Stopped in for breakfast during the week. Not very crowded. However the food was really good. I had the Blueberry French Toast. It’s ciabatta with a lite blueberry compote. Very good. Salmon plate well presented and good as well. Had a little confusion with an order of Little French Toast for my daughter. It was served without syrup. When I asked for some, the staff said it would be 75 cent up charge. Not having the menu handy, we didn’t know that it should have been included so my daughter ate it plain. Kind of put a damper on breakfast.
This place needs some work. It has some benefits like being in the heart of the strip district and toasting their sandwiches upon request, however, the whole meal was significantly lower quality than I expected. The potatoes were wildly undercooked, flavorless, and soggy on the outside. Fixing the potatoes would be a good starting point for improvement. Their tomato mozzarella and prosciutto sandwiches were both extremely oily. Did they toast them with the potatoes?! The prosciutto sandwich was also unbelievably salty. This was my second time coming here and I am sad to have been disappointed again. Don’t even get me started on the orange juice. I think I’ve had better orange juice on planes than here.
The burgers are sooooo good! I went expecting to order a salad but their burger descriptions were too enticing. Loved having the breakfast-style fried potatoes and homemade pickle on the side. We sat on the roof and enjoyed the breeze and the view over the Strip. Cant wait to go back and try something different.
Fun place, sitting on 2nd floor porch overlooking the street below. Great food, excellent blueberry pancakes and PB&J on grilled chaplain bread. Staff were great too! Highly recommend when in the Strip District
This place is so good it’s insane. The breakfast was unbelievable- get the bacon please for the love of god. Pay whatever they charge you it’s worth it
If youre looking for a great place to eat, look no further! Cafe Raymond offers a delicious, fresh and made from scratch menu that will satisfy even the pickiest pallets
Honestly deserves more stars. Everything is farm to table and local and FRESH! Had the roast beef which was unreal. The gal had a burger that was off the chain. A MUST go if you are in the strip district. Will make it a point whenever Im back Im Pittsburgh to eat again!
The best blueberry ricotta pancakes ever!!!! I have never had such a nice pancake! Booze was also available on site which was nice. I found the potatoes to be a little salty for my taste. The bacon was very well made, crisp. My husband got a nice sandwich for his brunch and we shared together. I am definitely gonna come back for the pancakes! Yum!
Very underrated clean place nice environment very good breakfast and no wait like DaLucas overrated breakfast next door
DELICIOUS FOOD PERIOD! The veggie wrap is bursting with flavor with zucchini, squash, roasted red peppers and spinach. Comes with mini potato wedges. Also shown is a mini key lime pie! Very tasty! Great vibes, 2 floors with an upper rooftop dining area that overlooks the strip district. An elevator is available for those who cant do steps. Restrooms on 2nd floor and basement level. They used to offer complimentary water but no longer. They also offer some fancy mixed beverages like a bloody maria that was very flavorful. All ingredients including the celery are minced into the beverage. Check this place out! Enjoy!
First experience at Cafe Reymond. Ive walked by their location several times but never been in. The menu is well curated; they have a nice selection of burgers, sandwiches, salads, and breakfast. Everything on the menu sounds worth trying. I had their Blues Burger that was well prepared, definitely tasted homemade and fresh with bacon and a fantastic blue cheese sauce on it. Certainly enough to fill you up. Staff was friendly and the place has a good atmosphere. Definitely one of the better burgers Ive had locally.
Wonderful fast casual place in the strip district. We were there for breakfast with a whole big family. From my 91 year old mom to my tweener kids everyone found something to eat and loved it. The service was also great!!
The atmosphere was warm, the service was prompt and pleasant and the food was wonderful.
Lovely little place and the food is really good, this is going to be my favorite breakfast/lunch restaurant right now. It’s simple and fresh.
My favorite brunch place in Pittsburgh! Cant go wrong with whatever you order. I personally am a big fan of the burgers and love the everything comes with their home fries. They have their own homemade hot sauce, which is also incredible especially with the home fries.
Wow!!! This place was not the original game plan but I am so happy it ended up being our spot for lunch. This was easily one of the best burgers I have ever had!!! The thing was MASSIVE. The potatoes were amazing too! Good coffee & teas, as well. Would highly recommend giving this place a try- I will definitely be back.
I have dined at Raymonds on the strip for 5 years. He started in a small place with 5 tables. He moved to this much larger 2 floor dining over 2 years ago. He still only cooks breakfast and lunch. It is as excellent today as in the beginning. Go and enjoy; you deserve it.
Delicious breakfast! Pancakes and French toast were fabulous! Highly recommend.
The potatoes are great here. Got an omelette that was very good and sat outside but overall a nice casual place in the strip to grab a bite while stocking up for the week.
Great food. Their croissants are amazing and blueberry ricotta pancakes are worth a try!
The club sandwich was good. The customer service was terrible.
We had lunch here and our sandwiches were excellent. We will definitely be back!
Delicious food!! Highly recommend trying one of their burgers and definitely dont miss out on their blueberry ricotta pancakes. Definitely will be back to try more from their menu!
