We visited Dr. Dheeraj Sahu last Thursday in Haldwani as our 2 year old daughter had developed a red hard lump in her inner thigh. Doctor explained us the reason and elaborated on how to apply the ointment in a detailed manner which was perfect. He handed us the prescription and when we asked about how the medicines should be taken he said that the person at the pharmacy will inform us. When I was buying the medicine I noticed that he had prescribed combiflam and an antibiotic, for thrice a day. She didnt have fever so I got confused. Also, other doctors always inform us before prescribing antibiotic. So, I went back and asked him if we need to immediately start these two medicines or can we avoid this for now. He told me to fold the prescription, put it im my purse, do not buy any medicines and leave. I was shocked to see his reaction to a simple question. Then he went on saying that u guys read something on the internet and argue with us, if u r a doctor I can have a conversation otherwise there is no point. He said that maybe the doctors u visit have better degree than me etc. I just left saying thanku. I didnt buy those medicines, just bought the ointment. I kept on thinking for a while if I asked a wrong question or may be I should have asked it in a different manner. Later, when I applied the medicine on the lump, my daughter became restless and strated crying. I had to wipe off the medicine. Doctor should have at least told us that the ointment causes some discomfort or itching. I am highly disappointed by the doctors behavior. I understand that m not a doctor but that doesnt mean that I dont have the right to question.
