebs like Gordon Ramsey, Sachin Tendulkar, Irfan Khan etc at their restaurant/kitchen are all morphed. I wonder if they are doing such fake marketing how would be the quality of ingredients they use and the freshness of food. I tried there twice and I strongly felt that curries and makke ki rotis are not freshly made as they claim otherwise. The rotis were half baked.TOTALLY GIMMICKY PLACE.
I would not recommend their food. It was cold, had no flavour, and a waste of money.
I admire this restaurant! They offer superb food, their menu is large, The chef in that spot is well trained, I love very much eating all their dishes. The dishes are always tasty, the service towards the clients is helpful. I go often to this restaurant and I was never unhappy. Highly recommended.
Nice place and good food
Please do not visit there😎 ones you Go there you will Love it 🥳 Great Taste Yumiii
This place deserves the award it was given. I work locally and usually hate eating from the local places for a number of reasons, but Thakers is just what I was looking for! The food is beyond delicious and inside is very clean and modern. The staff are also very friendly. I am not Asian but Thakers made me want to try all the food on their menu. I highly recommend it. Yummy, vegetarian food and very reasonably priced, in spotless surroundings.
Nice ambience. Delicious food. Good place to spend time with family and friends. ..
Best Vegetarian Place I have ever been to in London yet! And they have the awards for it as well! Guess they’ve definitely earned that!
Nicely cooked excellent hygiene standards very spicy
Best Indian street food. A bit small but can have 20-25 people seated. Don’t miss their paneer wrap and masala chai.
Small portion size very busy
Great vegetarian takeaway
Amazing really tasty vegetarian thali would highly recommend it the food was very tasty
Wonderful amazing veg food
Tasty Indian food
Indian slow cooked food served fast in a takeaway style. Open quiet late and servers a good selection of food catering for most people. Tables to sit and chat with an interesting decor.
The ambience is something very quirky and catchy. Kudos to the interior designer, each table showcases the history of the Thaker family and captures the zeitgeist of the 80s -90s Mumbai. My partner loves the Aloo Paratha and Soya Biryani. One of the best places to eat in Hounslow.
I love Thakers, it is genuinely my favourite restaurant. We have been coming for several years now. Quality of the food is always fantastic, with consistent flavour and presentation.I love bringing friends and sharing things from the menu. Everyone is always pleased with the bill. Plenty of Vegan options.I hope to see Thakers open more stores while keeping to the high standard of their original store.
This long established curry house offers great food at reasonable prices. The owner, Bruce, is always on hand to provide a friendly greeting and his staff are attentive. Great food with a nice ambiance- most times I end up in conversation with an adjoining table! Well worth a visit if you are in the area