Loved the bluberry ricotta pancakes 🥞
Guys Breakfast was perfect, and the blueberry ricotta pancakes that came with it were amazing!
2 waters, 3 sandwiches (one so sloppy impossible to pick up and the bacon couldnt be chewed). Once your food is down youre on your own as you pay before you find out its not remotely worth it.
Excellent attention to the client. Great service and very good food. There were a lot of people in line, and the food came quickly to the table.
A great place for breakfast and lunch. A wide variety of burgers, sandwiches and salads plus breakfast all day. If you arent sure, take a friend and get two breakfast options and share - like the house smoked brisket hash and french toast pictured here. Fantastic. You order and pay when you enter and they bring it to your table. Not fancy, but who needs fancy when it is this good)
Came by with a local friend for brunch Saturday morning. Man was it crowded. We came by the door and stood in the line for more than 20 minutes. It was an very inefficient line system we experience as there is only one person ringing in orders... It was Saturday... everyone wants brunch... Outside of that, I am a fan.Our number was up stairs. Asked to sit at the balcony and we had the best view of the entire stripe. We shared and love the Western omelette and Fresh toast. I am not a big fan of french toast but this blew my mind. A Must ordered. Omelet had super fresh ingredient, also one of the best I ever had. Amazing! Would come back again.
Trendy spot with great cocktails and excellent food. Enjoyed everything I had. Highly recommended!
We went to the monthly dinner here. Nice casual community feel to the restaurant. Good variety of food.
Excellent food and great service! The food is fresh and made from scratch. The owner and staff are all very friendly. Highly recommend if visiting the Strip District!
We stopped in for coffee at their take out bar and wow. I had the chai latte and my wife had a caramel latte. If their morning drinks are that good, I cannot wait ti try their food!
Oh. my. god.... this place was AMAZING! My only regret is that I couldnt fit more food in my stomach and that I havent been able to come back yet. If you are even somewhat in the area, this place is definitely worth the trip. You will NOT regret it. The food was fantastic and the service was great. The only down side is that the bathrooms are downstairs, so if you have difficulty with stairs, be forewarned.
Super cool spot to grab lunch. Easy to get and out. You order and pay when you first walk in, get assigned a table number, then sit at a table. When youre done eating, youre ready to head out right away.Super good selection of burgers, specialty sandwiches, and the best pasta salad Ive ever had! Great spot for brunch, lunch, or some light fare. Excellent catering as well!
Used to like this place. Now the service is very slow and the line takes forever. Plus the prices are very high now. $3.00 for a bottle of 16oz water. People cut in line.
So delicious! Amazing choices of drinks and really good Irish coffee. So many choices! And such a cute Cafe
So I got the house smoked brisket hash and people walking by stopped to ask what i ordered. The food was amazing and it filled me up just enough to not feel stuffed. The service was great and the employees really try to go out of their way to make sure you are accommodated despite this whole coronavirus thing going on. Honestly give this place a try. U cant go wrong!
Great food! Our party of four had burgers, muffeletta, french toast, and a chicken sandwich. Everyone raved about their order. A definite must!
Food was good but service wasn’t the best. It took time to get a refill on coffee but still overall a good experience.
Perhaps my fault to discover theyre not actually doing table services yet. More like a cafeteria that brings you food. Panera, but not as well because theyre not designed to be Panera. Had heard good things. Wont bother to go again. Food was not worth it.
Excellent breakfast menu! The concept is great, walk in -order & pay, they give you a number which they place at a table for you and bring your food when its ready. The upstairs has an elevator to access and is spacious with a deck for outside dining. The food was served promptly and was delicious - their croissants hold a whole omelette! The wait staff was extremely friendly, generous with the coffee refills and clearing the tables. Extra touches like self serve water carafes (regular and fruit infused) on each floor make it a cozy experience. Get there early on weekends (they open at 9 Sundays) and youll be in and out without a problem.
Why dont you guys have biscuits and sausage gravy on your breakfast menu nothing fancy or expensive ingredients just some good old fashioned buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy
Wow! What a great place, full of great food in a great setting. Try the iced Irish coffee.
Service and salad was good. But they seemed to be rationing the dressing. Big salad, thimble of dressing.
Nice atmosphere, elevator to the 2nd floor, outdoor or indoor tables, great choices for breakfast.
Great spot, loved upstairs seating, great food. Everything hit the spot. Definitel will be back
Nice atmosphere. Cashier wasnt the friendliest person in the world and throws attitude in your face. Food wasnt fantastic either. I had better food from a diner in a one room location before. Dont expect table service because nobody cares how your food is and if youre doing okay. Yins can enjoy this cafe because I wont be back.
Excellent food. Wait time was great. Overall fun time.
Very good breakfast and lunch spot! Blueberry Ricotta pancakes are amazing. Good variety of options on the menu.
Never been disappointed by quality of food and service. Huge portions. The Mediterranean salad is awesome!
Excellent food and good prices, highly recommend.
Fantastic! Delicious food great service! All around great place!
