Silla was a fantastic experience. Firstly the staff were so friendly, helpful and really made us feel welcome. I couldnt fault then in any way. The place its self is very cosy and has some great window seat so do request one if they have it free! Before I get on to the food I just want to say they have a great selection of drinks with some very tasty Korean beer πΊThe food was absolutely delicious as you can see from the pictures. I had the fried chicken but we also tried a noodle dish which was equally great. I cant believe Ive never been here before but Ill definitely be back!
What a find! This hidden gem is truly amazing. Very cosy and very nice food.I ordered a lot of food and was expecting a big bill at the end but I was truly humbled by their modesty. I ended up tipping more because I genuinely believe that their food and service deserves a lot more than what they charge. One small note to the manager. Please try to relax! Your staff are amazing and they have everything under control. Your meticulous attention to detail is admirable but I hope that sometime soon you sit back and admire what you have accomplished in this tiny little corner of Glasgow!
Food poisoning alert: We were served two seafood dishes filled with dead mussels which would not open. The waitress then offered to not charge us for rice because of this - rice was Β£2. Could not believe the response. Couldnβt make us another one because the chef was leaving for his dental appointment. She finally took one dish off the bill. Still charged us for the rice and another dish. I am now with food poisoning.Cannot believe itβ¦
A Great Find!It is always a good sign when 95% of those eating in a Korean restaurant is Korean. We are not, but totally impressed by the quality, great tastes, presentation, hospitality of this place. We are based in London but would go back in a heart beat to Glasgow to eat here!
Looks small but massive taste, accomodating and friendly. They are happy to recommend dishes and give advice.
Really nice food, enjoyable casual dining. Service was fine, nicely paced and not intrusive or rushed. A decent choice of veggie and seafood dishes as well as meat. It attracted a diverse crowd when I was there. Its a small room downstairs, but I think theres more tables upstairs. Portion size was spot on - the main course was just right. Dishes came out as they were ready, so be prepared for people to be eating while your dining partners may still be waiting. The wine list looked OK, and well priced, and a good choice of imported beers and soft drinks (the Korean soft drinks were expensive)Overall, I really enjoyed it and would happily go again.
Best restaurant takes health and safety measures to protect all clients and staffs!!Food is also delicious and attractive!!
I came for lunch meal and I literally got full till dinner! The food test like real Authentic Korean food such as Ja Jung mian, Ginsen chicken soup (rare item to fine in Glasgow). I particularly like the shop and environment. I enjoy to food with the sip of the tasty rice punch drink. Love it. I definitely will go back.
Lovely food, helpful staff and surprisingly cheap!
Easily the best Korean cuisine in Glasgow. Friendly and personable service. Perfect portion sizes and flavour guaranteed!!
Bit disappointing, used to visit regularly but last couple if visits not so good, 3 dishes in menu not available , no Kimshi, smaller portions , no little started dishes that used to be served free.
Havent been to Silla since the new renovation so the revamped menu was a nice surprise. We ordered:Korean seafood pancakes, bibimbap, buldak, jajangmyeon and a beef stew. All were delicious and a decent size. My favourite was the jajangmyeon, the noodles Koreans eat on Singles Day, the sauce was so tasty and the noodles, bouncy. Would love to come back and try the ginseng chicken next time.We really wanted to eat Yukhoe (raw beef and egg) but one can only hope for this in the future.
I have had takeaway over the lockdown period on a few occasions since January 2021 .The meals started off ok , pricey but good .But I cant say that the same standards apply to my last 2 visits .You used to get noodle dishes in a round plastic tub , but now its a DIY job with all the ingredients in separate containers . And there isnt much of anything . One Beef rib soup was just water and potato with some pretty tough ribs .I had some Kimche pancakes, the accompanying sauce/dip was so salty it made me π€’I have just had noodle in black bean which was flavourless and another DIY job of separate containers . Along with the beef ribs , which for Β£12.50 are an absolute rip off , they were so thin they would of barely made up ONE whole rib .That is my last visit
Minimalist but nice atmosphere. Food was just a bit on the expensive side but quality ids making up for it. Lovely service just one thing... waiting staff would involve themselves in long conversations with customers, which is really nice and kind but not when you need them to ask for an extra beer or the bill.
At one point, I would have given this place five stars. However, that changed today. My seafood dish came with mussels which arrived at the table closed. I told the staff and they said what do you want me to do. They told the chef, who then told them to tell me to prise them open. I refused and sent it back. The dish came back to the table with less seafood than before I sent it, and with the same mussels but were either opened by the chef or cooked further. Either way, the mussels didnt look or smell right and by the time it came back, my rice was also cold. The waitress offered a free drink. I refused and asked for a discount. However, the chef then came up and drew me a dirty look, so I decided to refuse payment. Awkward, uncomfortable lunch, where the chef doesnt care about poisoning customers. I used to love this restaurant, but after today, I will never go back. The staff told me they couldnt give me a discount or give me the dish free of charge because the manager wasnt there. But I stood my ground and got the dish for free in the end.
