One of the biggest spot in Istanbul! I recommend at least half a day for visiting. And its better you get the museum pass, itself already worth the money. It has four main sections, and each sections have many some exhibitions. You can learn a lot about Islamic arts and culture. And at the end there is a very nice coffee next to the sea, the cakes there are just amazing, the price is a bit higher but with the view it worth it.

This palace is one of the most beautiful places in Turkey. It shows the greatness of that time were the Ottoman Empire was rolled the world. You will feel history pass throw out your chest.Its a great experience. I recommend every one to visit the Topkapi Palace The High Door Palace

Beautiful historical landmark in Istanbul! Highly recommend. A definite must see. I recommend buying tickets in advance. The lines were incredibly long. Also ladies, be prepared to cover your head/hair in certain areas of the palace.

Has some good photo spots on the outside. Underwhelming on the inside. The audio guide didnt have much in terms of history. The palace is fairly new in historic terms, with most of it being built in the 19th century or so.

It was so awesome to walk and see such old buildings and think about the history of those places. I enjoyed so much of this historic place! pictures views, beautiful interiors, and exteriors. The ticket is a bit pricey but in the end, you spend there the whole day abs it’s absolutely worth it

The palace is a great experience. It has a lot of buidings and things to see. It is very well maintained. I loved the details on some of the buidings, that were kept for hundreds of years. Also the weapons are incredible. I recommend a visit to anyone.

You should have passport with you if you want get guide machine. Which works in way that everywhere you should find the number and press it to hear the story. The place very beautiful and amazed with size. Definitely must visit.

Walking along the historic buildings of a once a great empire is a valuable experience. It’s amazing to see the cultural influences from all over the world and how they shaped the current Turkish culture.I’m not quite sure of the authenticity of some items they had on display, like the famous spoonmaker’s diamond, but overall it was quite enjoyable to see this well preserved chapter of the Ottoman history.

Nice palace with historical relevance. The gardena and setting is great, but rooms and buildings are not as grandeur other European palaces, still worth to visit. However, 20 euro to enter is too high and unfair compared to other European places.

If you ever wanted to experience the lavish life of a Sultan this is the place for you. The grounds are immense, the construction magnificent and the rooms lavishly decorated. I took away one star because the place is both incredibly big and incredibly crowded, we did it as part of a 2 hour tour but quite honestly you need at least 2 or 3 days to really be able to access all the areas. Taking pictures was almost impossible because of the amount of people visiting. Overall is a must-see when in Istanbul, you cannot come to Istanbul and miss this place but take a whole day tour if you really want to enjoy it.

The Palace is a must see if you enjoy history. They are bust with renovations but you still have access to a lot of places in the Palace. I would recommend that you take a tour guide with you to share their knowledge and make sure you have the full history. Turkey have very well trained tour guides.

Eveyone who came first-time to Islambul, need to visit this place. Just couple of tips: church Irina not worth entrance price, but other part of palace is mandatory. Moreover recommend everyone to go early in morning, becouse you need minimum 4 hours to see everything without running around..

This is the Grand Palace of the sultan. Its a rather large place with different sections I highly recommend to visit it while youre in istanbul. Also suggest to get the museum pass prior to going to it. The museum pass is 360 lira and the entrance to the Palace is 285 lira. So the past will pay itself off right away

Enjoyed so much of this historical place! Make sure to see their kitchen area, its so huge with so many tableware and silverware displayed! I also came earlier to buy the tickets and avoided a crowd.

The palace is amazing and so rich with heritage and history! I would recommend going to the place and seeing the Hamer (you will have to pay an additional cost for this) But, I recommend you, if you are in Istanbul for more than 5 days, please get the member-pass (360 Turkish Lira) and if you are visiting other parts of Turkey as well, I would recommend you get the member-pass (600 Turkish Lira). They both are a little pricey but you will be able to get your moneys worth when you experience all other museums and palaces in Turkey! One of the must visit places in Istanbul, Turkey. If you are traveling to Istanbul and you want to know more about historical details of Ottoman Empire, I highly suggest to visit Topkapi Palace. Museum is excellent detailed history of Sultanate. Unfortunately price to harrem is over priced.

Must visit place in Istanbul, especially if you are Muslim, you will love it. There are lots of belonging of holy prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbhu) and his companions.

A historical place worth visiting.But I think that the ticket prices are a little high.. Also in some places people stand for a long time in front of some of the displayed pieces, which causes crowding! This was so bad during the Corona pandemic that I had to walk out of line and avoid watching these pieces!

So much history and the exhibitions of the armory and clocks was fascinating. Love the tiles and design and gardens.

The place is huge and I could have spent a whole day there. If you enjoy old time weaponry such a swords, shields and early guns, there is a building just for you.

Prizes for entry are a little bit high but very reasonable because of the very beautiful area. Gardens are excellent and very beautiful. Sadly there were a few restaurations going on while we were there so we were not able to see everything but this is no ones fault. Waiting times at the ticket offices are pretty long.Conclusion: worth every penny and every minute. I recommend to book an audio tour, there are many languages available and the information is great if you are not fluent in English. It is not directly needed because there are also many information-boards.

It might be on the expensive side but it is a huge palace and you can easily spend hours exploring it. So I think its worth it.

Very nice place to visit when you are in Istanbul, it is next to ayasophia mosque and the blue mosque. The queue is very long! You might take at least one hour just to get your tickets. Or you can buy them online before you visit it in one day

This beautiful Topkapi Palace was built ordered by Mehmed II in mid 15 century after conquering Constantinople, serving as the administrative headquarters and the residence of the royal family of the Ottoman Empire for hundreds of years.