Nice place to eat a burger!
Quick service and served fantastic food. Prices were also reasonable
Food was good..hot and very tasty
Great burgers, I recommend the Farmhouse Burger. Its messy to eat but so good!
The food was delicious. Different style of ordering and seating than is usual for me however it seemed to work.
I just had the steakhouse burger. Excellent! 😋 service was good. Didnt wait long for my meal. And the potatoes were really good too. I dont get down to the strip very often but when I do, definitely be back.
I thought it was a great idea to try this small, hip family owned business. Food was great- had the salmon sandwich. I went here once before Christmas and again with my husband about a week ago. Before Christmas, the cashier was very short with me but not totally rude, I just thought it was an off day for her or covid annoyances. I tried Cafe Raymonds again a few days ago. When placing our order, the cashier/server (same person) was very short with us and downright rude. She never once said thank you or was the least bit nice until we were leaving. I thought she wanted to murder me and I was not complicated at all, I asked for creamer for my coffee. Too bad we had already given her a 20% tip for absolutely nothing. I will not go here again unless I want to risk my life, which I dont forsee. This business need a customer service 101 orientation.sorry if theres misspellings because I cannot see my typing.
Excellent food! And friendly service. My favorite place in the strip!
The food is just fantastic here. I dont love the order at the counter system, but it Id awesome
Coconut cream pie is to die for!
Im here every Saturday morning for breakfast, its my favorite breakfast spot. I recommend the brisket hash with scrambled eggs.
Food is fine and everything but they make you pay for bottled water?????? You can’t just get a cup of water for free. Isn’t this against the law?
I’ve only done breakfast here but it’s always delicious. Ricotta pancakes are my go to...don’t forget to try the hot sauce!
First time there. Very good, but pricey. I had the smoked salmon platter and he had the French toast with strawberry compote and sausage. I had a coffee with pumpkin cream that was tasty. He had a bottled orange juice and it was $41 with a 15 percent tip. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. Lively for a Sunday morning.
Mgt would rather B!@$ outincoming staff than actually instruct them on ANY level? If you dont believe it...ck former employee posts AND...what reputable small restaurant cant hire/ retain at $14/ hr + tips??!WHEN IN DOUBT...LOOK UP..!?
Went on advice from The John Batchelor Show. I dont like the location all that much. Make sure you check the hours before you go. Required more work than I thought to eventually get a meal.I like it even though under COVID the best aspects of it are likely not present regarding sitting down and being with more pleasant less anxious company. It really feels like it would make more sense located in a smaller city with less assuming company surrounding it from the chain restaurants, perhaps along the Lawrenceville stretch. Just felt out of place with the development around it.
We had lunch here while in town for the Chicago Cubs versus Pirates baseball games. We decided to walk to the Strip District, from our hotel near the Point State Park, to check out the many shops. We stopped in for lunch and found the service to be awesome and the food to be high quality. We were greeted at the door, our order quickly prepared and quickly delivered to our table.
Great spot for lunch!
A rather great breakfast spot in Pittsburgh’s Strip District. The other 700+ reviews will go into more specific detail, but all-in-all I wish the food came better prepared. It’s often lukewarm, never hot, and I’ve eaten here a dozen times. The dishes could also use more flavor and character. For example the Two Eggs Breakfast is really, really bland for it’s price.
Foods delicious out door dining was disgusting though with an abundance of flies and birds trying to eat my sandwich.
Great food. But absolute horrible service. I asked for toast with my meal and didn’t get it, a simple mistake. But when calling for the server to re-order my toast she looked at me and walked away. Now finally after finishing my meal and hailing the server we asked for my toast and a box then we received the toast but no box closed to 15 minutes later.
Super unfriendly counter girl when I went in Wednesday morning. She had an attitude when I asked her simple questions about the food I was ordering. Its also not the first time a worker there was rude to me. Management needs to hold a proper customer service meeting with their staff so they can brush up on their customer service techniques!!!!! Safe to say, We Wont be back. Rude!!!!
Really nice place to chill with friends and get some good food,,
Great burgers and plenty of seating upstairs.
Food was fine, but I could have made the same thing at home easily. But what made me mad was their bathroom policy and selective enforcement. We were sat right by the stairs that lead down to the bathroom. A mother and her daughter were about to walk down when the hostess stopped them and told them it was for customers only. The mother said they were going to buy something. The hostess told her that they need to buy something first. The mom and daughter left because they couldnt hold it long enough to stand in line. If youve been here on a Sunday morning, you know the line to buy food is about 20 minutes. How does the restaurant expect people to hold it that long? I understand having a customers only bathroom policy, but with a wait that long to buy food, they need leniency. After the mother and daughter left, the hostess was joking to the cashier about they expected to use the restroom without paying. Then I saw multiple people go down and use the bathroom before they got in line. Why didnt the hostess stop them?I wont be going back
I have had better sandwiches there. First time ordering off the breakfast menu...and it did not meet expectations. Mention to hostess the problem with the dish but she didnt seem interested. Maybe I just was there on an off day?
