Favorite restaurant for south indian cuisine!! A trip to Frankfurt is incomplete without visiting here! Waited to long for it to reopen, wasn’t disappointed with the food at all. Lovely staff, great new ambience, same amazing food!🥰🥰

That first taste of sambhar took me back to India. 😊 The balanced flavor of the coconut and spices made us just eat it with a spoon long after our dosa and idly vanished.I read alot about poor service, but I have to say we experienced nothing of the sort. The host was welcoming and requested our impfpass, then led us to our table. He also changed us to a bigger table on request. (Could be cause it was after 9 pm and so customers were clearing out. The waiters came to take our order quickly and brought our food out in good time.The outer part of the dosas were perfectly crispy and thin, and held together slightly spongier middle. All encasing lightly spiced creamy turmeric potatoes and fiery milagaipodi.Dont forget to finish off your meal with some soothing filter coffee in its signature steel tumbler.To top it all off, they are extremely reasonably priced.If I lived in Frankfurt, Id be here every week.

No major complaints about the food. But the place is absolutely chaotic. Not sure if the tables are arranged with covid rules on mind. You can pretty much eat out of your neighbors table. Only for foodies who have the patience not to get distracted by other elements around you.

Outstanding food close to the station. Among all branches of Saravana Bhavan (and I have been to their branches all over the world), this one takes the cake for the best quality food and service. Extremely well run even when running to full capacity. Expect to wait as lines build up for lunch over the weekends.

Being a South Indian, this place is closest match to all my food cravings. Their Dosas are amazing, as always. I have also tried their “Kaima Idly” and “Gobi Manchurian”. They’re all super tasty as well! Most of the times it’s just been Dosas on the table for me, but will keep visiting this place to try many of their other specialties.Also, don’t forget to try their “Mango Lassi” because they’re so soothing!Their ambiance and service is appreciative, even though the staffs left us unattended for quite sometime.Otherwise, everything’s good! Keep it up guys!!

Authentic South Indian food with a great variety to choose from. Highly Recommended place to have original South indian food.Service was little bit uncoordinated, we got main course first and then the coffee and starters ( all were served almost the same time).

The food was good and the staff were nice! But the manager at the door who is 60+ something was extremely condescending and rude. I pay for my food and being in a customer facing role he could be a little nicer or just let someone else handle his job. I don’t feel like going back here because of him!

I found this place by luck and was not disappointed. Very authentic and tasty Indian vegetarian food that was served to me very quickly as I had a train to catch. Had a thali (15€) and a mango lassi (4€), probably a tiny tiny bit pricey but it’s worth it. I found the staff to be nice and helpful. The customers seem to be mainly of Indian background, which says a lot about this restaurant. Next time I’m in Frankfurt I’ll definitely come back.

The place has been fully renovated and gives the feel of an modern restaurant..!! I tried Dosa and Mysore filter Coffee and they were both amazing..!! I specially liked the Mysore filter coffee as it tasted pretty much like authentic filter coffee and that is something rare to find in Germany..!! The price seemed to be at a fair range and not heavily priced..!! It is located very close to Frankfurt am Main Hbf and easy to find. The place also offers a outdoor seating area.

Although it was Sunday morning there were very good amount of customers. We tried their Channa Batura & Dosa. Both of them were good and satisfied with the taste but mix vegetable Paratha wasnt that good. It was bit salty.Lacchi was normal. Nothing special about it.Support staffs were friendly and welcoming. Recommended.

We waited 30 minutes to be seated DESPITE having called in advance and asked if a reservation was necessary.Dont say you dont need a reservation on the phone if youre going to let your guests wait in the cold for 30 minutes.

My favorite south Indian restaurant in Frankfurt. The service is good, super delicious food, reasonable price, kind people... Everything is super. Also I like the atmosphere especially about that we can see the kitchen area.

Food is great but there was one manager (old man +60 age who was providing the table) who is kinda rude or something.He was disrespectful to the customer and behaving weird. Other staff were nice but not the manager.I visit regularly here but I saw this old man for first time. I think management should take some action if they want to have happy customer service at their restaurant.

