Centrally located right off Lee hwy in a complex which is anchored by Chuys and right next to a Walmart is Bombay cafe which has fresh foods and sweets.This is the place to go for working professionals who want indian food in an fast food environment,or for the westerners who want to try indian food Which is not spicy,and had all western people favorite like butter chicken,paneer,samosas.Their chats are good and so are there sweets.

Dahi vada was too sweet, I expected a bit spicy though. Heard a lot of their samosa...but didnt find anything special in it. Some of the sweets are really good specially laddoos.

The only reason I’m giving them one start is because of the service and attitude towards customers.If you ask for extra chat masala or chatni they 1st don’t even want to give you like it a diamond., if you ask to pay for it the want to charge $1 each.Ridiculous way of doing food business.

Who can not rate this place as a five star place. One of the best Sweet (Methai) and buffet place. Specially I love their Jalebe yummy

Some days especially during lazy winter times and post busy office week, there are usual cravings for desi food - Paranthey and bhaturey - which seem impossible to be fulfilled by burgers waffles and pancakes. I finally found first Indian place which satisfied my longed for weekend breakky desires.. Quite similar to our fav Sukhdev from murthal dhabas.. It’s Bombay Cafe✨✨ Not to forget fresh samosas is a speciality here and you get it half the price being a samosa club member ❤️

Today’s was my 2nd visit. Absolutely, no semblance of customer service. The manager Adriana had no clue of what she was doing and what business they are in. On portions and boxing, no common sense. I texted the owner on my experience but have not heard yet.Food is good but going through uber eats is probably a better idea

Extremely rude and dismissive service, we placed an online order and went inside to pick it up. Saw it sitting on the other side of the counter but we were ignored for 15 minutes as we were standing at the counter. Meanwhile, 10 other customers came in and were helped, and walked out while we were still waiting. When we finally got our food that was sitting in a bag on the counter for 15 minutes, it was cold. I dont understand the rudeness/dismissiveness, we worked in the service industry and are always super nice to everyone working. Wont be back.

Samosas, chaat, mithai, always fresh and delicious. We come here every other month or so. Staff is always friendly, and place is clean!Gave 4 stars bc they changed the samosa club membership to double price & now giving a card with your picture on it. That card cannot be used by my husband, or anyone else in my household with the same address except for me. Thats just inconvenient as Im not always the one picking up an order.

Multilingual staff, friendly, wonderfully courteous in the Indian tradition; busy but well organized for quick service, we had lunch..vegetarian entrees and two chicken dishes..all excellent. Also purchased homemade yoghurt, kefir, samosas, and breads..The owner was present and took time to meet us..Dining areas inside and outside are a bit light on ambiance and not spacious but overall we gave it 5 stars.

Quality of items have reduced but prices are marked way up higher than before. Tables and chairs leather are torn . Why are piles of boxes /cartons put inside the decorum! Near the baby high chairs, there are 2 huge glass panes standing right there. Such a big safety hazard.Bathroom also so small. Almost occupied again with big cartons. Why dont they maintain aesthetics !! Why doesnt Safety inspection department look into this cafe!Without even asking with customer, staff packs food for take out! How careless!

I never try this place before, first time tried, but had very bad experience, excessive rudeness and attitude particularly the cashier guy... but the rest of the team is good...the cashier guy is very bad,, the same attitude he is showing to the employees too, not a good place...

Indian fast food place for a quick bite. Not very fancy place but food is good and thats why we visit.Walls have painting and photos of Bollywood film stars.Indian thaali is good portion and offers lots of options.This shop/restaurant also has Indian sweets and curries/dishes for sKe by weight.

I guess the food is ok?? We got 5 platters a few days ago when we had some friends over and wanted a quick bite. The price was ok and it tasted alright but the woman working there was extremely rude. I also expected more bread, like other Indian restaurants. Really not the best. If the customer service was better I would add another star but she really was rude and made it clear we were not welcome there.

Loved their samosa and papri chaat. They have good masala tea but price is pretty high.

Worst service ever! Some of the employees are extremely rude. I saw supervisor yelling at the employee. Gave me wrong order and then was showing me attitude like it’s my fault and snatched the bag from my hand. I waited over 20 mins for my order and still got it cold.

Indian restaurant offering real Indian taste. Like a Dhaba style, self service, authentic food, freshly made sweets are available all year long and very extensive variety on festivals, sweet boxes are available also, freshly made food and tandoori naan are delicious. They have a samosa club to get discounted price. Less expensive and tasty food.

Bombay cafe is a great place for indian food and sweets , I cant count how many times i have visited their place ... apart from regular indian mouthwatering snacks the best part i like is their panda express style 2 items 3 items dishes ... i always imagined this kind of an indian version all the time when i had foods in panda express in malls etc and I really think now that Bombay Cafe is a success .. try it yourself (ask for an extra Tandoori roti in place of rice :P )

Avoid the ready-to-go packed food. No expiry dates on the boxes. How do they know when to throw stale boxes? Two of us got violently sick within 30 minutes of eating tiny amounts of pavbhaji bought from their fridge only 30 minutes before consumption. The pavbhaji tasted funny, so each of us stopped after 2 spoonfuls. But damage was done. Very dangerous.We like many of their dishes, Patiala chicken, Samoas, Chaat, and catered food However, we now have second thoughts after this recent experience. Scared.

This is the best Indian food around and their prices are very reasonable!! I love their dessert section!

