2.5 stars. Nice service and waterfront location. Sadly the food was very average. The hotpot had a gd selection of seafood however the soup itself wasnt very good. It reminded me of powder flavoured soup. The japchae was very sweet.I did enjoy the selection of small dishes, it is more than other korean restaurants.I wouldnt come here again, there are other korean restaurants I enjoy much more.
Dont be fooled by the review and the photos with lots of side dishes and well presented bbq plates. The bbq set does not come with the additional side dish packages anymore. The variety and the amount of side dishes are no longer there. The new menu is only mediocre, nothing better than other korean restaurants in Dickson. The table service is horrible as well. Its not because there arent enough people working here but they just dont have enough attention. For example, whats the point of having the bell at each table if youre not going to look at the numbers called? You have to ask them multiple times and remind them to even get forks for kids.We ordered spicy noodle soup as well. This dish came out when we finished the bbq, after when everyone was finished with their meal.Horrible menu, terrible service, worst dinner ever had here.
The service and food is absolutely incredible! Not to mention the decor is amazing! The manager was so lovely and made my partner and I feel so at home. We ordered galbi (marinated beef ribs) and cold noodles to cool off a warm evening (photo only shows side dishes, wish I got a photo of it all). I will definitely be coming back to try more items on their great menu! Thank you so much 😊
Wonderful experience every time. We have never been disappointed with the food or service when ever we make a visit. The meat for the BBQ is top notch - flavourful. Korean fried chicken just bursting with delightful taste and the crunch is unbeatable. Noodles, dumplings, pancakes and other main dishes have always been superb too. The side dishes always plentiful and such a great selection each time. Service is always prompt and friendly. Our favourite Korean BBQ place hands down!
THE BEEF AND THE PORK BROO ITS SO GOOD CUZ KOREAN FOOD IS THE BEST ON MY MAMA BOY
One of my friends referred me to this restaurant. First of all, I would like to thank the food and environment. Its really good. I would have been giving five-star, however, one issue made the whole experience unsatisfactory. On the evening of 5th Dec, three people from my family dined in the restaurant, ordered $143 food. A young Sinaporean waiter served us. My wife and my son ordered roast meat and other dishes. I told the waiter that I was a vegan, and ordered Japchae(v) on the menu, as it was marked with vegan on it. I also ordered Bibimbap. Knowing I am a vegan, the waiter explained to me about the ingredients of the two dishes. I told him that I could eat egg and milk. However, when the Japchae(v) was served, I found there was beef inside. I requested to change the dish, but the waiter refused, saying that the order was already placed and unable to cancel. He also blamed me for not being able to understand his English, not being able to catch his beef, meat or pork words. I told him that the dish was vegan on the menu, and I had repeated several times to him that I was a vegan. Even after my explanation, the waiter still insisted it was my fault, refusing to cancel the dish, only willing to give me two drinks for the mistake.Actually, I dont really care about being served a wrong dish. My wife and my son could have the dish, but what annoyed me was his attitude, insisting it was my mistake. I even told him that if he was afraid of his boss scolding him that made him unwilling to cancel the order, I could understand. However he still insisted it was my fault, even on the menu it was vegan, even after I repeated several times that I was a vegan. He blamed me for not being able to understand his beef, pork and meat, although I have been living in Canberra for more than 10 years. That made my reason to give one-star. I hope the manager can understand. In all, the food is good, and I would appreciate it.
New korean bbq restaurant on the waterfront (pond front). Friendly service food arrived quickly. The 1kg pork and beef bbq plate was a good mix of cuts and ideal between 4 people. Fried chicken lacked a bit of seasoning for my liking but was otherwise crispy and nice. Honey makkoli too sweet and prefer the original. Seafood pancake was crispy and outstanding!Overall very good and recommended.
I had really great time there. Amazing customer service and food. The the pork bone soup was one of the best Ive ever tried.