Incredible food, great staff.
I visited here on the last night of Eat Out to Help Out with my husband. We saw someone eating some very tasty looking food and spontaneously decided to go in. Our visit started well with some lovely small complimentary bowls of veg with a bottle of Korean craft beer. We started with delicious dumplings as our first dish. However, our mains were pretty disappointing. My husbands meal was a pork cutlet, with sticky rice and mixed veg. The cutlet itself was tasty but the mixed veg turned out to be a few leafs of salad, and a small portion of rice. I had hotpot with noodles, sausage, ham and beans. Im pretty sure the noodles were instant, the ham seemed like a few slices from a block of spam, and the sausage was also the cheap smoked sausage you get in a supermarket. To be fair we were both having food envy from what others were eating and we made some bad choices. Still, even with the EOTHO discount it was expensive
Good food and courteous service.
Great place! The best dumplings and ramen I ever had. Also good price and the staff is very nice and friendly.
Very delicious,amazing hostsπ―
Excellent service and delicious food.
A cozy place with a big variety of great food. The staff is super nice as well. Definitely coming back!
Super friendly waitress! I had the bibimbap, which I had been craving! It was delicious and came with miso and picketed veg! I was also recommended a beer I really enjoyed!
A fabulous little restaurant and it offered something a little bit different! As a family sharing dishes was the best way to go !
The food here is INCREDIBLE. Iβve honestly been fantasizing about the noodles with tofu and bean sauce I got. Never had anything like it. The staff is also very friendly and the prices are reasonable. I also thought the portion was pretty large, contrary to some other reviews here.
Amazing food
The food was nice. However, they are not following social distancing guidelines. It was VERY CROWDED. Also, we waited for 15 mins for the waiting staff to take our order, and another 45 mins for the food to arrive.
Had a short business lunch for two persons there. Altogether a great experience, recommended. The were overwhelmed by more business than usual, but always friendly and nice. The food offers a really great value for money, very tasty and balanced spices. Also quite authentic, as far as my limited Korea experience goes.
Great wee place to eat. Authentic Korean food. If you want Asian food but want to try something different from the usual Chinese, this is one to try. Food is amazing. Service is fine, not overly attentive, but I like a bit of peace when Im dining so it suits me fine. Can take a bit of time to get your bill, but the food makes it worth it. Definitely a hidden Glasgow gem.
Amazing
Very friendly, informative and welcoming staff, which made my first experience of Korean dining interesting as well as enjoyable.Cosy and informal, but limited space probably means it could feel crammed on a busy night (I visited late afternoon on a Saturday and it was quiet, but was advised it starts to fill up quickly around 7pm).Food is delicious
Best Korean food in town!
Decent food
Amazing food and very very quick delivery!
Great service, great food, loved it. Menu has dishes of various sizes so one can have a nice small meal or a decent blow- out. Perfectly spiced and from the large number of Korean people eating here, I would assume it is authentic.
We love the food always so delicious. Staff are so lovely warm and friendly great atmosphere. Favourite place to eat in West End
Fantastic dinner and very nice staff. Came in totally freezing, and left feeling warmed by the food and the people. Onlything that could be improved: the menu was a bit stickyπ.
Food was really good. I got the bibimbop and it is quite close to authentic Korean cuisine that is according to a Korean friend. It could be a bit expensive if you plan on getting a lot of Korean side dishes.
Great place for Korean food, check out the Korean style fried chicken dishes. Food compares favourably to some Korean food Ive had in the northeast of China.Close to Glasgow University and Kelvingrove museum and art gallery.
One of my favourite restaurants here. I try something new each time I go and its always brilliant. My only wish is I could find the time to go more often.
Good food.
Great food. Never disappoints. Go there for the lovely kimchi jeons if nothing else.
Taste is soso. Service is terrible. Gave us wrong menu but never said sorry(and brought the right one 45 minutes later). Foods were delivered in different timing for an hour even though we ordered together. This is not a complain but I just want to remind you that 10% additional charge will be applied if your group is more than 6.
Real taste of Korea. But restaurant is quite small. Better to book the table.
Been here a few times as I love the food. The service and the prices are also good. The atmosphere of the place is very endearing, so I recommend it to all.
We have just finished the meal in the restaurant. The food was quite tasty but the portion is quite small. One important thing is that, they dont tell you they will charge you 10% service charge But when the bill comes, you need to pay it. It is quite surprise to me. I think its against the law not to tell the customers about the 10% service charge before they pay. It is very subtle and not honest. They should have written down clearly that the service charge will be charged on the menu.
