We contacted him at Fortis Hospital, Gurgaon for my mothers ( Lakshmi Devi Jindal) treatment for kidney disease as both the kidneys had stopped working. Dr. Salil Jain deals with patients who are in advanced stage of their illness, often ones which has very tricky treatment or only management. It demands an exceptional professional skill which most certainly he possesses in abundance. I am a 55 year old Ghanaian who had a kidney failure a couple of years back and I began dialyzing for about two years. The cause of the kidney failure was uncontrolled high blood pressure.On the 5th of May 2019, I arrived in India and had my first consultation with Dr. Salil Jain the same day I arrived.The facilitators of my medical trip was Treatment Traveller headed by Mr. Kapil Munjal who actually convinced me to choose India as my destination because I had the UK as my first option.Warmly Dr. Jain received me and my team and explained the whole process. He planned all the necessary lab tests and lead a team comprising of a urologist, cardiologist, nutritionist, a general medical doctor and nephrologists all for my surgery. He also availed dialysis services to me.After going through the my lab results over a three week period, I sought the approval from the Indian government for the transplant. As soon as I received the approval, the medical team was ready for me.I hear the surgery took 7 hours. All I remember was I got wheeled into the theater after preparation the previous night and after anesthesia, I went under. I remember waking up in the ICU feeling happy but very chirpy with a drain pipe, catheter, an oxygen mask and several probes monitoring me.From the ward orderly to the senior most doctor, I had a pure professional experience.I relearned how to breath, excrete (both solid and liquid) and walk. The team saw me through all that making my 8 days in ICU rather pleasant. My donor spent 4 days in ICU.I had a few challenges and Dr. Jain told me that was one of the reasons why they are available.My blood pressure and later spikes in my blood sugar were manged very well. I was advice to eat well take my medication, take in lots of water and exercise. I religiously follow the advice and both my BP and blood sugar ha e been very managed especially as I psyched myself that I was not a diabetic before the surgery and wont leave India as one so my kidney kidney fails.Currently I am in Ghana but closely monitored by Dr. Jain.I wish to thank all the people involved in my heing.All what I have narrated took place at Fortis Medical Research Institute, Huda City, HaryanaIn a nutshell, I highly recommend Dr. Salil Jain for his warmth, professionalism, patients and reassuring availability.
