Clock tower is a nice place to chill in the evening . It’s like the town centre and clock rings every hour. Chaat stalls are amazing and it’s well connected to the market. I’m the evening there is too much of traffic

This clock tower is at the major crossing, which leads to all the 4 major parts of the city, almost always congested due to huge traffic. Very near to this is the famous Nagender Namkeen waala and A-One Kulfi Faluda.

In Fazilka there are not much places to see. Most crowded places in evening is clock tower. There are many shops around this location. In previous time clock tower is place to see the time but now a days these places are only for doing time pass.

The original name of this historical building is Ram Narayan Ghantaghar which was dedicated to the public by Seth Shopat Rai Pediwal Rai Sahib Madan Gopal Pediwal. Ghantaghar (Clock Tower) has four gates opposing the four main bazaars on all the directions.Its inauguration board is also in four languages. It has 82 stairs to reach to the top and there is a clock on all the four sides having the machines in the center.All the clocks are in working condition and after every hour we hear sounds of bang equal to the number of hours .This clock tower is like the Heart of the Fazilka town .

The construction of 95 feet high monument was started in 1936 and completed on June 6, 1939. The original name of this historical building is Ram Narayan Ghantaghar which was dedicated to the public by Seth Shopat Rai Pediwal Rai Sahib Madan Gopal Pediwal. It was president over by ICS commissioner, Jalandhar Division MA PCS. At that time, SDM was Rai Sahib Lila Dhar Vidhyadhar and Municipal Council President, Seth Shyopat Rai.The Ghantaghar (Clock Tower) has four gates on all the directions and the inauguration board is also in four languages. It has 82 stairs to reach to the top and there is a clock on all the four sides having the machine in the center. It has an important place in the development of the Fazilka. City. The successful agitation to form the Fazilka as district headquarters was also started from this place. Moreover, it is a winess to all revolutions and struggles for the welfare of the city. Its council is pending a lot of money to keep beatify this monument keeps the morale of the citizens high. But the people of the city are not taking care of its cleanliness. Some citizens misuse the building, in the shadow of darkness, which gives a foul smell and certain social organizations deface the building by pasting the handbills on the walls.On its 79th birthday, the citizens of Fazilka salute to its founder and congratulate the Municipal Council to look after for its maintenance.

Went after long time and I was happy to see that old monument was renovated and kept well in working condition. I felt like people have started caring their history and they have started preserving their sentiments. May be some more upgradation will give more edge. Ample of local eating joints which are serving from last many years. Entire market is nearby where you can purchase anything for your household requiremtn.