Original Korean food place in Glasgow. Great food, mostly authentic. Feels more of a cafe than restaurant. . Very tightly packed. Id recommend booking
Top quality authentic Korean Restaurant.Cozy intimate interior, busy atmosphere, spicy ramen. The seafood pancakes are great.
Super yummy! Refreshing finding a Korean place in this city. Definitely worth a try if youre up for spicy food
We visited this place today for the first time after a few years. I must admit that the food was not as good as I remembered. Back when it was still Shilla, I loved the kimchi jiggae. However, when it came today it was just soup with hardly any pork....yet it was Β£10! My partner ordered the Jajang Myeon, you could hardly see any meat! Just sauce and overcooked hard-boiled half egg. It did not come with the pickled radish that used to come with the noodles. The Kimchi Jeon was very oily but tasted ok. The service was very slow, we had to fetch the waitress for our order to be taken. Whereas there were 3 waiting staff were just cleaning and talking to each other. Would not recommend this place.
It is good. But it is not quite Korean food.
Was fantastic. I cant wait to go back, the Korean wings and soju are a cant miss.
Easy to miss little restaurant but well worth a visit. Great food and service was fantastic. Really nice experience.
A very different eating experience for me, never had Korean food before, lovely food
As far as I know, the only Korean restaurant in Glasgow. Food is unique and very very tasty. Excellent unusual ingredients and flavour combinations. Perfect for take away or sitting in. Highly recommended.
Very tasty Korean food.Friendly staff, great service, and well priced for portion sizes.Worth a look after Kelvingrove Art Gallery.
Quick lunch here on 17th Nov. Food didnt taste authentically Korean. Maybe it was the chef probably not from Korea? Disappointed that stews didnt come with rice, something you take it for granted elsewhere. Thats all Ill say.
So glad I didnt get put off by some of the reviews on here. Had a great night, food was amazing. Shared a fishcake and dumpling starter and spicy chargrilled pork and chicken. Really enjoyed the little appetizers we were presented with on arrival too.If you are looking for something different and authentic, give this place a go
The food here was lovely. I had meaning to go for years and finally got round to it. Will definitely be back.
Loved it!! Delicious Authentic Korean food for good prices! Best Korean resturant i have ever been too! Staff were also very welcoming and friendly!
The smoking hot bowl of beef bibimbap was tasty (and large enough to take some home with me); but beyond that, I cannot recommend this place highly enough because a staff member chased me down 3 blocks when I forgot my scarf! SO NICE! THANK YOU!
Great food. Prompt service
Food is goodοΌprice is competitive, food portion is not as small as those Korean restaurants in UK
Authentic Korean food. Waitresses are a bit absent minded. Otherwise a great place to eat.
Incredibly tasty meals but small portions and a bit steep pricing. Also, the staff doesnt take interest in you unless you get their attention. Could be better.
Delicious food, fast service and food, very friendly staff and reasonable prices.
Fantastic place - good value delicious, warming food. Especially perfect for winter/rainy days. Friendly staff too!
Food is delicious but a new waitress wash the table next me when I am eating and disinfector fly to my dish and eyes.
Amazing food with good price and excellent service!
Delicious food, efficient staff, aired with a tower fan
A great place to have a meal either for lunch or dinner. The dishes are made with fresh food, beatifully presented and with a great taste. If you want to eat korean food, you will enjoy it!!
Absolutely fabulous restaurant- found by accident while looking for lunch in Glasgow.
Be ware! this restaurant have a tendency to be racist. My neighbor seemed to be Asians waited for 1 hour with nothing served. However another customer who seemed to be local white guys, they got served within 20 minutes. This place is actually very busy and I donβt think their kitchen is enough for serving too many customers like this.
Awesome food and friendly, professional service.
Great food, nicely spiced. Not too much! Tasty!
Small homely Korean restaurant.First time Ive gone for Korean food, but thoroughly enjoyed it!!I had the dumplings to start, they were amazing!Extensive menu, highly recommend!!
Terrible!! They said on the menu that over 6 people will charge you 10% service charge but I was with my friend, which was 2 people and they still charged me!! The small portion food and was not fresh and its too pricey! I wont be back to this place!! I dont recommend going to this place!!!
My favourite Korean restaurant in Scotland, not that there are many to pick from. The kimchi hot pot dish is my favourite, swerved with rice, the taste is just unbeatable. The Korean pancake tastes amazing also, however portion size for this is ABIT small.
Amazing food, nice service and a very gentle setting
Only been here twice on my visits to Glasgow, but definitely will go back for more.
First time korean food for me and I absolutely loved it!
Was great, on the level of korean food in Canada!
Slow service but nice food
Very active and friendly stuff! Delicious food and affordable prices! Truly Korean atmosphere!