Very bad quality of Churtneys and sambhar. All churtneys are freeze stored and cold. There is no vegetables in sambhar at all. The rawa dosa was not at all good. It was soggy and not tastes good like in India. Just waste of money and it may give bad stomach. Giving 2 star just for gulab jamoon and interiors.

Food and service was good on the 1st day (was served by a lady)We went again next day and was served at the entrance by a gentleman in green wearing specs. When we showed the vaccination certificate on our phone which has the vaccination effective date, he wanted to see the actual vaccination date (in a rude tone). We obliged. Then he wants to see our identification document! Even government museums in Germany did not ask us for these things. We felt insulted and left.

This place is absolutely chaotic. No complains about the food in particular. They don’t have capacity to cater the number of people they take entry. Poor and rude management.

The location is a bit shady and reduces the charm of the restaurant. Service is nice and food is typical to Sarvana Bhavan all across Europe.

Im sad to give even two stars.The waiters are not taught enough about servicing. The chutney are bland. No salt, no balance. The masala dosa was overly greasy, i wouldnt recommend that. The rice served was directly from fridge, and was yesterdays or the day before. Bye.

Restaurant is clean and big compared to other saravana Bhavan properties in Europe. Service is good and quick. Taste was not as authentic as it should be but definitely not bad. Worth a visit if you are in that part of the town.

We were really excited to try this after thier reopening but honestly we were very disappointed with the taste. We ordered the onion Dosa and it was so bad and not authentic. The onions were kept inside them without cooking . I was under shock with this preparation. Another order was vada sambhar and vadas were extremely cold , we told them to give hot ones and they said they prepare in morning so thats how is it and then we actually had to convince them to reheat the vada. Overall I would say just because its the online South Indian restrau people are coming to them but in real it is doing pretty bad with the taste and service both

Wonderful experience. For genuine indian food, especially South Indian food in Germany this is the best restaurant by far!

I went here twice, this is a high mean high variance place based on my visita. They have really quick service ( I would say too quick, you dont feel like you went out for food). They serve everything at the same time, starters, mains, desert, coffee, making things less enjoyable at times. The first time I went there the food was really good. The next time it was cold and not very good. They forgot to add salt in a dish it seems, and probably served us slightly stale dishes. We also had some stomach upset the next day.

Travelled all the way from another city to just taste the authentic South Indian food with a friend of mine.Pros: Ambience is good, clean place, pretty fast service than expected, price is good, madras coffee 👌🏼Cons: food was not upto the expectation. The authentic Mysore masala dosa was not at all like the way it had to be. I would rate it 2/5.Mendu vada was not crispy and was not well fried and would rate it 2/5. Paneer biriyani tasted good but lacked presentation (4/5).Overall, I was disappointed. Well, posting some pictures for reference.

I was there on Saturday and I ordered Dosa. The service was super fast but unfortunately the dosa was super cold. It felt like it was prepared some time ago.Taste was okay but it could be better when its warm :(

Pretty decent vegetarian food. They have a mix of South Asian (like Indian) as well as some Chinese options. I really like the curry because it has a bit of spice but skating tons of additional flavor. Service was OK. Not the greatest value.

Food was okay but the service was really bad.I had ordered dosa as a parcel since I was told parking is a problem. After 15 mins of searching I got parking and went to collect and asked if they can serve me there. To surprise it was not possible and I must order 2 times to eat there. The manager was also not interested and told food once packed cannot be served. Really really bad service.

I dont mind giving them a 5 star. Unless other kitchen, it is hard for indian kitchen to be clean. The place was clean and nice interiors too.As a south indian, I found the taste here really authentic( I have tried only south indian dishes)The thali for 15 euros is nice, only drawback is that you need to call staff everytime if u need something.Positives : Authentic tasty saravana bhavan standards, reasonable price. Tasty vegetarian south indian food.Negatives: Some staffs are not that friendly(would be great if you people remember that customer service is most important thing in Germany) Would be great if they remove used plates from tables.Still happy to visit and enjoy the food. Good to see Sarvanaa Bhavan in brand new look, big space and modern chic style. They moved just a block down from their old place. A reason more to visit the restaurant!

