He is one of the tallest photographer during 1978 and as most Calcutta people love to read Statesman news paper we young people love his work through news paper.He has got Padma Shri on his work completes the quality of his photography and we followed him through Time, Life, the New York Times.No wonder when I reached the Institute I became aware of his vision. His vision have been back bone of this Institute and carried by a competent team of passionate faculty members. There is a certain sensitivity to this place that I somehow, always end up failing to articulate and just one word remains in my head, Inspiration. The warmth that this place radiates, gave me a sense of belonging that I had been yearning for. Those first words, Welcome to the family and maintaining that very same affection, in this age, is something very rare and to be a part of it, makes you grow as an individual. That is the essential training to become a sensitive and an aware photographer. Traditional Indian Philosophy of teaching always guided students and gave them a direction to explore, without actually explaining what to look for, and an inspiration to carry forward the philosophy. Technology makes it easy for anyone to learn to Photography these days, but people hardly understand the Philosophy of making photographs.
