Really good quality food everything that we ordered was really good in taste.
A decent place to try Indian chaats, but the quantity is very less for what you pay for.
Great place for quick bites! I was absolutely happy to find a place that has a good variety of vegan pastries and cakes. I had ordered a blackforest birthday cake from here and it was delicious. Pastries and veg puff were good too!!
My favorite food is Indian. This was my first time trying this place and I wasn’t really blown away tbhAppetizer:SamosaMain:Chile chicken: tasted more sweet than spicyChicken Biryani: was good but definitely had some heat to it as soon as I took a biteButter chicken: could’ve used more flavor. Tasted like chicken tikka masalaGarlic Naan: was okay.Sauces: the two sauces at the bottom were good,IMO.Overall, idk if I would order from here again. Glad I tried it though, thank you!
Delicious vegan desserts! Enjoyed the opera cakes, tres leches and cupcakes!
Not good.Very expensive and taste is also not up to the mark.
We adore this place. Delicious vegan desserts, great daily variety, and friendly staff. They are very gracious with families and are doing an exceptional job with maintaining safety measures during the pandemic.
Its been a year and a half and Ive sure missed this place! ❤️❤️❤️
I always come here for the desserts... always moist and tasty. I am not vegan, but these desserts are! I wouldnt have known the difference. I wish the mango and butterscotch cakes had a stronger mango and butterscotch taste, but the chocolate mousse cake was by far the best one yet. Friendly customer service. No dine in as of Aug 1, 2020.
Their quality has gone from good to worse. I am very disappointed with their food.
Love there black forest cake and various pastries
I loved samosa from there but this time I got the chutney (tamarin) which has the fungus inside it. you dont know what would be served ? Also one time I had a puff which they warm it in microwave so it become soggy instead of putting in over..I am sure staff doenst know how to server the food. I not going to visit again.
First time and in love with cleanliness, response and quality
Food is subpar! For the price, better options elsewhere. Customer service could use some more attention.
Neat & clean place.. Tasty food...
The best vegan cakes 🍰 🎂 and pastries available-very light and moist. The sales lady is sweet and courteous, but the owner is one angry man. It will be nice to have a pleasing demeanor for yourself and the customers. Thank you.
I got a pick me up with a samosa pav in the middle of the day. Just what I needed and it was delicious!
I eat often here. The service is very quick and staff are friendly. I am a vegetarian and love everything on the menu. Pastries are made without egg and many of them are Vegan. The cakes are super moist and yummy!. I believe they are opening a sit down restaurant style all new menu next door!!
Great customer service.. the menu is extensive and everything I have tasted is good.. they also have environmental friendly practices like using steel straws instead of plastic ones.. the prices are very reasonable considering the portion sizes
If you love Indian food and have not come to this restaurant / bakery then you have not had true Indian cuisine. Not only do they use all fresh ingredients, but there has not been one single dish that falls short of delicious. On top of that the owner is super sweet and is always working his hardest no matter what hour of the day we come by. They recently renovated and the place looks great. Definitely make this a regular spot!
It use to be a really nice cafe that I took my significant other to, but now they turned it into a restaurant. Same food, and they charge you the same amount. The catch now is they want you to tip the waiter, a rumba would be a better waiter than the staff they hired. Not only did it slow down the process of getting food, the waiter stares at you while you are signing the receipt.
Worst food i ever had.Our Stomach was in bad shape for two days after we had their food.No taste plus Paneer Kati Roll had no paneer and was worst of the Kind.Improve taste and quantity.
Place is an absolute joke. They lost my cake order, then frantically wrote in a different one that was not what I ordered, then proceeded to dodge phone calls for five days before saying they weren’t giving a refund. Total sham job, and I am a vegan who really wanted a good bakery.
Not happy with the direction its going. It used to be cool with the cafe style, but they made it into a restaurant style place which doesnt make any sense and it just slows down the whole process. Also I remember that I used to get bread w/ entrees. Not anymore? Lame.
Good people food ok
Best place to get South Indian street food!
While taking a stroll in Kentlands, I was curious about what dessert offerings were available at Hot Breads. I decided to get a Mango Mousse and Strawberry cake to try. I liked how the cake wasnt too sweet. I felt that the cake was buttery on the bottom but a bit dry throughout. I have yet to come back to their $9 lunch buffet happening daily from 10:30am to 2:30pm.
A wonderful South Asian fast food/snacks/bakery joint! Have been there several times and never been disappointed. Friendly staff and quick service. Food is always fresh and they are happy to make it as spicy as you like :-)Prices are quite economical for the quality of food. The decor is not amazing, with a South Asia essence, but it is clean and tidy.
