Kotappakonda is a holy hill, situated in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, India.Kotappa Konda hill appears with 3 peaks in any direction so it’s also called as Trikutadri, Trikuta Parvatham. The three hills are: Brahma hill, Vishnu hill and Rudra hill. These 3 hills can be distinctly seen from a distance from any direction.Brahma Shikharam: The main temple Trikoteshwara Swamy Temple is located here.Rudra Shikharam: Old Kotayya temple is located here. This is the first place where Trikoteshwara Swamy existed, seeing the great devotion of Devotee Gollabhama, Trikoteshwara Swamy came to Brahma Shikharam. Hence it is called Paatha (old) Kotayya Temple.Vishnu Shikharam: Lord Paapanaseshwara Temple is here. It is believed that Lord Vishnu did penance for Lord Shiva. There is also a holy pond “Paapanasa Teertha” here. Sundudu, a cattleman, with his wife Kundiri used to live towards the south of the Trikuta hills.

Know the story of the temple before visiting, you can see the 3 temples at top the hills. The main is Thrikoteswara Swamy temple the other temples do not have a defined way need to trek on hill.Legend: Due to Gollabhama indefinite Worship, Lord shiva started walking to her home and asked her not see him until she reaches the home, but out of curiosity she turned back and saw the Lord, Lord turned into idol and the place is now were we see the Thrikoteswara Swamy temple and you can see the Gollabhama temple near it on top of the hill. How to reach: 3 Ways1. By Chilakaluripet which is on the National highway NH16 (Kolkata to Chennai)2. From Narasaraopet which is the nearest Train station3. Nearest airport is Vijayawada you can get a cab from there. You can take government bus for every ½hr from Chilakaluripet or Narasaraopet, it takes ½hr from both the places. And many Autos are available from both the places.Or you can book a cab and takes you directly to the top of the hill.Tip: Do visit at the time of Sivarathri, experience the spiritual and religious @fete తిరునాళ్ళ at Kotappakonda below the hill. Its a belief that when there were 1Crore Prabhalu Lord Siva come down the kotappakonda hill. (కోటి ప్రభలు వచ్చిన రోజు శివుడు కొండ దిగుతాడు అని). All nearby villages and families make these prabhas and offer to Lord Thrikoteswara.

Its really a good holistic place to visit. On Mondays and Saturdays it becomes most crowded with devotees. On ordinary days the crowd is much more less. It is advisable to visit on the less crowded days so that the visit will be more flexible to watch and feel around the Kotappa Konda. Anyway though there is limited buses to kotappa konda and to Narsiraopeta its is advisable to carry own vehicle. But on Mondays and Saturdays there is continuous flow of buses. To feel the Ghat Road its most advisable to carry out own vehicle.

One of the best devotional temple for pilgrims in Andhra Pradesh located in Guntur district. Here people celebrate festival in excellent form. People of different villages nearer to it offer PRABAS( which is a tall structures made of wood) with lights which is a main attractions for this place. For food their is a different satras who offers free food for people who came for darshan. Mean while their is trekking too from temple to top of hill ( were another temple is located). Museum and Deer park is big attraction for pilgrims.

Trikoteswara Swamy Temple located on Kotappakonda(Hill station) is one of the famous Lord Shiva temples in Andhra Pradesh since last few decades and in past few years appreciable developments taken place at the temple srroundings. Premises is being maintained neat and clean. Peacefully one can get darshan of Lord Shiva here. There are few Subramanya Swamy idols also on the hill just besides the Trikoteswara Swamy Temple and one needs to go by steps to reach this place. Large open air statues of Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesh are other major attractions at this place. Ample parking is also provided by the temple authorities here. One can see three peaks in this place and one represents Lord Brahma and 2nd one represents Lord Vishnu and the third one represents Lord Rudra as per the history of this place and hence this temple is named as Trikoteswara Temple. There are few more interesting historical facts about his place.
