If I could give a zero I would they deserve a zero .This is the worst PetSmart I the whole city. They never have stock. Ive been waiting for a week for dog food. Everytime I go there its the same story it on order or its on the truck out back that they have been unpacking for the passed 5 days. Im done with pet smart in Bayers lake.

Pet Smart has everything. There staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.They taught me everything to take caree of my Goldfish!I have them in my new outdoor pong. Now I have to bring them into the house for winter.Their staff slowly took me through the steps of how to move them safely!Did you know Goldfish can grow up to 10 inches long!That knowledge was a WoWzer to me!

On June 26, 2021, I had our familys 8 month old puppy groomed at Pet Smart on Chain Link Drive in Halifax--my third visit. We have a sweet bichon frisee, and her hair was about an inch and a half long. I asked for a trim to even out her fur and to prepare her for a walking-filled outdoor family vacation. The groomer shared that it was a very busy day and that she would be ready in 3 hours. She called after two hours for pick up.Shockingly, I returned to a puppy who had been shaved very close to the skin. The groomer explained that she had a number of matted areas on her neck and body, and thus had no choice but to take her fur to the lowest length. I was horrified at the sight of a bald puppy, who immediately looked in pain when I picked her up. She was not cuddly, as usual and looked as though in pain. But I was even more so shocked and distressed when we brought her home. Her behavior shifted radically: She was skiddish for the first time, incessantly itching, and up the entire night moving, barking, irritable. She moved constantly, as if in pain. Today -- the day after --, she is the same: sad and not at all playful, moving and twitching, and her skin is increasingly red at her spine. In less than a day, she is no longer the sweet, cuddly, playful, confident puppy we left for grooming at Pet Smart yesterday. My family is deeply, deeply distraught.Today, I spent hours (on vacation) reading about what could be wrong, and found that 1) her coat should never have been taken down so low as it causes great irritation and discomfort for many bichons, 2) that the close shearing makes her skin more vulnerable to sunburn and sensitivity, and 3) that bichon hair (with some normal matting )simply needs gentle detangling care with spray and combing. A number of bichon care resources I studied also warned about the danger of her hair growing back irregularly as a result of such unnecessarily short shearing.I am disappointed that the groomer carelessly removed all of our puppys fur and caused such great distress for our sweet puppy and also for our family. I am angry at the lack of professionalism displayed by the groomer who hastily sheared the puppy on a busy day rather than taking the time to care properly for her fur and groom her fur as our breed of puppy needed. I am frustrated that the groomer did not simply call to say that she felt our puppy was too matted for a trim; I would have happily picked her up to prevent the distress the groomer ultimately caused. I am tired after a sleepless night and during a much-needed vacation, that will need now to attend to our distressed puppy. And I have been hustled for $70 that deserves to be reimbursed. We deserve an apology and Pet Smart needs to train its groomers with greater compassion and knowledge of breeds that cannot, should not be cut to the skin. At the very least, Pet Smart groomers must be forthright with information regarding the risks of such shearing before we turn our beloved pets over into their care. We the customers need to be able to make the final, informed decisions about shearing, and certainly, I would never have made such a choice with proper information about the likelihood of such harm to our puppy.

Went in search for an air filter but they dont sell them,so i had to stick with my old Filter. I only need a cartridge and couldnt buy one single so had to buy a box with many in them that i would never even go threw that many in a lifetime,and paying a pretty high price. They also dont sell the tubes i need separate also,that they told me i would have to buy another filter all together.!

Please avoid this place for Grooming.I request an appointment through their app. I confirmed all my dog details and upload a picture of his vaccine record to make sure that everything was ready for his appointment the day after.My appointment was today April 26 at 8:00 am.I arrived to the place in time but I was not sure if they were open. I wait in my car with my dog for 2 mins... then I decided to go because I saw 2 people inside the store.The greeter was very polite, she kindly let me in and said that Jess D. (The Team Leader) was waiting for me. I went into the Grooming section at 8:05 am and I had to wait for Jess to open the place, put everything where it needed to be... turn on her computer and check in for my dog appointment ... by that time it was 8:11am already. She asked me for his Rabies vaccines records and I said oh yes let me check, because last-night I upload it to the application. She said the Pet-smart application usually does not work!!Unfortunately I couldn’t find it and I said to her...My dog has his Rabies Tag Collar from the vet or we can call the vet because I forgot the hard copy of the certificate at home. But I live 5 minutes from here. I can go and bring it while you take him in. She said she can’t. Which I understand because they need the proof of vaccine. She tried to call the Vet but of course they are closed. In the mind time my dog was very anxious because as other dogs he does not enjoy his Grooming sessions.She told me she has to cancel the appointment and we can reschedule... I ask her if I can go home and bring the certificate... My house is honestly 5 minutes from the store. She cancelled my appointment without hesitation and ask me to reschedule for tomorrow or when she can give me the appointment. At this point I got furious because I am a health care worker right now helping the city with all the Covid 19 issues. I said ok no I won’t reschedule and I left very upset.PETSMART AND TEAM LEADER JESS...IF I REQUEST THIS APPOINTMENT AT THIS TIME and at this location is because I am busy helping with all the rise of Covid Cases and volunteering extra hours to help and make sure that all the Swabs for the people are being processed with my help.I am working a lot to help a community that won’t help me with my dog??Please help your community be kind with everybody... because we health care workers are helping you and your love ones during this crazy times!!!It is an unfortunate event and I feel very sorry for the store and the kind of staff they bring there.I hope Jess D...That you take your time next time to be kinder to your clients because you don’t know what’s going on in someone’s life at the moment and if this is how you treat me... I don’t even want to imagine how you will treat my dog!SAD very SAD

Erin took great care of our nervous dog when he went in for grooming. She was so patient and friendly, and the somewhat technical/challenging cut was absolutely perfect.We’ll definitely be going to see Erin again :)

I called in earlier to inquire until what time they are open, they are open until 9, I arrived 8:15 in the night because of my work schedule, and was refused when I was buying a pet, I offered to pay for the pet I want and pick it up the next day, since they refuse to sell for me, they declined they said there is no staff to attend to me, next day took halfday to get there, and since I do not want to stress the pet I said is there a way since I am buying everything, I will put together the habitat and the pet can go straight there, I got a very hostile no as again they do not have enough staff, funny how you want business, I was ready to spend money for everything that day but nobody assisted to offer what all the pets need, staff seem to be too generic and robotic. If I did not promise my children this I wouldnt even bother, if there are other pet store I will opt for that. I will not come back if I can avoid them. Very disappointed.

