Most of the people in Hojai do not know that there are only one Sikari gate but there are two Sikari gate in Hojai city. One is on the Hojai Jamuhandal road and another one is on the Hojai Neelbagan road. Here Sikari mean Hunter and history I came to know from a few older persons goes like this...many years back those places was covered by deep forests and during that period a wood cutter killed a Tiger alone with his Axe..so the name becomes hunter gate..how far it is true I am not sure.
