As vegan, its really hard to find a pub that does vegan food. If they do its normally a burger or mushroom something. The vegan choices here are great and really tasty. I had the BBQ Jack Fruit potato skins which were delicious and the vegan steak! Well worth a try if you are vegan!

Lovely pub for families.Service was great, if a little slow but Tara our waiting staff was on her own handling many tables with a smile and a great friendly attitude. The play area is a great size with swings, slide and wooden climbers and all tables had an umbrella. The play area could do with some shade though.Food was good and came out quick. Will definitely go again.

Great place for the family. The childrens adventure park bit is fantastic.Parents can drink a beer in peace whilst the little munchkins keep themselves busy. Its a clear view also. So no need to get paranoid where theyve gotten themselves.Only gone for drinks and a few bowls of chips. But the portions I saw others eating seemed adequate and smelt quite nice 👌Good largers on tap.

This was a bit of a find.Very friendly accomodating staff (serving a group of 40 of us without batting an eyelid!)The food was delicious (I had a burger, he had steak and the smalls had fish fingers which went down VERY well). Also was a good-looking menu of options for next time. The best thing about the pub though, was the enormous pub garden complete with a great kids playground which kept them busy and left us time to eat and enjoy the peace!

This pub is always good for service with a lovely friendly team that look after you. We ate inside on a very busy Sunday and the young guy looking after us was brilliant. Food is very nice and we had roasts and the veggie roast and all had puds. It’s a busy place and lots of families but we always enjoy a visit here, dog friendly as well so what more could you want. So glad it’s local enough to walk to. Thanks to all the team.

Plesent family pub. Large outdoor area with covered seating and play area for kids, service is excellent but can be slow when busy, but I guess that would be expected. Standard pub menu with service charge added automatically. Unless Im mistaken I couldnt find any prices on the drinks menu which had to be asked for. This is based on 4 visits since pubs came out of lockdown.

Poor table service staff dont know there drinks .Asked what whiskeys they did and they thought jack Daniels and Kentucky bourbon is a whiskey, eventually found out they did two malt whiskeys once I ordered they then came back and said they didnt have the said whiskey so asked for another one but they only had on shot left! These whiskey were common and not hard to source ( Glenfiddich and Glenmorangie) had one drink and left

After I messed up our booking (right time, wrong day🤦🏻‍♂️) The folks here did an amazing job to squeeze us a table over a fully-booked weekend. You could see the team were working under stressful conditions but handled it all really well. The food and drinks came out in good time despite the number of patrons, and it was delicious. Special shout out to who I presume is the manager who was running the show from behind the bar like an absolute boss. 🙌

This pub is a great example of half measures. You would think with a name like The Farmers, there would be a wealth of fresh food, well cooked but nothing is further from the truth. Lets start however with the environment.Of course, everyone in the country is in the same boat in terms of eating and drinking outdoors and so many venues have gone to good lengths to make the experience as pleasant as possible. Not The Farmers, they have managed to put up a marquee, but half the area is fully covered, the other half has a gaping 1m hole at the bottom where they have chosen to not deal with the fact their decking area is over two levels, so wind and rain whips through around your legs. How about if you are dining in the evening and perhaps would like some light? Youll be out of luck unless dining in the gloom is your thing. And forget about any heaters, blankets or anything else to help ease your chill, so make sure, if by some reason you feel you should go, that you wrap up warm. One last thing, the signs for no smoking or vaping, pointless. Guests ignore them, staff ignore the guests ignoring the signs, so expect while relaxing to sit in a fog of cigarette and vape smoke, just like 2006!The food hardly makes the experience any better. Thick, lifeless batter on the salt and pepper squid, black pudding that would lose in a contest against cardboard, a beef hash on the specials menu that would be an embarrassment to a greasy spoon and an inedible banoffee pie with the weirdest cream Ive had the displeasure to try. This is a pub getting so far ahead of themselves they have forgotten the basics, like taste the food you are sending out. My advice, get rid of your specials, retreat to a few, much simpler dishes so you can get the basics right and cook, cook and cook again until you have some semblance of decency. And think so carefully about your guests comfort too. Until then I would avoid.

Sunday lunch - place was quite busy. Guy with specs greeted us as we came in and made us feel welcome. Food took a while to arrive, but thats because there were several family groups of 6 or more so understandable. Food was in generous portions and well cooked; beware if you order the ploughmans as its gigantic and even bigger than the mains. Prices are also good - we had 2 mains and 1 lunch for £43. Would recommend a try if you want a nice atmosphere with large meals at a budget and friendly staff.

Lunch at the Farmers today was a mixed experience. Service, although a little slow, was excellent. It was busy in the pub but our waiter was extremely polite and friendly. The menu is pretty good and as vegiterian, the choice was good. Prices are a little cheaper than average but the portion was a little small. I had vegetarian shepherds pie and my wife, the blackbean burger special which, although tasty, was way too small to fill the delicious brioche bun. The coleslaw garnish was lovely but again not enough. My shepherds pie was less well executed being dry and a little lacking in taste. The accompanying vegetables were overcooked and dry. I asked for some gravy which arrived promptly and definitely improved my dish.

I had driven past this pub a couple of times and it looked really nice from the outside and after reading the reviews I decided to book a table for an evening meal. The pub was as nice inside as it looked on the outside and the staff were accommodating and also friendly. What really let the evening down was the food. 2 rare steaks came out seconds away from being well done, the peppercorn sauce tasted like burnt gravy, my girlfriend ordered the lasagne and that was dry and burnt, a friend ordered a burger and that was also way overcooked and dry, 2 other people ordered the cajun chicken and that was bland and boring. When we were asked how the food was ,we did say the steak wasnt cooked how we asked and the waitress said she would inform the kitchen, however we never heard any follow up.We had ice cream for dessert (as this isn’t cooked) and that was fine, and the beer was good and the selection of spirits.Everything about this pub was fine, nice place, clean, friendly staff but the food was awful. I’m sure we were unlucky, however at £40 a head for an awful meal is a high price to pay. We weren’t in a position to start sending food back as people had 2 hour + journeys home. I did email the pub privately regarding this matter, as I didn’t want to plaster how bad my experience was online. Unfortunately my email wasn’t even acknowledged so I decided to not be so courteous and let you all know how my evening was there.
