The food is good. The one star review is because of the Indian male manager. His behavior was rude and beyond creepy! He would not leave my 5 year old son alone throughout or entire time there. He kept trying to get his attention and talk to him. At first we laughed it off, but the guy WOULD NOT STOP! Then he brings us the check and tells us: cash tips. When we gave the tip on the credit card he stopped my husband and told him we could cancel transaction so he could give him a cash tip! What the? I have tried to contact his boss or the owner with no success so i must leave a poor review. To whomever is in charge: get rid of the creepy manager! Btw the only reason we left a tip at all after all of that was for the lady from the kitchen that brought out our plates and food. I hope she got the majority of it!

Renovated Hotel. Buffet is good. Two Negative things 1.More spicy in food , Hard for kids to eat, 2. Dessert wasnt good. Curd rice was so cool. It seems like took from fridge and kept. Weekend please be there at 12:30 Max else u have to be in line.

This place never fails to amaze me from awesome food to the best best staff this restaurant is surely a delight.I have been there twice once i dined in and ordered chicken malai tikka and vegetable dum biryani.The way the sizzling tikka with hot smoke came to the table was amazing,the biryani was also yummy.Next time i went in for buffet with my one year old baby and their staff is one of the best i have ever come across they helped me with my plate since i had my baby in my arms and treated me like a VIP.They also offered to take care of my baby so i can enjoy my meal and also gave my baby a complimentary mango lassi.The buffet was awesome they had a huge variety and my most favorite was chicken69.When i was done with my lunch and was heading out one of the server came out with an umbrella since it was raining, seriously i have never such awesome staff they treat you like family.I would highly highly recommend this restaurant to all the families since the restaurant is kids friendly.

We went on a Saturday afternoon for the buffet.It was an impressive spread from breakfast items like dosa,idli to main entrees like chicken and mutton curries to veg curries, mango lassi and desserts like halwa, kheer. This review is for the Friday lunch buffet. Rice Kheer for dessert seriously? Except chicken appetizer none of the items stood out. Spicy food which I liked but has no flavor. Tables set up is weird for buffet. They should stick to serving at tables and remove buffet. Glad I spent only $10.99.

No wonder they are the Best Indian restaurant in the area. Went there with a group of 10 members and everyone in my group loved their ambiance and especially the flavor of their food and authenticity. Being from South India, I can definitely say this is more than authentic. This is their first location in VA and have many locations in USA. Would recommend this place to everyone.

Service quick and satisfactory. Food was good and was close to being authentic.However their seating at the far end of the restaurant needs to be relooked at. The chairs get so close to the next table that your elbows touch! Zero privacy! I would visit again but sit on a different table.Note: photo attached does *not* show this table.

I went there to place a to go order. One plate of vada and chilly garlic fried rice. There was a good wait time for the food to come.The restaurant looks well maintained and clean. The vada was ok. I expected more, but it didnt taste any better than the frozen vadas sold in Indian stores. But the accompanying sambar and chutney were good.The Veg chilly garlic fried rice was OILY. Every grain of rice and veggies in it were dripping of oil. It also lacked the punch of garlic fried rice.And I dont think they gave anything to go with it.

We ordered the sukkha goat, lamb curry, chicken chetinnad, mini idlis, paneer tikka, chole bhature and drums of heaven. Everything was fresh, the meat was cooked properly and not dry. The bhatura was fresh and enormous, crispy and looked so good. My only caveat is they did not have the pomfret I wanted (which can happen since its fish and needs to be fresh), otherwise the service was also excellent. The chefs came out themselves to explain the dishes. O, there was not just coconut chutney but also ginger/coconut chutney. Yummy and delightful experience.

The food is very flavorful, but it was not hot. If the food was hot, I would give it 4 solid stars. Keep in mind the food is a little spicy. They have a nice variety of vegetarian, chicken, fish and goat dishes on the buffet.

I recently tried Dharani for lunch. I must say it was a wonderful experience. When we first walked in we were greeted and shown to our table. The decor was inviting and the location was very clean. Service was good from the start.We were quite impressed with the variety of dishes offered at the buffet. I have been to other Indian restaurants which dont have nearly as many dishes. They also had very good desserts.Over all my experience was excellent and the food was worth coming back for. I will definitely put this restaurant in my rotation.

Decor was good food was good as well. Service could have been faster, but since the place is new I suspect the staff just hasnt found their groove yet.Would definitely go again.Suggestion: butter chicken looked spicy but was sweet. I know butter chicken is generally not spicy, but it also cannot be sweet, thats a big no-no!

Went for happy hour on friday and it is not crowded at 7pm. However, families started coming at 8 pm. The place serves both Indian and American alcoholic drinks. Staff are friendly and delayed in taking order. Not visible from Elden Street and there is limited parking in the front the place shares parking area with other stores. Food is decent and felt quantity is small.

