It is located in Beerwah  area of Budgam district . Situated at an altitude of 2,730 metres (8,960 ft) from sea level, it is located at a distance of 42 km (26 mi) from union Territorys summer capital Srinagar  and 22 km (14 mi) from district headquarters Budgam . Kashnmir is considered as the heaven on the earth ..Doodhpathri Is famous for The milky water that flows with a high speed ..There we can get some food items also near to the water but the cost of those items is high as they have to bring that from a long distance .. The Kashmiri Nun Chai we can have there on the sideways while going to this place..

A 2 hrs drive from Srinagar, apt for a day trip. Beautiful meadows, forest area, huts of the Gujar tribes, are all to behold. A pony takes through all the points, charges around 1-1.5k for approx 1.5-2 hrs ride. This place is closed during winter due to heavy snowfall. This is one of the less touristy spots but definitely not inferior to any other.

This is lovely place to visit, especially in summer. The scenic beauty that you get heres really great. This place isnt that popular with tourists so you wont find it very crowded. It has a water stream with very cold and clean water. If you stay in water for more than a minute there you can call yourself super human.

An amazing place to trek. This place experiences a lot of rainfall. Try to find a cottage and stay. We found a local who offered to guide us on a trek. Beautiful views. Try exploring on foot rather than on a horse.

The lush green grasses over the vast meadows and silver shining streams running over the large stones further increase its beauty. Doodhpathri is sloping grassy landscapes with a diversity of multicolored flowers up to Chang. An amazing place, with fresh air and a river adds more to its beauty.But there is no parking for vehicles, so vehicles are parked on roads which causes traffic jam.

Hidden gems of Kashmir, its bit bad road on the way to doodhpatri but once you have reached you will discover a pure Heaven more beautiful than Switzerland.

Amazing place , full of solace, totally natural negligible human intervention

The place is amazingly beautiful, the meadows, woods n the crystal clear Doodganga river all real gifts from Allah. The Govt is not serious to develop this amazing place.

Beautiful place, all the excitement after two hours journey there is totally spoilt by the local boys call themselves agent/guide/ghorawala. They are not authorised to stop or force anyone, but they still stop all taxiies. Ask for very high rates, which is not required at all, as cars can go till the spot.For other site seeing you may need a horse for joy ride.Few tourist went back without visiting the tourist point because of them. Not sure why local tourism department take action against them and put in a system in place to employ them and make it a better place for tourist.

You can enjoy kashmiri noon (salt) tea and bread by the local vendors at many places.To use washrooms, head to the Tourist centre building (ground floor) suitated near the entry gate.

Best place ever.

A less explored, heaven on earth kind of place, only 3 hours from Srinagar. Since there are few tourists that visit this place, this is not exploited and offers a wonderful experience. Do visit the local house(s), have their tea (kahwa) and strike up conversation with them. These are mostly people with horses whose livelihood depends on the tourists. They are very humble. There is no cellular network at this point, so be prepared for that.

Superb place cant be missed out as this place is not attracted by tourist. You must visit this place lush green pastures and milky white water.

The place is very beautiful with serene grasslands and the doodh ganga river makes it more attractive for the visitors.

A very nice place around 50km from srinagar. Newly developed by jk tourist department. You can hire a horse for 800 to go up to the spring call doodhpatri. The water looks like milk so its called doodhpatri.

Lush green meadows greet you at Doodhpathri. The place has been less explored by tourists from outside the state but is a must visit place in your travel basket for kashmir. At the end there is shali ganga river with its fast flowing water through which stones in the river appear white, hence the name doodhpathri. Please note that there are only 1-2 proper restaurants in the area. Zaika restaurant is run by JKTDC but the taste may not cater much to the people from outside. Also the road to Doodhpathri is filled with potholes and thus it takes 2 hrs to reach there even though it is only around 45 km from Srinagar. Avoid visiting on Sunday as many locals spend the day here for picnic and there can be heavy traffic jam as you can see from some of the pics I have posted.

AWESOME PLACEDoodhpathri is Nearly 45KM from Srinagar(Dal Gate) This place is under Development Phase and is Mostly untouched till date .The place is Full of Devdoor trees.There are Lush Green meadows around were one Relax or Play with there loved ones. There is also a Small place were in your kinds can have fun like trampoline mini Rail etc. There is only one Restaurant by the name Zaika. Entry Fee is just Rs 20 for private 4 wheeler. Also one can enjoy Namkeen Tea in traditional Samawar along with Corn Chapati.Those who are Nature loving people will find this place Amazing and Never forgetful....

This is best tourist destination where facilities are increasing with every passing day.

Doodhpathri is a beautiful meadow with emerald grass that looks like a green carpet. A beautiful river dancing and reverberating with the wind flows in the middle of the meadow, lending it a splendid charm and vibrancy. The place looks very beautiful and pleasant. The green grass under the feet is really wonderful.

If you are in Srinagar its a must visit. Totally worth it. You will get an awesome drive to the mountains, herd of goats, grassland, mountains, river. A few points, for them you can do trek. Just 40km from the Srinagar Airport.

It is such a nice place to visit. The natural terrain and the landscape is amazing. The place is in its original shape with less development. There is little to no pollution.The place is surely worth watching I suggest you get you meals and snacks with you because you wont get your favorite foods there.Since the terrain is mountainous, so I suggest get yourself a heavy engine car.
