Music is experiential not transactional. Thats what it was. Never felt like I was buying a piece of equipment. It was more like chatting with someone, who is way more passionate about music and telling you which way to go, over hours. Thats Sid for you. Overall fantastic experience. Long rant alert.We love our movies and music both. So after I went to some friends place, he had some monitor acoustic and klipsh - both cheap plastic orangish looking speakers and sounded just lifeless abd shrilly.I think paper speaker is best. Plastic or anything not paper makes the sound shrilly for most of us.Anyway we were looking for sound bar - Sonos Arc. So found Sound By Design in Gurgaon. And they also had speakers which has Paper not plastic! Thank god. we took Sonos but we needed big stereo system for living room like our friend.Sound by design guys are stockists of these speakers from Denmark called - DALI , B&W UK , JBL, Polk, Denon, Marantz , Yamaha and some more That they import. Could see Massive Stocks !Kartik (Director) was playing tracks with their higher amplifier tube amp was absolutely amazing. But i requested for something for us - so he had all models of Yamaha (no one in delhi/gurgaon had these many together).And WOW ..IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SPEAKERS OR HOME THEATER - ask them to play music on DALI ...Just listen to them! Dont miss the chai. :)Dali has many series, every series is like a new brand and at a diff price point. The middle series is called Oberon - superb looks and all paper and has spekaers which was around my waist, then slightly taller and then something which was 4.2ft monster!We had to take the Monster Oberon 9, as we listen to floyd, lata ji and rehman, coke studio and 70-80s english. Also we get lots of friends to party, so needed something that can play gulzar or edm. Dali does that so so well. I feel like we are in a club or a Gulzar sahabs home. This is a brand which fits every need. My kids play games, i go mad with rock, coke studio and wife does her Netflix too. Superb purchase.DALI speakers sound dreamy beautiful for every every genre.If this was the first shop we visited, it would have saved us a lot of time. Have been to few shops in delhi and gurgaon but found these to be very very genuine guy Kartik and his team. Meet them they are like some old lost friends that have great tea n music.

It was a great experience listening to the music in their studio, they even offered to let us hear the shortlisted systems at home before finalizing the products. I am a newbie audiophile, i came to know about these guys who deal in very high end equipment so i rang them up and reached their place which was unbelievably good but thats not why Im writing this review.I really wanted to come here and praise the experience they gave me, very very cordial people very warm, gave a listen to a lot of speakers in the range of my interest. Kartik explained to me everything about the set up and the technicals very nicely gave his own suggestions(mostly against bad sounding stuff). Im definitely not making a deal with anyone except these guys.

I got in touch with Sid in 2011 on an online forum where we mostly discussed bicycles, but somehow, he led one discussion towards audio, and his passion for audio shone through.He came across as a very approachable person, and he gave me technical advice and kit related advice over chat and emails. Sound By Design turned out to be a gem of a studio, least expected by me in Gurgaon. I found it hoping for a listening session on some speakers for my home. I couldnt expect more out of a listening session that I got at their studio. Although I heard a bunch of speakers, but I was sold on the Emotiva speakers the first time I heard them. These guys have great speakers and amps for all budgets.The listening room is pretty impressive. The whole place is laden with music, which can be attributed to Sid, who is a music enthusiast himself. Have known Sid for a very long time and just knew that he was dealing into some high quality audio stuff but had never experienced it for myself but took the opportunity to introduce one of my friends who was searching for some quality audio system for his house and I also tag along with him to Sid studio. A Genuine Audiophile!! Not a store businessman. I went with a problem of not knowing what to upgrade from a entry level JBL HTs. Sid first heard my requirement over the phone then invited to his Music abode, some trials on a few speakers on my Amplifier, so that it doesnt edify with any of his Amps...man blown away with the speakers!! Never did Sid or Neeraj (his manager) pushed me towards any high end classy brands, which BTW what they had plenty in stock. They just Listened and Understood... which makes the whole experience wonderful. I did not get this experience even in a BOSE or B&O stores. I just bought my Marantz 1509 AVR along with Polk T50 tower speakers. All thanks to Kartik, Siddarth and Vinay. I did not really envisage that I could find premium brands like Marantz, Denon, Dali and Taga besides Bose, JBL and Sony. I think Sid is by far the best dealer for quality audio systems in and around Delhi NCR.This store could be your best option to buy an audio system as they keep a wide range of brands to audition from and have a thorough knowledge to help you on the kind of system you would like.I wanted to get one HiFi system for myself and was totally new to it. I am so happy that I found Sound by Design here in Gurgaon, its not at all easy to find very high quality sound systems around here.I took an appointment with Sid, at Sound By Design, and I immediately knew that this was the right place to be !Sid was very friendly and so professionnal, he really knows about HI-FI , he has the best audio material one can imagine, sit down in his listening room, with a nice cup of indian tea, and once the lights have been turned very low , and there you are, sitting in the middle of a concert room, in front of the orchestra.Being a professionnal musician myself, ( playing upright bass) I cannot compromise on sound, thats why I was so happy to find Sid here at Sound by Design , and to find the perfect music system for me.Thank you Sid !!!Philippe Aerts

One word, phenomenal.Sid (the owner) and his team are doing an exemplary job in the bespoke sound solutions space. They have a perfect demo room set up individually for music and movie theater experience.From the moment I stepped in, I was continuously wowed by the length and breath of extremely helpful suggestions and equipment they had to offer. I had a particular sound in mind which I wanted replicated for my system and they were able to even better that. What I have now is way better than what I always wanted. Isnt that the sole criteria for an extremely happy customer?Prior to visiting Sid, I had been to Bose showroom and demoed the Lifestyle series, and to tell you frankly, I was literally dejected listening to the sub-standard over-hyped cacophony. Just when I had lost all faith in humanity, it was restored and a half. Voila ! Sid descends from the heavens with a pair of Elac FS 197 in his arms and sound-punches me in the ear. Since then my life has never been the same again. Though I have not yet developed Mozart/Beethoven like capabilities, I am not very far either. If music is action, Sid is like Chuck Norris with our own Rajnikanth (Neeraj) as his aide. Both make a great team and make sure that every customer that steps into their sound temple attains musical nirvana.