Inexpensive place that serves quick and easy Indian fast food. A good place to meet for lunch or a snack. The food is not amazing, but it is pretty good for the price. I heard that the cakes here are really good, but havent tried them yet.
Act of Kindness with a yummy Dosa. I love the food here, it is pretty authentic and delicious.Free meal for furlough employees, small but significant act to do their part.Great job 👍👌
This review experience is for everyone that works at Adventist Healthcare Center-Germantown,Emergency Center. All of this started when we were having this Covid-19 pandemic for the past 2 to 3 months now to be exact. I would like to personally send my appreciation to Gopinath- who especially delivers his food to our emergency department here at AHC-Germantown Emergency Center. He consistently delivers his meals for everyone to enjoy both the main hospital and at Shady Grove Road Medical Center Drive as well as at the Germantown Emergency Center location. We or i highly recommend his restaurant for anyone to try their menu -if they have not yet experience a different kind of cuisine and dessert. Again, Gopinath-We all thank you very very much from the bottom of our hearts for your heartfelt and sincere generosity in this time of pandemic to all around the areas of Montgomery County as well as for the rest of the Fire Department and other area hospitals around the area. Thank you again for your sincere effort and generosity at this time.Sincerely,AHC-Security OfficerRomano C.
Reading some of these one-star reviews, it seems evident someone has a personal issue with the owner and convinced their friends to leave negative reviews. Great spot for vegetarians, with many of the choices vegan, as well, on the buffet.High quality ingredients, as far as I can tell.Great place, friendly owner.
Amazing cakes & delicious Indian food! The only place I ever order cakes from. Amazing service.
Good place for Egg less Cake and only cake. Rest I will rather stay hungry than eating out here. We tried various dishes at different occasions while there to pick up cake. Man they really need to learn how to cook. I wish I could rate them less than a single star but system wont allow.
Gteat tasting cakes including vegan and eggless options. My experience has usually been awesome at this place however taking 2 stars off because this time I got Tres Leches which was stale and spoiled, was disappointing. However the eggless black forest cake which I had ordered was great. On my previous visit I also bought Indian cookies and they were stale too. They do not have sampling option which can make it tricky to assess taste of cookies and as I experienced they turned out bad and stale.
The food and service is excellent. And the cake in the bakery is probably the best Ive ever had. And all items are priced very well. The only reason I would not give it 5 stars would be the low quality bathroom. Some bathroom makeover is needed along with adding HANDS-FREE Automatic paper towel dispenser which will be more sanitary for employees and customers. Nobody likes touching the door with bare hands when leaving bathroom. No hands-free paper towel makes customers doubt cleanliness. If they fix the bathrooms and add some hygienic features like hands-free paper towel, then it deserves full five stars. Thanks!
You cant tell from the name out front, but this place has amazing Indian food. My girlfriend and I stumbled into this spot about a couple of years ago looking for baked goods and we were pleasantly surprised to find that they also have delicious Indian cuisine. We go there at least every other week when we have our chana craving. They are also veg friendly, catering more so than other Indian restaurants. We are always satisfied with their food and good service. And they always have cricket playing on their tvs so you know the place is legit!
I order 80$ cake for my brother surprise birthday. His favorite was pineapple cake. When i placed an order yesterday i confirmed 5 times the order. Yet today the cake that we ate was plain non pineapple cake. Very disappointed...
Ordered two Dosas. As per their menu its $6 each. But when you get there price is $11 for each. When we showed the menu price the lady started showing attitude and wont honor the price. This place is scam! Watch out....
Cakes are amazing! Favorite place to get vegan cakes! Manger was attentive and made the process so easy.
Amazing service. Manager was very attentive and very kind. Cakes taste amazing especially strawberry cake
Good Indian lunch buffet, the employees are always nice to me. Expect the good to have a decent spice level, so if you cant handle heat, get a pastry instead.
Wished we had more places like this in DC metro, love there indo Chinese stuff. I am from N VA every time I am in the area I make sure to get Chicken Haka noodles, those are truly to die for. I know they have huge collection of other Indian foods too, as well as various cakes and pastries. Reminds me of flavor from back home.
The chocolate cake looks good but it is stale and tastes fermented and weird taste once you try to swallow it. It is very stale and staff has failed to remove it. I used to like it initially but never ever buy again
Consistently AMAZING, from the buffet and lunch special to dinner and dessert. Authentic Indian food at a great price and the cakes are delicious!
Good ambiance for family dining and tasty food.