The atmosphere of the restaurant is not too pleasant but comfortable and modern. The location is near Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof, which is golden. Vegetarian food is served here. The price is fair and its range is low. The presentation of dishes is good.I paid €15.00 for my North Indian Thali and €4.0 0 for the Mango Lassi. As a Vietnamese, I found the food decent. However, my Indian and Indonesian friends enjoyed it so much. One drawback that should be mentioned is the service is not too good.

The only get away to get good South Indian food in Frankfurt......This place is usually crowded and yet they do their best to serve their customers.If you reach just in time for lunch or dinner you can see people lined up outside for admission.The food is good, but the prices are towards the higher end. And for obvious reasons its only fair because you get good Indian food in an foreign land.

I have been there once, but still remember the crisp dosa and smooth idlys. The restaurant absolutely deserves the credit. They truly bring South Indian flavours alive

Visited this place with some of my friends. The South Indian thali was delicious. We had ordered some starters but they were not tasty.

Easy to find and Indian food here actually tastes like Indian food. Price and delivery are excellent. Staffs are friendly, place is super clean. It’s a highly recommended restaurant in Frankfurt for Indians and Indian food lovers.

We three adults had 2 vaccination received, and they didnt allowed us to sit inside because our child didnt had negative test results, and then we waited outside for 1 hour to get a seat outside, then one Mr.Haider, staff was so unfriendly, he was showing so much attitude, and asked us to wait faraway, or take a seat with no sunshade, he was not even considering our baby (1year).so rude behaviour. Then afterwards we ordered masala dosa, which came with no masala or namesake masala in it. Really disappointing. We are coming only because of our nostalgia with saravana Bhavan, but like these staff, and unjustified rules makes people stay away.Please take care of these.

TASTE OF FOOD WAS SO BLANT ! NO MASALA NO SPICES TOTALLY LIKE FUNERAL IN INDIA .Ordered two dishes for two people just one came after almost 40 mins and other one they forgot to serve . No sauces in the beginning to eat with papadam like in other Indian restaurants and Mango Lassi was like just so so much sugar in yogurt not like other Indian restaurants. Just overrated restaurant nothing more than that .

Was waiting for long for Saravanaa Bhavan Frankfurt to open up after the covid lockdown. Finally visited it twice on a Saturday in August 2021 for both brunch and early dinner. Ordered a plain dosa(was not fully cooked), onion dosa (onion and dosa were separate) and ghee roast and a filter coffee (was the only thing of kind-of-acceptable taste) for brunch around 11:00 am. Service was fast. But I could eat the dishes only with some sense of revolting sensation. I ate them because I dont waste food. It came to around 25 euros (left 5 euro tip in addition to about 25 euros bill payment. Not sure whether the same guy who served me first got the tip or not because many people serve one table). Not too expensive. But the taste was terrible. In the evening visited again the same place thinking of giving it another chance. Ordered paper roast, onion uthapam, curd-vada and mango lassi. They messed up by giving me masala dosa instead of paper roast. When pointed out they replaced it with a paper roast. Again the taste was as bad as it was in the morning. I was feeling like I was about to throw up if I continued eating after the first item. Probably I should not order everything in the beginning hereafter anywhere. Again the service was fast. Im a lover of curd/yogurt. But the curd vada here was again too terrible. Curd in general should taste sour and sweet. But this curd was bland yogurt tasting odd with vada. Service: One table is being served by multiple persons. So its hard to say who messed up with the wrong service. Anyways reduced the tip this time to 3 euros totalling up to 28 euros. The worst part is this: Nobody was interested in getting any feedback. Even when I told the guy at the register that I wanted to give some feedback, the response was unenthusiastic. I told him that the taste was not good at all for all the dosa items (uthapam was kind of okay though as also was the filter coffee in the morning). He just said thank you for the feedback without even asking why I said so. Overall I wasted a day travelling about 1.5 hours each way from my place just to eat here. Seems like this restaurant is not run by a south Indian now. Not going to go there ever again. My home cooking is lot more south Indian than this place.

