πBy far the best brunch place in Hawaii.I had a long list of resturant to visit during my vacation, but this place made me to visit twice.Every item has it own unique characteristics, and amazing balance of the flavors. I wish I had enough time to test all of the items in the menu.100% must visit, and please order the mixed potato as a side.
I had the pig hash which was an explosion of tastes and textures. I tasted cilantro, sweet potato, tomatoes, onions, potatoes, guac, etc. I feel like this is what you go to these kinds of restaurants for, to experience the creativity of the culinary professionals. Their french toast is unique, is not made of regular bread or brioche but is their own kind of fluffy bread. Wife had the egg bowl or something, and it looked awesome. The manager/head chef even gave her advice on how best to eat it.
Food here was amazing. We got the kalua pork hash and the french toast and both were exceptional. I particularly enjoyed the hash, the potatoes were nice and crispy and the pork was cooked perfectly. Loved the green goddess dressing and the over easy egg on top.Service however could be better, our coffee and water wasnβt topped at all.Other than that itβs great.
Wow.... if I could say one word about this place and still get a full review out of it... that word would be wow! Me and my girls LOVED this. The Chicken Sandwich is seriously the best chicken sandwich I have ever had in my entire life! The egg sandwich my eldest daughter had she loved dearly. This was amazing!!!
Ive been thinking about this meal a lot.... and I think this is the best breakfast Ive ever had. I had the Pig Hash, and everything about the meal was amazing. From the coffee, to the presentation, to the service (our food was out in about 7 minutes and the staff was very friendly,) to the pork exploding with flavor. This is one of this meals that will be on my mind for a long time. I would swim to Hawaii from California just to have that again.
This place is great! Atmosphere is laid back and the staff is also really friendly! They know what theyβre doing and what theyβre talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is very tasty, a delicious mix of local foods and mainland dishes! Sure to please everyone!
First of all, we waited an hour on a Sunday afternoon. Wasnβt a big deal, we knew there would be a wait so planed for it, there are plenty of places in walking distance to pass the time. I throughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We were in and out but it seemed plenty of tables enjoyed the libations and a bit more leisure time.
Delicious and definitely priced well! I had the homemade French Toast (it was literally 2 inches thick!) with homemade whipped orange cream, strawberries, macadamia nuts and a choice of syrup or coconut syrup. My husband had pig hash - which was pulled pork, Hawaiian potatoes, and two or three eggs over easy all stacked with pork on bottom and eggs on top. My daughter got some kind of a fruit bowl that had other things in it as well. We were stuffed when we left! So very yummy! You need to bring quarters for the meter parking!
We had the fried egg sandwich. Over easy egg and sausage with a side of potatoes on the side. Thereβs only street parking and itβs all metered. No free parking so we decided to just order take out. If you donβt wanna drive around for a parking spot and wait in like the take out option is really fast and they do do curb side drop off
The pumpkin crispy edge pancakes (seasonal special) are out of this world!! Get them before they are off the menu. The custard filled French toast is also delicious (but my vote goes to the pancakes). I liked that you can get a half order of the French toast. The service was great! Our server (Andrea?) was so friendly and helpful.
We pick it up from internet on the way to Kailua. It was near noon time on Saturday. There was waiting line of 15 minutes waite time as it was a small place with limited seating. Also open hours are very limited 7am - 1pm, closed on Mon and Tue. Foods served pretty fast once ordered. We sampled French toast and coconut burger. The burger is decent, French toast is super good.
Came here for brunch with my family. Every dish was amazing. Must try the French toast, either as your entree or to share with the table!
Two words: FRENCH TOASTThe service was fast and friendly, and dear god that French toast was to die for. It would be filling on its own, but I also got a breakfast plate that included Kalua pork and other breakfast items. The Kalua pork was totally the stand-out on the breakfast plate! My only suggestion to this fabulous restaurant is to brew your coffee at a lower temperature- our coffee was burnt (but most places burn their coffee, so I wonβt hold it against ya!)