Their VEGAN cakes are the BEST in the world. My husband and I love all their chaats! The prices are decent too!
The prices have gone up, the portions are much smaller and we received the worst customer service at the store today and not going back there again.
Bought pastries yesterday. The sweets were very stale.
Most delicious VEGAN cakes ive ever tasted. I ordered A custom cake from there and it was absolutely beautiful not to mention tasted amazing!
This place is the reason why I start eating Indian food. There food is made to perfection. They use fresh halal meat to prepare the food which is a plus.
Good food but I wish they keep the tables clean. All most all the time tables are left dirty. Even Mcdonald keeps them cleaned better! Where is the health department in Maryland.
Good food. Their service needs improvment. 3 star because online menu rates do not match their actual rates. Very misleading. Also the food is pricey for the quality
This place seemed to be great! The food was delicious, the cashier knew how to treat the customers, also, I was offered tomato chutney without even asking for it
Its a verygood place for authentic indian food.we ordered shrimp and butter chicken.they were really very delicious and kids liked it too.
Dont order the mini idly Sambhar you will be super disappointed. Ghee dosa is great.
Soooooo good and inexpensive! I come here all the time. Get the thali - one millions pounds of food for $6.50. Amazing. It is owned by a guy from Madras and he does all the cakes and food prep. His staff love him and he hires folks with disabilities too. Good people, good food, good prices.
Closed too early on the weekend. Food was OK. Noodles had tomato sauce - who does that? Sambhar (curry) with dosa was not more than 5 spoons. Packing was much fancier than the food. But place was clean and staff was very nice. Good for light snacks only.
I have ordered Samosa chat for to go, to my surprise after opening at home, it does not taste at all chat, theres hardly Samosa in it (looks like ready to cook tiny Samosa) and the price is $6. Never ever go to this place.
The dosas are fantastic. Vegetarian lunch buffet is fresh, tasty and the prices are reasonable.
The owner and manager are rude people. They talk to all in demeaning fashion. The place has no customers, plus their attitude. Dont ever go to this place. Food is subpar.
My new favorite lunch place along with Cava. Particularly great for vegetarians and vegans (vegan foods are marked on their menu). So many great dishes to choose from. Some of the best Indian food I have ever had - and Indian is my favorite (tied with Ethiopian and Indonesian). You must try this place either eating in or via GrubHub.
Very very bad customer service. I got a cake and requested the cashier to write Happy birthday on the cake. And the cashier asked another worker if he can write on a cake. I do not know what he replied and the cashier said We dont have anybody who can write on the cake. So I had to get the pen myself and write it.I think the owner should hire someone who can actually help customers and not just people who just give you your change back.
Order no-31 Date 9/15/16.I had chicken puff(which was terrible) and then i took 2 pastries(1 Mango,1-Strawberry) i have to admit they did not taste fresh.the pastries were very hard and finally the fruit cake, its good for nothing it is so hard and tasteless..Stop experimenting on peoples health and I just wasted my 16 bucks. I wonder how you guys are surviving.
Amazing authentic Indian food.. wud definitely go there again and again
Masala dosa is pretty good. 2 stars for the fact they refuse to give you tap or filtered water anymore (they used to have cups readily available to fill up at a water dispenser) Who wants to spend $1.50 on bottled water?
Worst food Worst restaurant , dont ever dare to eat biryani here If you order egg biryani they will give veg biryani with egg on top of it.
Their quality of food varies, one day its really good n other day average while third day it might be below par. Still i go there once in a while when i want to have indian junk food. Not the best place but some things better then nothing.
I have eaten here a couple of times. Wide variety of Indian cuisine. Nice ambience. The service is quick and the staff is friendly and helpful. Can dine or takeout. Good Dosas - and a great choice as well! Not too much of a wait time. Located in the Kentlands Market, Gaithersburg
My wife has severe egg allergy and this happened twice. Last time we got a black forest cake, special order Eggless, for my wifes birthday. She took her first bite and had a severe allergic reaction. Yesterday I was assured by people working there that the chocolate bomb cake is Eggless and this morning when my wife tried a small piece she again had an allergic reaction. Never going back to this place.
My food was delicious and the selection of desserts is very impressive!!!
Screwed up a few orders for cakes. Sad cuz theyre only game in town for eggless baked goods. Manager can never be reached for complaints. Staff is apathetic.I hear thier buffet is decent though.
The cake I ordered from website was no longer available, after a discussion with employees and manager they made the cake as I described. It was pretty awesome
A hidden gem in the Kentlands. Skip the desserts and go for the Indian food. Butter Chicken is so good and inexpensive!