The place is so....big and awesome view..it is worthy for visiting it.

A place that shaped the fate of an important part of Europe forever. Must see: The Staff of Moses, The Sword of King David, the Divan, the beheading fountain, etc.

The palace is a little shabby compared to other palaces I have visited. The ticket buying is painfully slow (couldnt understand why there is no machines for that), and some locals (tour guides?) cut in the line frequently. They also force you to buy combo tickets. All in all, the view doesnt worth the price tag.

Its a wonderful experience with lots of history to know about Islam. Highly recommend to visit.

It has a very lovely view of the city besides all of the historic items

There were many tourists who do not respect the museum itself. Even though there is a sign not to take any picture, they still did. Not all of the security guards were enhancing this regulation. Some of them pretended not to see what the tourists did. The management needs to train their security better.

A must visit place at Istanbul.. its historical, beautiful, one of top heritages of the world.

I was expecting something that was lavishly decorated and opulent in its nature. However, compared to other palaces, Topkapi Palace (now a museum) was rather conservative. Nevertheless, its still a beautiful palace that brought about a sense of its serenity. The architecture is wonderful throughout. Such places are indeed historical, because similar places may never be built again, given modern methods of construction and budget limitations. It had a museum of many religious artifacts from the times of the Prophet Muhammad and his companions; which, Im sure would be inspiring to believers. Such as the Prophets Sword and Bow, or the swords of all the first four Caliphs.

Huge palace with lots to see. The Treasury is magnificent. However, it is quite expensive (280 to see everything) and there are far too many people so you have to queue to see anything worthwhile. The audioguide has the longest queue and without It the information available in many parts is very limited. It would be much better if the museum sold its tickets online instead and capped the number of visitors per day, especially during the pandemic. This would also avoid huge queue at the entrance.

Topkapı - one is the best place in Istambul.

Wonderful place. So many artifacts of sultans but the most important are the belongings of Holy Prophet PBUH and the swords of the 4 rightly guided calips

A walk back in time. Have good shoes lots of walking up and down. Most amazing section is that of the Holy relics

The ticket price, TR 200, is too much for this historical place. Most people dont get to go inside the main palace area due to that. Overall, this area is the heart of Istanbul having preserved art and architecture from the Roman to the Ottoman times. Topkapi Palace itself a perfect object of beauty in the middle of all that.

Its nice but scatters, every room (chamber) is in the garden or far from the other room.... Not like dolmabahce palace which is more beautiful.Enterance fees are 285 tl per person, or 200 tl if you dont want to visit the HARAM section.Not worth the money in my opinion.

An historical and not so well looked after old Palace of the Ottoman Emperors it offers a fascinating insight into the turbulent history! Unfortunately most of the displays, furniture, ornaments and jewels look dusty and need a good clean. The diamonds and jewels could also do with a good polish to bring out the shine!

Disclaimer: Topkapi Palace was actually closed to tourists going inside on the day I visited, so this review only covers the grounds of the palace, which are just as beautiful as the interior. I highly recommend anyone take a tour of this place, including a stroll through the grounds. Get your camera ready for some iconic photo-ops, such as in front of the castle-esque, arched entrance point that people can walk through. See my photos for inspiration, but don’t JUST be inspired—be excited to book your plane tickets and experience it yourself!

Its okay, a lot of exhibitions were under construction. The entrance is quite expensive. Around 35$. There isnt much to see. However I did enjoy using the audio guide which was free with passport.

The palace is nice and it is worth to visit. BUT no online solution to buy tickets easily, so more than an hour waiting in the sun with many people bypassing the queue. We felt already tired before starting the visit. I must add that to the price ticket is a little bit high with a complusory audio guide to take..

A majestic place with a history of over five centuries.

I will give only 3 start for the reason that you cannot buy ticket only for tokapi. They sell the tickets as a package and it is very expensive compared with the lifestyle of Istanbul. As a comparison I payed 15 eur for Musee du Louvre in Paris and ~22 eur for this.You can visit a lot of weapons and cuisine staff and if you are a fan maybe it is worthy. For me was almost a waste of time, but I do not visit Istanbul every day so I dont regret it.For me the most important thing to see was the sword of Stephan the Great (Stefan cel Mare) but this is because Im Romanian and he was one of ours great leaders.Price: between 200 - 300 TL; ~ 22 - 30 EURTime to visit: ~ 3-4hAtmosphere: crowded

An absolutely piece of art, it cost 100 Libras the entrance fee . There is so much history about all the sultans life that I felt like walking back in time and observing a piece of history, a little piece in my mind of the ottomanEmpire . Great visit

Surprisingly not as elegant and Luxurious as i thought it is going to be.

Half of exhibitions closed. 200 lira to view old bricks… Hagia Sofia despite being converted to mosque offers much more cultural value. Staff barely speak any other language than Turkish. I am very much disappointed with what I saw. Trash flying around the place …

The Topkapi palace is really large and beautiful. The museum pass was $600 TL but thats cheep for full access all across turkey. The Haram area is a must see, and the history is just outstanding.

One of the most spiritual place for me in Turkey. The relics of Holy Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H and many other prophets. The entrance ticket is too much 200TL for the palace only excluding HARAM, but the spiritual motivation pushed to visit it.

This year topkapi costs 280 Lira. It shares topkapi palace , hurem, hagia irine and tour guide.If u dont have enough money , you can just walk in the yeard.

It is great place to visit. But, there were some construction work, so we couldnt visit all parts of the palace

Very nice palace with gardens. There are English info beside the displays. There is also a chance to get tickets by paying with cards and avoid long lines (near the fat lane). At least two hours needed in my opinion. Toilets and store available