Cute spot and extremely friendly staff. We went for a late breakfast. I called ahead to verify they had gluten free options. When we got there the waitress was very kind and knew exactly what a celiac could or couldnβt have. She double checked with the kitchen. We each ordered something different to sample all the gluten free options. We had the Kalua hash, the Gf breakfast sandwich with kalua pork and Portuguese sausage. I had the kailua eggs. Every dish came out quick and hot! The kalua hash was hands down the winner followed by the sandwich. The Kailua eggs were good but definitely a niche taste. The portion sizes were great! It was way more food than I could eat! Overall I canβt wait to return.
Potatoes were hard and cold. Over priced. Dirty outdoor setting
Cool / hip cafe thatβs tucked away. Excellent menu with amazing breakfast and brunch dishes. Service is excellent too. No espresso coffee here - just filter - but itβs so good that you wonβt miss your usual latte.Counter seating available with βliveβ entertainment watching the chefs in the kitchen. Outdoor seating available too.The toasted egg sandwich was sensational! Pork hash was a winner too.Perfect place for breakfast at the start of your circular island tour !Car Parking available in the public parking garage located just behind Over Easy - access of Aulike Street.
Egg sandwich with avocado was simply amazing! Sourdough bread..wonderful potatoes. Our waiter Caleb was perfect! Must stop place
The food was very sweet! But as I love sweet breakfast it was just the meal. I had their French toast and they are huge. Comes with a wonderful house made cream and other garnishes but its soft, sweet, filling, and wondeful.. others on the table has other items and their expierence was just as good as mine. Very good place
Awesome breakfast place with some great local flavors. The kalua pork hash was awesome and the breakfast bowl with stuffy boiled eggs was also delicious. Nice fresh local fruit juice. The tables are a little tight and service was good. Great vibe and it gets really busy really fast so expect a wait if youre not willing to get up bright and early. Would like to try this restaurant for lunch next time. Parking is on street.
Came here on a Friday morning. although they dont seat you until the whole group is present, they were able to seat us right away. their wifi was down and so it was cash only. although they tell you up front, it was a little inconvenient to walk across the street to withdraw cash. their food tasted great and it looked as it did in the pictures. our server was great. she was able to offer suggestions and answer our questions.
Good stuff. Its a little difficult to find because it isnt actually on (or facing) the street. Its around the corner on an alley which makes it nice if you sit outside or have to wait for a table which is apparently the norm as it was today. The service staff is really nice (bubbly) and efficient. If you want to pout or feel sorry for yourself, dont go here because these folks are seriously upbeat. 80s tunes were piped into restaurant and contributed nicely to the upbeat vibe. The coffee, mimosas, and food was also outstanding! We just had basic breakfast choices, but some of the plates coming out of the kitchen make me want to return and try some of the other menu options. It may be a trendy place, but it is also a GREAT place for breakfast.Dogs are welcome. And people too.Parking is across he street or on the street; parking wasnt a problem.
Very tasty and I liked how you could build the meal you wanted with their well-priced sides. And the coffee kept coming, just the way I like! The only negative is that it felt like they were in a hurry to get us out. They kept asking us if we were done while we still had food on our plates or, once or twice, were actively eating it. Other than that, the service was great!
Awesome restaurant! Went here two days in a row. Great options for both sweet and savory. I would definitely go here again (also the service is very quick)
Quaint and delicious. This place packs a lot of flavor in their dishes. I come from Tennessee where there is bbq slathered on everything and a lot of the food in this area of Oahu feels a little bland (GF diet restrictions), but this place does not disappoint. Good food for a comparable price.
What can we add to the other amazing reviews? They have someone on site who makes their sourdough bread, which (from someone born in San Francisco) is the best Ive ever had. The scones are the best as well: crispy on outside and tender on inside. The farm eggs have a really good color - a deep, rich orange. And, they are cooked perfectly. The friendly staff and outdoor seating makes this place perfection.