Terrible gobi manchurian and onion uttapam. Half cooked uttapam. Only good thing is dosa and sev puri.. Gobi manchurian was oily wid all oniins..
Horrible. Second time eating here. the first time the food was cold but we came back to try it one more time and it was worse than the first time!! Cold dosa watery flavorless sambar and coconut chutney was watery and drippy. We even told the manager and he agreed about the watery drippy chutney and cold food but did nothing about itNever eating here again. Terrible service terrible food no wonder the restaurant is always empty
Good place for Indian. Tastes pretty authentic
Got cold pav bhajii. Biryani was not worth money we r paying. Pastry was only good thing I eat at this place.
I hate to give a bad review, but customer service was so pathetic, I wanted to let others know my experience. I bought a round cake, took it to home. The cake smelled like a rum/nailpaint, and tasted very weird. So called and took it back to the shop, they gladly accepted the cake back, but did not bother to refund the amount. At the time of return they said owner will callback for refund, which never happened. Also, tried to callback after couple of days, the person on phone didnt even bother to take my full details and hung up. It appeared they are not interested in returning the amount for a substandard item they sell. Will never visit them again.
Food is OK at best. Seems more like a fast food place.
Great service and food. Highly recommended
Service sucked.....
Good place for quick indian food
Decent food.. not too crazy about this place
Terrible Food. I have eaten at multiple Indian food joints back in India and now in USA, but havent tasted food terrible than this. The food is just dumped with Garam Masala (Bad for health and stomach if used in high quantity). Its not a first time experience but have been noticing this in my previous 1-2 visits, though todays experience was horrible. Never have I ever, tasted Rajma Masala as bad as made in this place today. I dont know how the chefs perceive the taste after cooking. I remember making 100 times better Rajmah Masala when I first made it. The place only invited me once or twice because of the varieties they serve but the quality is pathetic
Avoid at all cost. I order indo chinese. they cook in some weird yellow oil, quantity was less and half filled in rice and hakka noddles. They give spaghetti instead of hakka noodels. Manchurian was mushy. I had upset stomach after eating. I am going to dispute the charges
Amazing experience. Must visit for Indian fast food.
The place is going downhill so fast . They should just focus on cakes and close the food . That what happens when the owner is not thier and place is Rin by kids . Went on Saturday afternoon for lunch , hardly two people . Ordered Mysore maasla soda . Pathetic and horrible . Dosa was burnt and cold , Sambar seems like made couple of months ago , cold and nasty . Coconut chutney was watery without any coconut . Couldnt even eat the food . When I talked to people in counter Thu just smiled as who gives the f%#k kind of attitude no apologies. The never ask can we change for something else , ask them to bring Choley bhaturey , worse then dosa . I think the owner really dont care about the place anymore , when at Sunday lunch time you have only two people eating . I used to.love that place . Last time going ... Unbelievable and disgusted
Hot , spicy, fast and delicious! What more can one want?
This is the only place I know in the area that serves excellent Indian fast food such as vada pav, bhel, samosa chat, etc. I was surprised to find the prices on menu. Given the location, you would think it to be expensive but this is easily the least expensive place that serves Indian food I have been to. Just dont order chinese or something, you will regret it. Stick with fast food, choley bhatura, and pastry stuff. You would keep coming back.
Went for lunch today and ordered Chana bhatura and malai kofta. Two stars for Chana bhatura which was alright, but the malai kofta was the worst I have ever eaten. And was served with a hard and chewy naan and stale rice. Will never go again. Very disappointed.
Excellent, fast, cheap Indo-Chinese food. Most definitely order from the Indo-Chinese menu.
BUYER BEWARE, CREDIT CARD SCAMMERSRUDE OWNER WILL CHEAT YOU OF YOUR MONEYThis place used to be a decent little shop for cakes and pastries, used to come here for many years. I went in to order a box of six cakes. Later on, I saw that a teenager cashier overcharged my credit card for more than the cakes I bought. I went in and a different lady cashier would not do anything about it and told me I had to call the owner myself when he comes in. I called the owner later that day and told him about the overcharge and yells a lot and says “What do you want me to do about it?” in an arrogant tone. This guy is very rude and unprofessional. Then he hung up on me. I called again and he finally said he will remove the overcharge, I’ll have to check my credit card statements to see if he really will. I will never come here ever again now that I know what kind of person runs this place. This guy has zero clue what customer service is and how to run a business.
Bought cream Roll from here ...!Just top part was filled with cream remained portion completely empty...!Did baught pastry ( Black Forest) smell bad so, I did trash it...!
Great indian food
