Good place for nature lover. There are many small trails in the sanctuary where one can explore the nature. Many types of Birds and animals can be seen. But take help of a guide for exploring. One can visit the forest rest house and small walk to zero point to get a great view of Himalayan range. For best experience stay in TRH binsar.

Its a ordinarily maintained typical sarkari set-up. A bit of disappointment after you travel so much to reach this place. It does not have much to engage or educate visitors. You take trail and walk through to a unimaginatively constructed machan from where you hope to get a great view of snow clad mountain range but only if you are lucky. Most of the time there are clouds and you just wonder what the whole trip was all about. It has great potential but if only the government babus wake up from the slumber and see the place and decide how it can be made tourist friendly. The views on the way are better than the destination.

If you wish to see this view from the balcony everytime you wake up in the morning, then stay at KMVM rest house in the sanctuary. From the rest house its a small trail ranging between 1.5-2 kms to reach the tower from where you can get this view.

Picturesque location, Lovely for nature-lovers and people who like to hike. Beginner level trekkers can come to this place to spend some quality time with their loved ones and nature of course! During the trek, if you are lucky enough (and you are quiet enough to not let the animals & the birds sense your presence) you can spot Barking deer, various birds like Blue Himalayan Magpie, Redstart, Grey headed Flycatcher, laughing thrush and many others.KMVN is a great option with delicious food. Theres little or no electricity so make sure your devices are charged. They provide you candles in the evening and give you hot water in the morning. Starry night is perfect for star gazers and obviously the snow capped peak view is breathtaking!

Binsar Wild life sanctuary is a complete waste of time and money. They charge Rs.150 for adults Rs.75 for kids and Rs.250 for Small Cars and Rs.500 for big cars. Not well maintained narrow roads leads you to the walking road where you need to trek for around 2 kms . You don’t get to see any animal. Just a nature walk. If you are in mountains any walk can be nature walk. So please don’t waste any money here.

An amazing place to visit. If you want to immerse yourself in nature and breathe the fresh air. Do not expect to see many animals. It has a place known as zero point which has some breathtaking views. It is a 2km trek from KMVN binsar. The trek isnt that hard at all but yes it did take our breath away for a moment. To enter this sanctuary, youll have to shell out Rs. 150 per person and 250 for car parking. Its very relaxing and calm. The best time to visit would be March and April. I visited in June 2017 as we had not preferred visiting once the monsoon arrived as itll be raining and cloudy. Even then, we werent able to see the spectacular views from zero point as it was cloudy. If your visit to Binsar is for the spectacular views from Zero Point (like ours) then make sure you plan according to the weather. As for the stay, KMVN is a great option and so are other resorts situated in the core area. Do remember its a wildlife Sanctuary and the lights go off after sun down. All in all its a great way to connect to nature.

Amongst thick forests of Oak and Rhodendron (Buransh), the Binsar Sanctuary situated on top of the Jhandi Dhar hills. The sanctuary is spread over 45.59 sq. km. at an altitude varying from 900 to 2500 metres with an average height of 2412 metres. It is only 30 kilometres away from Almora city. From a place called Zero Point in Binsar one can see the Himalayan peaks like Kedarnath Peak, Shivling, Trisul and Nanda Devi. The entire region is now a wildlife sanctuary and has a host of wildlife like Panther and Barking Deer. The beautiful temple of Binsar Mahadev lies nearby. An another temple of Kasar Devi is located around 9 km from Binsar. Binsar was the summer capital of the Chand Kings, who ruled over Kumaon from the 11th to 18th centuries AD. Binsar was established in 1988 for the conservation and protection of the shrinking broad leaf oak forests of the Central Himalayan region, and it has over 200 bird species.