This place transformed to perfect Korean cuisine after Lockdown❤ I personally very picky and fussy with food.i have tried all the Korean restaurants and I always disappointed. This place is the Best Korean Bbq place in Canberra!and love all the Menu. If you are not sure what to order friendly staffs will help you. I highly recommend to everyone. Ps Fried chicken also best 😍😍😍
All marinated pork and beef was very delicious! They made some mistakes on taking wrong order but staff was friendly and chef came to make sure all was good. Good service :) Side dishes was all yummy too !
Good portions and friendly service, flavorful dishes. Worth trying. Will go again!
Korean bbq where you cook on a bbq in the table. Had beef and pork set, range of additional, ingredients to combine and eat wrapped in lettuce & sesame leaves. This is a little different to other dining options. Spring rolls and fried prawns were good. Navigated the spicy and non spicy ingredients successfully. (Im not into hot spices).
Great service great food, the waitress was awesome very helpful and patient, most places the staff just run by you but she was pretty much the best waitress Ive ever had and ice worked in the industry for over 25yrs.. definitely will be going again. The chicken is perfect 👌
Honestly, I was a bit disappointed last week. But I tried Kimchi soup, Spicy stir-fried pork, Fried pork, Bibimbap and Black-bean noodle with my friends today. We are all happy about the taste and service.
Been there again recently after over a year, every little dish was tasty which was a good start. All meals we ordered were comparably good. If you want to try authentic Korean food, it is one of the restaurants you can go in Canberra.
Absolutely amazing food and service. I enjoyed everything about this place from the friendly wait staff, the delicious Korean fried chicken and the BBQ we had. It also had the best kimchi Ive had in Canberra. My photo is mostly empty plates because I couldnt stop eating long enough to take a decent photo. So many different sauces to go with it all though.
I requested help in driving the bbq but sadly we were left to fend for ourselves. Food was great though.
Love the decorationsGreat food, huge servingsLovely staff
Me and my hubby have been ordering take away from this Restaurant because it’s the only Korean restaurant in the area. Every order that we made, they were never under $60. Takeaway is fine but one time we got half raw fried chicken, the other time we order half half chook ( spicy / soy ) and we got all spicy but we thought it could be because the restaurant was busy so we didn’t write a review. As for delivery service, I wouldn’t recommend since we waited almost an hour for our food and it got cold on arrival. Also, the extra $2 thing for extra crispy on your fried chook, it’s BS. Yes we still order your food because youre the only one close to my area and the flavor is acceptable. But this time, it’s unacceptable. When My husband arrived to pick up my food that we ordered on the phone. He was told that someone has cake and collected our food ? And He waited for an hour for them to remake our food.To Insadong team, for your future reference you could have asked for the name when someone pick up the food. It’s common sense in customer service. If you can not even provide basic customer service, please consider retrain your front house.SincerelyYour Loyal customer.
Yes to good food, good service and well priced menu! Will definitely go back and back again.
Awful. Wouldnt wish this experience on my worst enemy. Offered a disgusting drink in exchange for a five star review on Google. 0/10 Avoid.
If you have never had Korean BBQ. Go to Insadong, you will love it. Lake front views and BBQ heaven. Korean food is awesome! Ill be back.
Easily the best Korean BBQ restaurant in Canberra. Service, food, all very high quality. Puts other Korean restaurants in Canberra to shame and great for Gungahlin to have such a standout restaurant. On par with the best ones from Sydney. If you’re wanting to try Korean BBQ in Canberra this is the place to visit.
As first time Korean diners the staff were very friendly and helpful. The servings were generously sized and the atmosphere relaxing. No hesitation in recommending.
Great food, Great service, Great vibe.
Best Korean BBQ in Canberra by far. Excellent value for money and the food is amazing
Excellent customer service and tasty food. Will come back!
