Jalpath Resort a beautiful place but ill managed and no maintainence. We visited the property on 9th October 2021. There were mixed reviews on Google.. however we still visited and we too had mixed feelings.. and would like to share with all.Pros :1. Its close to proper Kolkata and easy to reach ( From Dhakuria to Jalpath resort took us only 25 mins to reach ).2. Beautifully made cottages with lots of greenery3. A very helpful staff named Sujon, who tried his best to arrange everything sole handedly.Cons :1) The cottages, specifically the one above the suite room and the suite room itself was filled with insects like centipedes, cockroaches, lizards and what not..seems No pest control done for months. If you are visiting with family and planning a overnight stay.. Pls note and beware.2 ) No curtains in bathroom for the above mentioned cottage rooms. Though the staff tried to convince stating that there is no way one can see from outside as there are trees and empty place.. However a simple curtain could have resolved this uneasy situation when travelling with family.3 ) Charging a hefty room rent of Rs 4000 per night, yet no tea / coffee cups or milk in room. No geayser in bathroom. Comode hand shower not working. Shower panel broken. Bathroom soap given Lifebuoy.. Like who gives Lifebuoy soap when you charge 4k per night... No towels etc. Bed sheets are stained.4 ) No welcome drinks. Even a simple coconut water should be incorporated in the itenary.5 ) Spider cobwebs everywhere.. Even in the dining area.. Had a terrible exp when we planned dinner in the dining area.. Dinner is best inside your room. Avoid the dining area in night..A request to the owner to please take care of these issues.. Its a beautiful place only needs to be professionally managed.. and request all people travelling to Jalpath to take a note of the above when you are visiting the property..

Rates are too high as per the standard..Pictures that is visible on the website , unfortunately you wont get that room for your stay ...As that has been kept aside fir the Owner of that property..So then why dont you remove that pic from the website!!Rest of the rooms are Ok Ok types not worthy the price they charge...Not recommend

If you are a nature lover then this place has a lot for you. The place is filled with different types of trees and plants. The greenary is soothing for the eyes. Far from the city the place is free from pollution and traffic horns and rushes.

Food is awesome, have that rustic old charm, away from the hustle bustle of the city. Beware of insects and mosquitoes- being located in a forest lush green environment, these local guests are always welcome. Tip- Resort can provide mosquito net to keep away from their bites. Mesmerizing early mornings with birds chirping and cuckoos voice note its amazing. 😊

Jalpath, the name itself signifies waterway but its not like that , it has beautiful cottages along with domestic charms due to bushes and heavy plantations , awesome foods in your package, good management by the Owner himself whom I myself like to meet to discuss few points regarding little developments of the same.I could have given Point 5 based on my views on Cottages, Foods and ambience BUT the staffs and manager are not at all up to the mark in managing a guests who was visiting for the first time rather they like to have guests who visits for hours.We had a plan to stay overnight, we booked accordingly for Room 2, the total money along with the food charges were paid But on arrival we found our booked room was occupied by somebody else.Lots of hassles and conversations while the manager Mr.Rakesh Sharma once told me to take the money back and go home. Juat imagine his language. He was physically not there otherwise the snerario could have been different after all.The Owner himself passsify the situation by giving us better and higher rated room and thats why he is a better businessman rather than his manager Rakesh Khanna.Anyhow the staff there Mr.Uday Mondal accepted his mistake of allowing the booked room to somebody else but later he became little reluctant to communicate with us.A smiling face is very necessary in this business which at times even saves many odd moments but he was, we dont know why, was in a smile less face all through.The overall experience except Rakesh Sharma is good.

Nice place to spend a weekend. Its quite and nicely made cottages. Since its a eco friendly hotel thus you will find birds, roosters and lot of other insects all around the room.

Good place for having picnic and time out and escape from the busy city life. There are two cottages. The whole facility can be booked at a price of 12,000/-. Or can be booked party at a lower cost . Overall good.

Apealing site but no provision for online booking..

An aestheticised Baganbari. The property contains two ponds, several cottages, sitting area and cottage industry tidbits. Quite good for a picnic, nothing much else.

Very beautiful place

I stayed there for two days because one of my friend lives in Kolkata. I went there from delhi. It was such a refreshing experience for me. This place is located in such a peaceful location. There are so many activities are going which you can learn and see how hard working they people are.

Service is not up to the mark. Tariff is much higher.

Close to Kolkata, 20 mins from Science city. Polite staff , Good vibes of the place, a pond in middle, be careful of flies, untamed jungle which is the beauty of the place. Very clean kitchen. Please ask for the Activities during stay, however not offered during covid times.

Had a day out for 30 to 40 people.LOCATION : 15 min drive from science city. Thats very convenientAmbience : has a rustic feel about it. Calm, quiet, removed from the hustle bustle of the city.... Lots of trees, a small lawn, a lake and a pond make up the atmosphereFood : we had arranged for our own caterer and hence had a choice of our dishesCONS: maintenance is a bit shabby... Untidy exterior seating arrangements.Summarise : a great place for a picnic... To spend leisure time among family and friends with food and drinks

Jalpath is crossin place

Except for the owner the place is beautiful. The owner is very ill behaved and Ill tempered. He does not know how to behave with guests. Rest the place is really nice and so is the food.

Previously this place was more neat and clean than what it is right now. You can see the evidence of negligence in cleaning the outside premises other than those hut type room. A bit more expensive, given the accommodation. If you want to go for a picnic with your friends, then remember there are not enough open places to play even short cricket. Pick badminton instead. You have to bring water from outside. You should not also clean your face with the normal water that is available in the bathroom.

Wonderful place. Nice people. Excellent gateway weekend destination from Kolkata. Amazing scenic beauty with wonderful panoramic view. Good food and drinks. Service is good enough.One would like to revisit the place time and again.Its not that far away from Kolkata - only about ten kilometers.

Its a connector. People can go Sonapur, science city or towards Ghatakpukur, Malancha upto Sundarban from here. Buses are available.