I ate here twice a couple years ago while visiting and still think about it all the time!! So delicious and fresh, I hope to visit again someday! (Oh yeah and the beautiful island too, haha!)
We were there for a late breakfast around 1030 in a Saturday morning. There were about 25-30 people waiting for tables. Our wait was about 30-45 minutes. Some clients on the patio were oblivious to the waiting people and choose to chat away well after having paid their bills.Once we were seated (inside) the service was very efficient and friendly. Our food came up very fast and was quite tasty. The space is somewhat loud, as the interior consists of hard surfaces that reflect sound.I had the 2 eggs breakfast and choose soft boiled. They were perfectly done and expertly released from the shells. There was a hint of water in the bowl, which I would have preferred to not have. Chose the home made sausage which was quite tasty and distinctive. Course the home made sourdough bread which was quite tasty; unfortunately the toaster was only firing on one side, so it will need to be repaired or replaced. The coffee was tastier than the usual but was weaker than I prefer. The waitress actually listened to me when I specified black coffee and didnt bring any cream or sugar; I appreciate that as it shows she paid attention - most dont.
Beware that you will more than likely have to wait to eat here, even if you call ahead to be put on the wait-list. However, the food was delicious and the service was amazing! Definitely worth stopping by for brunch. All three of us really enjoyed our meals and plan to come back soon π
I had a phenomenal time at this location. The service was superb we were seated fast and the waitress was incredibly amiable and helpful. The food is delicious with unique takes on classic dishes that make me want to try the whole menu. After a disaster eating at Eggs and Things, Over Easy was a welcome delight.
We found over easy whilst driving around Hawaii and it seemed like a good cafe, given the positive online reviews and line up outside. We put our name down on the the iPad and waited about 15 minutes before a table came available. We sat at the counter watching the chefs in action. Whilst the menu certainly does have plenty of egg options, thereβs lots of variety. I ordered eggs on toast with a side of amazing pickled vegetables. We also ordered the special; the pumpkin pancakes. These sweet pancakes were filled with spices and cream and were super fluffy and delicious. They were absolutely enormous and we couldnβt finish them, and took half home for later. We also quite liked the coffee here, and appreciate the free top ups. Staff here were very friendly, service was extremely efficient and the food came out fast. The cafe has a vibrant atmosphere and we recommend this cafe to you all.
So glad to see a local restaurant busy. Of course the wait was little longer then usual but it was fine. Had the shrimp burger which is and always tasty. We also had crispy edge blue berry pancake. Love the texture of the crispy edge and soft center. Ive had every dish on this menu and there isnt any thing I would not have. All delicious. Try it when you can, you wont be disappointed.
I stumbled onto this place while needing to kill some time. This sandwich was recommended to me by the wait staff. The sandwich is crispy and full of flavor. The bacon and runny egg are a perfect combination! I started out eating it with my hands and had to transition to knife and fork. The spinach salad has this flavorful dressing (goddess is in the name I believe) and pickled ginger. I could eat the salad for days. It helped to balance out the rich sandwich!I would have tried the house-made hash but I was on my motorcycle and could not take the leftovers home.I will be back for that. I love housemade anything!
So incredible!!!! This is a must stop for anyone looking for a perfect brunch. The service was incredibly quick. Our order was slightly wrong so they gave us an entirely new plate for free in just minutes!!! So understanding, they really care about their customers! Atmosphere is light and quaint perfect for breakfast. The food! Ive had many brunches but this takes the cake by a mile. The farm fresh eggs and local ingredients and flavors come together so well. The fried egg sandwich on their house made sourdough toast is an instant classic. Today I had their smoked brisket loco moco special and it was to die for. The brisket was cooked absolutely perfectly so tender with a beautiful smoked flavor. Overall this was the best brunch, best food Ive had here yet. Fantastic service. Fantastic setting. Fantastic food. Cant wait to go back!