The food was amazing. But there was a bit of a language barrier with the waiter. They charged all of us for naan bread that we didnt receive. And the were a few other discrepancies on some of our parties bills.But the food was outstanding.

Tried only lunch buffets (south indian) couple of times on weekdays with office colleagues in last 3 months.We found it tastes good, not too hot/spicy for Americans colleagues. Its getting better over time so kudos to the chef & support staff working here!👏

We had a great experience! Food was freshly made — crispy samosas, tasty mushroom pepper fry appetizer. There are a lot of diverse menu options and we took two vegetarian dishes and one chicken dish — all three were delicious and perfectly spiced! And excellent service! We have tried several Indian restaurants in the area in the past, and this one is the best we’ve had.

Dharani gave us the most delightful Valentine’s Day dinner we could imagine. The restaurant was festively and tastefully decorated with pastel colored balloons, rose petals on the tables, and the napkins arranged in goblets on the tables like long-stemmed roses. It was a very elegant scene! They made the meal even more romantic by offering a complementary glass of wine for each guest and presenting each lady with a long-stemmed red rose at the end of the meal. Valentine’s decorations aside, the dining room is a very elegant setting on its own: marble-topped tables, plush upholstered chairs, crystal chandeliers. Service is very courteous and attentive. Dharani’s menu is very extensive, with a broad selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian appetizers and entrees. The cocktail menu is far better than most other restaurants, of any ethnicity and they have a broad selection of liquors. The food was deliciously seasoned, although, the level of spiciness at Dharani tends to be hotter than I have grown used to at other Indian restaurants. The chili paneer was very spicy hot, even at a “mild” level of seasoning. Gobi Kothimera appetizer (cauliflower in a dry cilantro dressing) was out of this world. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our entrees and the Onion Kulcha bread. We were only passing through Herndon for the weekend, but I would be eager to return to this fine restaurant with every future visit! Thank you for a memorable evening!

Easily the finest Indian restaurant in Herndon, and arguably the best in the Elden Street, Herndon. The decor are attractively furnished so theres usually plenty of room. Prices are relatively modest, especially given the quality. The buffet is an exceptional bargain broad range of delicacies, including wonderful desserts. The reason for my rating is 5 star since this Indian Cuisine is “a relaxing and family friendly eatery that serves the finest and freshest Indian food at affordable prices.”

I came in Dharani with my family today for weekend lunch buffet. Wow just amazing ambience, great service with tasty food and varieties of veg as well as non veg items. I liked Goat Pappu Charu and Andhra style Chicken Curry. I would recommend everyone to go and try the food here. You would love it. I will definitely come back with my friends and family here.

I may have visited this restaurant for the 10th time by now but never occurred that I should give my review specially when the food is 5 star quality!What me and my family like about this restaurant is that the lunch menu is quite different from what you would conventionally find in other Indian restaurants..Not just the menu is unique but each item has its unique taste and flavor be it the main course, desserts or appetizers. Get there between 430 and 6:30 PM on a weekday, they have excellent happy hour prices on food and drinks. Everything we had was very good.

These people are adding chicken in vegetarian dishes and restaurant people are not at all concerned about these. I have ordered baby corn manchuria and I am pure vegetarian, I found 4 pieces of chicken in baby corn manchuria. I told to management and they are so irresponsible in answering. Finally we left immediately after that.

Hit or Miss! Ambience is decent, worth mentioning when compared to lot of other Indian restaurants in this place but food isn’t consistent. I had biriyanis from here multiple times, sometimes it is good, sometimes it isn’t. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend this place to my friends.

Initially it was awesome but today there are not many choices and not so tasty.. too much salt and spicyI revised the rating as I was satisfied that some one responded to my review.

We didnt like services and taste of the food. We ordered Dosa and Idly but both were not so tasty as expected. Sambhar was too thick to be consumed with Idly/Dosa. Neither does was coconut chutney. Services were slow. Good things which we liked were cleanliness and ambience of the restaurant. They have maintained their restaurant and their restroom well. Hope they will work on improving the food quality.

Hopeless service and will have to wait minimum hour to see your food. The best food service order I have experienced, first they will serve main course and in the end youll be served appetizers. Servers will do their best to stay away from you and avoid our frustration. Plan of feeding kids at home first with some snacks before going to this place, as they might starve and sleep empty stomach (thats what happened to my kids) and packed their choice of ordered food. Good luck friends and hopefully, you dont experience the same. Food is below average and over priced. I wouldnt recommend nor encourage any of my friends to this place, and worth trying other options.

The food quality was good and staff was also courteous, however the desserts were kind of ok, good for non vegetarians, not much for vegetarians as usual.Have visited this 4 times now and expectations are same, food is good but desserts can be worked on