Went to go check out thier reptiles about two weeks ago. They had a baby fancy corn snake and a baby ball python. I had noticed neither snakes had water so I asked an employee to get water for the snakes when the employee did get water for them they employee slammed the rack closed harshly causing half the water to spill out of the bowl. Not to mention the reptiles are kept right next to the rodents. Overall not happy

Friendly staff and lots of choice in food, litter and toys for cats and dogs. Theres a wide selection of tanks in the back as well as some fish and a few reptiles. We adopted our second cat through PetSmart from the Spca. She is a senior cat, she was staring at me through the glass with scared and sad eyes. Giving her the comfort and love she deserves as a little old lady cat!

Amazingly quick with the new app. If only other stores had this my life would be much easier. I shop online as much as possible and I think PetSmart is the most efficient.

Great pet store with fantastic selection. The only place we can find the specific food we need for our cats. Service is always friendly and quick. Love that they partner with the SPCA for adoptable cats as well, one of our fur babies came from this store!

We got some goldfish there. They were a very good price. We had to wait a while before there was someone available to help us due to some other customers. They had a nice variety of colours for the fish. A big store. Had lots of stuff. Would definitely go back oftener if I lived closer.

This is a really great spot to get excellent quality pet supplies. I personally love the selection of dog products and would suggest setting a limit before going in, bc its kinda like being a kid in a candy store.

Helpful employees and good basic dog training courses, the dog groomers are very good, always accommodating and the price is affordable.

If youre looking for a choker collar for your dog dont visit the Bayers Lake location cause they dont have a very big selection. Other than that its just another pet store chain.

The greater was fantastic, but once you get past him it goes down hill I went there to purchase fish, i wasnt sure what was alive dead or on there death bed the tanks was polluted with fish carcasses dead snails frogs and other life. Will Not Be Back the pet smart in dartmouth crossing is the way to go if you want fish or something for your other pets.

I find they dont really carry much of a selection of stuffed toys tbh.

People were nice and I love Petsmart but when went to get terrarium for my first ev gecko, the guy told me I needed all this stuff (heat lamps, etc) and I spent $80 that I didn’t need and shouldn’t need cuz they’d actually harm my new baby gecko.

I got a betta fish from pets unlimited that lived many years before it died. Long after the store shut down.The betta fish I got at petsmart barely lived a year.They sell sick animals and false information and I would highly recommend going to a different pet store for live animals and to research all your questions online.

Employees are extremely awesome. Some people say they could be more knowledgeable, those people have obviously never worked retial. You can only know what you have been trained in. The employees are awesome for the little requirements/pay needed/given in a retail job. Better than A LOT of stores. I always have an excellent experience in this store. They have lots of selection and always have good seasonal items as well.

Good place to buy small animal supplies and fish food.

This was my go to Pet Store until a recent mix up that left me travelling over an hour and a half in total there and back to have my dogs nails clipped. I was told to arrive by 6:30 at the latest. Got there at 6:30 and was told their groomers had left for the night and that the salon actually closed at 6:30, so I should have come in by 6:00 at the latest. Frustrating was an understatement. Before this we had travelled in to get some clippers. They had none. Was told to come back the next day as they were receiving a shipment overnight. Came back the next day and still no clippers... Asked the staff and was told they had no idea when they’d have them in stock again and that whoever gave me the information was incorrect. Better communication to their staff would be appreciated so they could give correct info to customers!

Excellent variety of choices in dog/cat food!

Other than a great selection of both pets (mostly lizards, birds, fish, hamsters, etc) and pet supplies, the staff is great! They are all quite knowledgeable and can answer all kinds of questions regarding your pets and their needs. We got our first bearded dragon from them about a year ago and they have helped us a lot along the way with any concerns we had regarding his diet, health, activity and so much more.

They take great care of my dog when he going to the spa. My dog loves to go there it makes him very happy.

This location has a very good selection of treats and toys. My greyhound loves to browse the aisles to pick out new things. No pokestops or gyms in reach so that is a bummer.

I Love the ease of using the website to order online and pickup in store. My order was ready almost immediately and the clerk had no trouble finding it when I arrived to pick it up.

Its a decent PetSmart. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable as far as PetSmarts go. It was a little understaffed when my wife and I went so it was hard to find help when getting animals but that isnt the staffs fault. It could have been the time of day when we went in.

Store has an overall good selection and layout. However, while the employees are generally friendly, I find them to be rather condescending. I tell them what I’m looking for and they answer with a bunch of questions that I’d already sorted out on my own. They disregard any knowledge I have on a topic based on research and experience, then regurgitate information from store manuals.

I took my 14 month old Husky for his first grooming experience at the PetSmart location in Bayers Lake, Halifax, N.S. The staff was friendly and my dog was more than excited to hang out with them for a couple hours. Approximately 1 week later I noticed scabs around his neck and other parks of his body and took him to the vet. Since then he has been treated for a skin infection which I assume it related to a bacteria he came in contact with at this location during his grooming.
