This is one of the famous tourist attractions of Haflong. The place is remote but the scenery and environment is very serene and peaceful. The temple and the peaceful environment will certainly calm your mind.Legend says that the place was discovered by a local who lost his cattle. After searching for few days the Goddess instructed him in his dream to search the cattle here and establish the temple.The place is mostly occupied by Nepali people. The hospitality of the people is unforgettable.

Devi Mandir at Bagetar, it is said that one of the body parts of Goddess Sati fell in the place where the temple stands today.According to legends once a local resident couldnt find his cattle of Cows despite having searched all over and then the Goddess appeared in his dreams and told him to go to this spot where hell find his cattle, & also told him about one of her body parts falling in that spot & instructed him to make a worship place there. The next day to his amazement he found his cattle of cows huddled together in the spot that the Goddess had told about in his dreams & eventually a Temple was constructed in the said location.