Outstanding meal!!!Mom had what looked like Eggs Benedict but was not, huge plate of food. She ate the whole thing!
Quite good, definitly will visit again. I was a bit dissapointed by the brunch bowl, I think I should have gone with something else. But the Irish iced coffee was delicious
Went for breakfast. The food was really good but I didnβt like the potatoes. Waitress was really nice and the service was good. Iβd recommend sitting outside because we got seated inside and it was really hot and stuffy in there. Overall a good place.
Very cute little restaurant with an open kitchen. The menu is nice, a little small. But the food is good! And the staff is friendly. The wait times can grow though so make sure to come early. Thereβs no direct parking to the restaurant but there is some street parking and a parking lot that takes coins close by
Nice little place, great ice coffee, really fast service and adequate, the menu sounds much better then itβs actually is. The food is good and fresh. The house sausage is just a little to sweet in my humble opinion. The egg OMG!!! Thatβs special really impressive. Overall I gave them a tree start.
Delicious! Mimosas were so good and food delicious! I hope you get to meet Carli ! She was so kind and energetic. They are lucky to have her .
Fabulous breakfast with my 2 besties! I had the Kalua Pork Hash and it was a big meal (now I have lunch too) Table outside was perfect, breezy and comfortable. Our server was kind and accommodating - but wished he was faster on refills for coffee (but thats just me). Will definitely go back. We got there as soon as they opened and there was already a line. It was a bit of a wait but with friends, time went by quickly.
My son and I came here for breakfast and there was a long line. It didnt take too long for us to get a sit though. I had the Over Easy plate with house sausage and greens and sourdough bread. My son had the French toast. My plate was delicious! The dressing on my salad was a light avocado with hints of garlic and lemon. The sausage had a great balance of spices and sweetness. The sourdough was grilled with butter and nicely chewy. I took a slice of my sons French toast witht the strawberry flavored whipped cream and it was dreamy! They have very pretty servers, too.
Delicious and super friendly staff. We got the custard french toast and potato & eggs, both were very good! Suggest trying the plantation tea for a refreshing light drink.
The food perception is a matter of taste so I will not comment on it but the biggest drawback is the toilet. I think the owners should pay more attention to the quality and cleanliness of the bathroom they offer. In my opinion it is below any standards.
By far the best breakfast we had while staying in Oahu! Mimosas were delicious, and the food was perfect! 4 different meals all turned out to be a hit with everyone I was with. Highly recommend this place, worth the wait!
AMAZING & A MUST visit!! This little spot is a beautiful little gem on this amazing island. We have been to the island twice and Over Easy is one of our favorite breakfast spots! Everything on their menu is amazing and their french toast is a dream, trust me... Just treat yourself to it and you will be happy you did! (They also treated our bridal group amazing because what else would you want to eat the morning of the wedding! My sisters favorite place and it started her day off right)
Due to the service member being denied a seat. Your staffs over reaction will have negative consequences on your business. Traffic here sucks and its common place to be late here. Disgusting customer service in this instance. For that reason as a military member my family and others will no longer support your restaurant.
I wish I could give this review 0 star. This establishment is in a beach neighborhood where people commonly wear bathing suits. However, when I came with my husband I put my name on the waiting list and the hosted prompted to us it would be a 30 min wait. No problem. Around waiting for 30 minutes, an employee comes up to me saying they cannot serve me if I am in a bathing suit top because people will be uncomfortable. This employee lets me know this after I had been comfortably waiting now for 30 minutes for a table. She said itβs not common for people to be in a bathing suit even though itβs a beach town... also they usually take cards but because their wifi was down they could only do cash but no one informed us of this. I had to ask another confused customer.... Iβm sure the food is decent but the customer service is horrific. 0/10. I left to another place a block away and they happily served me in my bathing suit with no issue because hello we are in a beach town. Also Over Easy does not have an official clothing policy on either their website or Instagram.
