14th centuries mandir made by gajghant rai

5 kms from Ghagra, the road is not too good after you leave the Highway but the surroundings of the temple is very beautiful. When you reach you firstly find the old temple which is broken and was the original temple built around 1000 years ago. The Banyan tree beside the temple is a proof for that as it has grown on the temple walls. The new temple is just 100 metres from there. Its a traditional Indian temple with strong beliefs. Do visit if you are in Gumla or Ghagra.

HAPAMUNI ,a famous and ancient village , is situated in Ghaghara block at about 12 km from the block headquarter on Gumla – Lohardaga road . MAHAMAYA temple that is the identity of this village was constructed by GAJGHAT RAY ,22nd king of NAGA dynasty and the son of RAJA MOHAN RAY . He ruled between 869to 905AD . He handed over the caring of the temple to his GURU HARINATH ,a Rashtrakuta (Marathi) Brahmin .In 1391 AD RAJA SHIVDAS KARN established an image of Lord VISHNU .CHAITANYA MAHAPRABHU(1445-1535AD) had chosen this way during his visit to MATHURA from JAGANNATH PURI at about 1485 A.D. According to Ranchi Gazetteer some tribal people had destroyed the old temple during undisciplined KOLH REBEL against the DIKU. Songs by VIRMU RAM proves this fact.

It is my favourite temple. Many people comes here to worship.

Happamuni Temple also known by the name of Mahamaya Mandir, just 4 km away from Tori Gumla Road, Built by ancient Nagvanshi Kings of Jharkhand centuries ago.People come here to complete their wishes.Very calm and divine place so must visit once in your lifetime.

HapamuniHapamuni, a famous and ancient village, is located about 12 km from the block headquarters on the Gumla-Lohardaga road in the Ghaghra block. The Mahamaya temple, which is the hallmark of this village, was built by Gajaghat Rai, the 22nd of the Naga dynasty and son of King Mohan Rai. He ruled from 869 to 905 A.D. He entrusted the care of the temple to his Guru Harinath, a Rashtrakuta (Marathi) Brahmin. In 1391 AD, King Shivdas Kar installed the statue of Lord Vishnu. Chaitanya Mahasabha (1445–1535) chose this way during his visit to Mathura.According to Ranchi Gazetteer in 1485 AD some tribal people destroyed the old temple during the undisciplined Kolha rebel against Diku . The songs of Veeramu Ram prove this fact.
