This review is about the bar on the roof, not the hotel itself. It does have a nice vibe, a cozy atmosphere and a calming view, but the prices are ridiculously high!! 130 EGP for a simple RTD that only sells for 35 EGP? 75 EGP for a Meister beer? Not to mention that half of the items on the menu are not available.Oh, and you pay 28% extra on the prices listed on the menu for taxes and service, which is a really disingenuous move. This is Egypt, not the USA, list the full price!At least this bar gets a point for offering shots instead of having to pay for a whole bottle, which is kind of uncommon in Egyptian bars.

Great hotel, friendly staff. Whenever possible, I would eat there as the food is very good. Delivered to my room in under 15 mins. Location is central, cant be beat!

Best bar in Egypt sofar

My All time favorite place!Cozy, Relaxing, Lovely and quiet.Closes at 3 Am.No cocktails unfortunately.The waiters are so slow most of the time, but it doesnt bother me.Unfortunately they raised the prices recently, but the minimum is still the lowest compared to others.

I love Al Horreya for many reasons i.e. its a bit cozy and seems familiar, relevantly affordable and you have an air conditioned area and a lovely spacious Terrace. They are a bit slow but I can actually get over this, their food is okay but not a place to have a tasty dinner, you can grab a bite if youre hungry or like to have some crackers with your drink. I just feel Im comfortable in this place and thats why my rating goes to 4

I love this simple rooftop. Reasonable prices for frequent hangouts. You don’t have a lot of similar places around heliopolis. The service might be slow. The terrace is not huge so you might end up sitting inside though, where there’s a weird old vibe and it fills up with smoke easily.

An awesome cozy place to grab a beer and some quality time with friend(s), with a variety of settings options you can sit on the rooftop terrace with the open view of Heliopolis, sit on the old fashion bar, indoor table & couches or sit at their dimmed light bar room for a private chitchat.Their prices are reasonable and their service attendants are so friendly..Sometimes its very busy and other times its okay.The best thing that i like in that place is that it havent changed since my parents were dating some 40 years ago :)Marvelous ceilings, awesome floor patterned ceramic and amazing old fashioned bar chairs with wood padded walls everywhere that reminds you with the good old days that we (youth generations that go there now) never experienced !

Couldnt be worse no matter how they try. The bar/coffeeshop sucks so bad, 90%of the menu is not available and the service is extremely slow and the staff is very unfriendly. Avoid like the plague

I stayed at this beautiful hotel for a very long time (3 to 4 nights weekly x 40 weeks) starting in Feb-18 and until mid October-18.The hotel service and cleanliness became a benchmark for me, which - to my amazement- was able to stand up and challenge even the level of service and cleanliness presented in 5-star hotels I stayed at in Cairo such as Hilton Heliopolis & Renaissance New Cairo.Although the rooms are very simple and missing some ameneties such as shampoo and shower gel (you only get several bars of soap), ironing facilities etc...which you find in 5-star hotels, yet you get the best value for money, with the rooms having the main things needed for a decent stay. The rooms are spacious, and most of them with balconies overlooking one of the 2 streets in the front or back, good cleanliness, good service from a really friendly staff, an amazing location in the most luxurious street in Heliopolis, all this for a really cheap price per night.The owners also are doing their best to refurbish the older rooms one by one and they did a good job painting the walls, furniture, and putting flat screen tvs in most of the rooms (ask me about that because I think I stayed in every single room at the hotel :D). The biggest issues you might run into is having to wait for a few minutes for water to heat up, or having a small part of the wall paint falling off, all are minor issues you can sacrifice for the small amount you are paying.I just moved to live in the UK, however Im writing this review to thank everyone at the hotel for what I saw during my long stay with them.I wholeheartedly recommend the hotel for staying if you are not willing to spend a large amount of money and get a decent service in exchange.

Its a nice bar on the roof. a local one more to sitting in your balcony enjoying the nice breeze but with a drink and being served.

Terrible service, rude waiters. I complained about waiting for almost 30 minutes just to get someone to take my order, and my complaint was met with anger from the waiter. When I asked to speak to the manager, the waiter rudely dismissed my request and left me mid-conversation. Their justification was that they were changing shifts. Not recommended. Go to the nearby Karvin for a much better rooftop experience in Heliopolis.

Amazing retro style bar on the roof top ... it is simply amazing ... like being in a time capsule ... service was not that good but it was expected and i dont mind it ... we sat inside the lighting was really bright for a bar bust somehow it was actually nice so one could see all the details of the furniture and interior .... beer was reasonably priced at 40 pounds which you do not get anywhwre in cairo anymore unless you arenin a downtown ... this place is highly recommended