The place has great service and hall staff for Canberra Korean restaurant and great set of BBQ. However, we decided to order few entrees and chicken hot pot as main dish instead of bbq for the first time. It took exactly 50 minutes for the hotpot and me and my partner felt disgusted by the food. It was still uncooked when it was served, the chicken was dry and stiffer than anything, the soup tasted sweet (it literally was!). Entrees took 30 minutes to come out and it also didn’t taste even average in my personal opinion. Overpriced Entrees and main dishes. Recommend for BBQ but not a place to choose except those dishes. Other tables were leaving all the food out except BBQ as well.
Hidden gem. The food here was great and the serving size was larger than expected. I recomend everyone come here 😍
I have been to korea twice now and have found it difficult to find a good korean restaurant in canberra. This is an amazing restaurant and even the decorations are great. Cannot wait to come back감사합니다!
Came here in a large group during a busy night. Food came quickly and staff were quick and friendly to attend to our requests. Especially enjoyed their chicken and kbbq.
Best place in Canberra for Korean BBQ. We never leave hungry. Yummy is the only word to describe the food. Give the Kimchi Pancake a go also 👍🏼👍🏼
Lovely restaurant! We had the bbq pack and there was so much food! Staff are very friendly! Will definitely come again!
My teacher owns this place with his friends and it looks amazing
Great foodGreat beers500m to my houseIll be back againKeep an eye out for friends above watching you :)
Delicious food, initially let down by errors/delays in service however they kindly offered several complimentary dishes (completely unprompted) which lead to a overall very satisfying meal! Would happily return.
•lovely staff members and really great customer service•genuine exotic flavor restaurant with various native food choices•comfortable environment and lively dining atmosphere
What a great feed. Had never tried Korean BBQ before but the waitress showed us all the best ways to put everything together. The meat platter was so good, the cuts of meat were delicious. For any other noobs be aware that the meat platter comes with a bunch of condiments and some sides, it isnt just meat. We left so full.
The food and service are excellent!Have to try!the waiter named Harvey did really good job!Same as other waiters!Already fall in love with this place!!!
Amazing experience, friendly staff, nice owner
Delicious food. Decent customer service especially Harvey!!! Highly recommended.
Perfect Korean BBQ with top quality meat. good services with fair price!
Unfortunately we didnt have a chance to try the food. We waited around 20 minutes and not a single waiter attempted to take our order, we where completely ignored so we decided to leave. The menu was a bit confusing to look at, the meal set simply said pork or beef without actually detailing what would be included.
Waiting long time for food, staff aren’t able to explain properly what’s in the new menu
Great food and service! One of best Korean BBQ! Female manager was really nice, looking after my little one very well. We will definitely come back.
It was so amazing. the staff were so kind and helpful. food was so beautiful
Great main dish but side dish is small and not totally Korean style but enjoyable.
Fantastic experience here, both BBQ and fried chicken are very well.
Absolutely amazing! Loved coming here on a Tuesday night in front of the lake with amazing Korean BBQ
Best korean bbq in canberra. Love the good quality meats 😋 lots of variety of food with nice waterfront view
Ive been here multiple times with different groups of people, but the service hasnt changed and Ive enjoyed the food every time! The service is great, food is great (the fried chicken is a staple order), and the atmosphere is really lively. One draw back is the lack of ventilation, especially when heaps of people are using the barbecues, but otherwise a great place! Bonus is that they now have well equipped karaoke rooms where you can have drinks brought up to you!! Cant wait to go again :))
Great food and service. Definitely a must try for Korean in the local area. Mid priced with good atmosphere. Service is quick and attentive. Food is pretty special nouveaux Korean ....if there is such a definition.
Went there tonight for a take away meal and unless you like pig feet trotters your out of luck personally I dont like the part there running around in there own exrement but unless your sitting down thats what is on offer.
We had a nice experience here. There were some tables that had broken BBQs and had replacements, they didnt seem very safe for our little one, so one of the staff members kindly arranged for us to swap tables.