Tasty food. kind polite staff .

Had an unpleasant experience today. We were about to order but the person by name Ramesh who takes order told us that we have already ordered!! He kept arguing with us ( he could have at least once checked in the system or reconfirmed table number). We were like its been just 2-3 mins since we came in. Later I noticed he had a wrong table number on his device and hence he had wrong information. He was not even sorry for this. Also, they did not have most of the dishes we asked.It took them 45 mins to serve a plate of Idly sambar.! Luckily the taste was not bad. Maybe they made it fresh after the person next to our table complained that idly was cold and spongy to eat. Babycorn Manchurian was very bland not just in terms of heat, but it hardly had any soy sauce or any flavor. All it had was maybe some salt and little bit of pepper. Also felt like it was heated in microwave as it was not equally heated.Long story short, Sarvana Bhavan after corona lockdown is not the same! The quality has gone down too low and the person who takes order is too arrogant and theres nothing like a good customer experience anymore.Hope the owner takes the reviews seriously and keeps a check on quality that is served. Being a South Indian I just cannot recommend this restaurant anymore.

Even After reopening, the food was as good as pre-lockdown. The South Indian meals was really tasty. Also the parotta kuruma.

Tasteless food, very slow service and unorganized. Was so excited to eat there, as I heard so much about this restaurant but this place is totally overhyped. No authentic taste at all.

This is a great restaurant. Excellent food, and the Curries actually taste very different from each other which is quite a rarity in Germany! Even though it’s a vegetarian you can really get a good meal here, and the prices are reasonable. Highly recommended.

Really great place. Great service & great people. From South india to North Indian, all types of dishes are available here. Food is also not to spicy or oily. I think its because of their many European customers.

Good food. Other branches like the one in Paris are better. But nonetheless, still yummy Saravana Bhavan food. Baby corn was delicious.

Food is tasty and similar to saravana bhavan s across other countries. Service might be slow during busier hours however having this reataurent for vegetarian South Indian choices is just nice and cannot expect much. Location is superb and closer to station and offices.I visited couple of times during my 2 week stay and quiet happy with most of the items I tried. However I didn’t quiet like Indian Chinese items such as Manchuria items or panner items. Hence I sticked to dosas and other south India items which are tasty.

If you are Dosa lover you have a plenty of options for it. One may get confused to choose the Dosa they want to eat since so many are the varieties here. The one and only Indian restaurant in Germany that serves authentic south Indian food. It tastes just like home. Though a bit pricey, it is totally worth it.

This is worldwide South Indian Vegetarian chain restaurant. I got the paneer makhani. It was the first dish Ive had in Germany that was actually spicy! In a good way! Tasted very authentic and more like home cooked food versus the cream laden, belly busting curries often served in restaurants. Overall is very good

Authenticate South Indian Flavors right in the heart of the Frankfurt City..

I have always enjoyed food at every saravanaa bhavan but this one, this is the place where dosa is served cold but not water. The dosa was like prepared 20-30 minutes ago and was a bit spicy, though i balanced it with tomato chutney. Idli was good but again vada was cold and not properly fried, thus it was a bit disappointing visiting there this time.

Nice South Indian Restaurant. Vada sambar was great. Gobi 65 was very tasty. Good coffee. Onion Uthappam and Parota were bit uncooked, May be chef needs to understand if the item is bit thick he has to cook it bit more.

This is the restaurant for South Indian Veg lovers at affordable price with excellent service and hospitality. Not much waiting for the order. Very good ambient lighting with good varieties of food. Easily reachable from Hbf.I personally not liking the entrance but other than that all are fine.