Over Easy is by far my favorite restaurant on Oahu. It has something for everyone. Sweet, savory, complex, simple, gourmet, and down to earth. The staff always give fabulous customer service and a smile. There is usually a line, but it is worth the wait. My favorite dishes are the Kalua Hash, baked French toast, and the pancakes with cream cheese and fruit. The chef puts touches on the dishes that elevate them above ordinary breakfast. For example, the stuffed French toast comes with homemade hint-of-orange flavored whip cream, dried and fresh fruit, peppermint garnish, and the best syrup I have ever had. I bring all my friends, family and guests here. I rave about them to all my coworkers.
We found this AMAZING breakfast spot on our way to north shore anddddd omg- one of the best breakfast we ever had! Very nice staff, and the food was soooo good!!!! Highly recommended!
Pancakes were amazing, kalua pug hash was dope. Food came out super fast and service was on point.
I absolutely enjoyed my meal here! I had looked online for lunch in the area and was directed to over easy through looking at easy que online. The website showed both restaurants and this looked like a meal that was suitable for lunch while easy que was more appropriate for dinner. Out of two options I selected, the waitress recommended I try the Kalua Pig hash. I am so very grateful for that recommendation and will definitely be back soon (within the week) to try it again to make sure that it was exquisite!
Great little spot here in Kailua! Got the kalua pig hash and potato n egg, both were phenomenal!
The food was great. The blueberry pancakes hands down THE winner and a must have. The French toast was good as well. Giving it four stars because there is no organization to a line. It was packed out! Which I donβt mind waiting at all, but no where to sit or any rhyme or reason. And it is hot inside and your very close together with other tables inside.
Wow, this place was a great surprise. After our favourite Kailua breakfast place was closed we tried this one based on reviews. First the staff was plentiful, very friendly and helpful. We sat at the bar and even the kitchen staff acknowledge us at the bar and we notice they were even speaking to guest as the left. Now to the food. It was great. Fresh ingredients, and we could see the staff preparing the dishes with care. Itβs like gourmet restaurant quality in a cafe setting. They even have someone checking the orders as they leave to kitchen. We had the breakfast sandwich with Kalua pork and a simple toast, eggs and avocado. All very well seasoned, balanced portions and again fresh quality. We have to go back and try other dishes. As for the place, it is airy with indoor and outdoor seating. Iβd bet the wait is long on weekends. This has become our new breakfast place in Kailua.
Even though theyre was a lot of people in line, the wait time for a table didnt take long at all. The service was quick and the orders correct and the food was phenomenal. The outdoor seating is all in the shade so it was very easy to enjoy Sunday brunch. Highly recommend!
Service was super fast, on point, and the food was great. Not a bad price either ;)
Fathers Day lunch. Delish. Breakfast all day and lunch options. French toast was like a piece of art with orange creme fraish on the side replacing butter. Some local items on the menu too. Service is good once you get in. The are very popular so wait can be long. Thinking they should expand to the empty space next door. Part of the charm is the open air eating and non polished come as you are welcome-ness. Perfect for a beach community.
Amazing!!!! Had the potato and egg, custard French toast, breakfast bowl, and chicken sandwich. Everything was FANTASTIC! The service was excellent. A must go!!!
Words can hardly describe how delicious our breakfast was. Competing for awesome breakfasts in Kailua is no small task with so many delicious and original alternatives, but DAMN Over Easy might be on top! My wife had the Crispy Edges Pancakes with cream cheese and fruits (blueberries), which were simply perfect. Not too sweet, cooked to perfection with a crispy outside but not burnt, with a soft delicious but not raw interior. I took the Fried Egg Sandwich, which is such a sleeper of a name because its deliciousness slapped me silly. Crusty and tasty toasts with eggs, plenty of cheese and crispy bacon, dancing with what might be the best spicy aoli sauce Ive ever had. I wont even tell you about the potatoes, youll just have to go and taste for yourself...