Good value, excellent fried chicken.
Great food and lots of options. Shame that you cant order smaller amounts of the fried chicken, but lets be honest thats not really a negative thing.
Not only my place of choice to get Korean food in Canberra, my choice of restaurant in Canberra full stop. Delicious reasonably priced food, friendly staff, great atmosphere. It really speaks for itself
Really lovely, friendly staff. We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed delicious fried chicken, dumplings, and sweet corn cheese. Will definitely be back to try all of the other things. And the bbq.
Good location with the view, Kind staffs and quality of meats :)
Nice food ,staff and locationBest Korean restaurant in canberra
Fantastic food and service.
Great service and attitude towards customer service!!Thanks Kan & Claire for a great experience!
Didnt even order! We were hosting guests from S Korea and decided to take them here as the recent reviews were all positive. They have a main dining area and then an extension/canopied area. The 7 of us were seated within the extension area and it was freezing! The heaters didnt work and we were told that gas was on the way, so we ordered drinks. The gas never came and suffice to say we decided to leave after 35mins. Inside the main restaurant there was only one table occupied, no visible reservations and there was a blow heater... why didnt they seat us there even when we asked? Unbelievably poor service and lack of common sense! I wont even think of going back until the summer arrives!
Very low quality food. The service was bad. We sat in a 9c winter night with no heat on. When we asked the staff for heaters they tried to turn them on but the manager told them not to and we were told the heaters will get turned on 2 hours later. Soft drinks were served with no glasses. Everything that you would have expected from a good restaurant was missing.
Food is generally good but overall hygiene is a concern. The floor and toilet especially require a major clean up to provide more comfort and satisfaction to customers.
They have good foods, especially barbeque. Staffs are all friendly and willing to treat customer. Id like to visit here again.
Really large servings, pleasant service and great surroundings.I really loved the fried chicken and beef stew. Both very authentic tasting and filling. Definately the best Korean food Ive tasted in Canberra.Although the place gets quite warm inside so be prepared to sweat 😅 in the summer.
Amazing food, specially the BBQ and hotpots.Very friendly staffs ,always providing the best,my favorite Restaurant for Dine In and takeaways.10/10 👍😀
Food was basic. Nothing special. Resturant seemed to be on its last legs, with parts of the building broken and restroom not very clean. However the young lady serving was super friendly. She made the experience better.
Great food, friendly service and the Korean grill is a dining experience not to be missed
Love this place and its delicious food.
Authentic and so good Korean cuisine. Spicy Ox fail is so good
The food is good and the service was great
Great ingredients, friendly service and great service. The layout and furnishing could do with a refresh though. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone willing to try something different.
Friendly staff, the best Korean food.
Delicious food! Large generous serves. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great atmosphere. Best korean fried chicken in Canberra!!
The services and food are good.
The service was good, but thats where the positives end. The building lacked proper ventilation relying on small windows, which made it extremely uncomfortable and Smokey after a short time. The worst was the quality of the food, absolutely abysmal. Chewy, fatty, frozen cheap cuts. The quality could be forgiven if it was reasonably priced unfontuanly it was priced like a high end bbq restaurant not like one slapped together overnight looking to make a quick buck.
Food was fresh and tasted OK but not especially great. Price and serving size were reasonable. Service was friendly; staff offered to refill the side dishes.
Im so full!! Two families with 4 kids, all who really enjoyed the food. Was busy which is a good sign. Definitely recommend.
Fantastic food at reasonable prices, gets a little smokey from the cookplates set into the tables
The food was amazing (especially the fried chicken), the staff provided great customer service and it also had karaoke rooms which was a bonus. Best Korean restaurant in Canberra and would definitely recommend this place to others as this place will not disappoint.
Good food and good fun
Great Korean food. Quick service in a pleasant environment. Large choice of menu items including Korean BBQ.
Great food served by intentive and happy people. Great night.