Decent food, bad service! Overpriced…

In love with their sweets with authentic north indian flavor. Also, huge variety in sweets. Very hard to find anywhere else. All of them taste nice but my favorites are besan barfi, gulab jamun, motichoor laddu, pink coconut khoya barfi and chum chum. I wish they start making malpua and rabri. Can’t find it anywhere in Va area.

Butter chicken and egg plants. I drove all the way from DC just to satisfy my cravings for both. Not even fancy Indian restaurants in DC can match their butter chicken.

Great place for a lunch munch or take out. I had the Thaali and Dahi Puri! They also have Limca, my fav soda from Panjab.

Just picked up naan so disappointed the are undercooked so doughy. Not going there again.

This place is a delight!! If you happen to be here, having the samosa is a must. They have the best of it in the area.All the food items are delicious and this is my go-to place for any party orders. The portions are good as well.This place also has limited seating capacity. Th decor is nice, but for some reason I do not find it to be as good as a proper restaurant. But we do hang out there sometimes and the platter is great. We order two platters and the quantity is sufficient for our family of three.Enjoy the food, and the service!!

I love coming to this place even after knowing the fact that they are increasing their prices exponentially. Their samosas are famous and yummy. The freezer section has some amazing deals and are tasty too. They used to give nice basmati rice earlier and have now changed to jasmine rice or some other brand I guess. I miss those long grains 😁.

Good food. I got the platter of rice and nan with two sides - curry chicken and spinach. Everything tasted good and the curry and spinach was spicy. The nan had a good flavor. My only small quibble is I prefer my rice more moist.

Worst Indian food ever I had in my life ... leftover food was warmed up and serviced.when you ask the server Indian lady about it ... she says go call the owner and he is not here... do not spent a dollar in this restaurant... I spent over $85 ate nothing and trashed it. Do not waste your money and time here. Great place to get some good affordable Indian food. They have a platter special for 10$ two meats, rice and a Naan. My favorite is butter chicken it taste soo good.

Delicious curries, keema, baingan and biryani, mango lassi. They are open every day 11:30am-11pm (**this appears to have changed to 10pm...and my first visit, they were open until 1am, so you should call first if youll be late to confirm their hours). They have about 6 vegetarian choices and 4 non-vegetarian. And a great platter deal where you choose 2 or 3 entrees with rice and dessert. Been there twice and will definitely keep going back!! Both times appeared to be popular spot, but line moved fast. **Ive been 2 more times now, and equally delicious and good variety of entrees...super friendly. They are on an alternate route between me in NC and my mom in PA, and I occasionally choose to go.the longer way just so I can stop there.

Awesome Samosas and parathas

Over the years, the quality of the food has gone down as surely as the rudeness and arrogance of the management has gone up.

We have liked their menu for over a decade. Now, they are too busy to make chaat paprhi for each customer. Its pre-made & kept in a fridge or freezer. Our order was almost frozen cold & the lid wasnt secure. Too bad.

Really great food for really great prices. I am very satisfied every time I eat there! The portions sizes are incredible! Friendly staff as well. When my wife and I want Authentic Indian food, we always get Bombay. Thanks for years of great service!

So happy to have found this place for good Indian food. Our favorite- chicken curry! It was very much close to a homemade curry & chicken was also soft, which we enjoyed. Please keep the recipe same and do not change to making terribly thick curries of tomatoes, cream etc.We ordered samosas, platters and chicken Tandoor. Samosas were nice, chicken Tandoor was soft. Mutter Tofu was mutter tofu- it can’t replace mutter paneer! Paneer korma was good. Kheer was nice and light. Portions were good for all the items compared to the price.Taking out 1 star as the naan and garlic naan were too thick in spite of our request to make them thinner.But overall, we would definitely order again and recommend to friends.

First time eating here was surprised how great there portion are only 10$ can’t beat that deal around here food was fresh definitely would recommend to other friends.

Used to like this place a lot. This time, we picked up a bunch of things, among which was a butter chicken container only to discover it was butter tofu. Tasted good, so less complaints. But that was not the main issue. We also purchased this large chicken tandoori-like platter (& the lady at the register said its the best and affirmed that it was cooked the evening before) only for us to discover later that only the rice portion is ok. The two big chicken pieces clearly werent fresh but edible. However, the daal it came with? TERRIBLE! It had bad smells, looked gross with white fungus like layers on it & tasted as it should be with all that. Clearly rotten old & dangerous food. We threw that out right away. I barely ever give negative reviews like this, but had to make people aware that we all need to check how old the food items are that are being sold there. And to the store, please sell safe food only or else you will lose some loyal customers.

I am re-reviewing because the restaurant fixed the issues from my past review below! There are signs on the doors and right where you come in on where to order or pickup. There are spots marked to stand. Employees are telling people where to stand. It’s great! Alright the food is awesome! My favs of course are the spicy bryani, butter chicken, Keema (it’s spicy), daal or chic peas, samosas and their sweets section! They have a platter price for $10 bucks - where your able to try a lot of their food. This place is really good!Past review below:This place has good food but there is no social distancing here. In line people are right behind you breathing down your neck, no signs to tell the folks to keep 6 ft apart. They aren’t very organized, there are no signs to tell people where to wait so it’s just all these people congregating in the middle of the restaurant. Gonna hold off on going here until they get organized or after COVID.

The samosa is good. There are options of Indian sweets are there but we did not find them appealing . It did not look fresh. Also the main course dishes had decent amount of options.

I cant say its the best tasting in the area, but it is the best value. I love this place. Its the PERFECT spot to get a meal of any size to go quickly. The fresh made desserts are to die for. A weekly visit at minimum.

I got food poisoning from here. Was up vomiting all night! I will never ever eat here ever again. I love butter chicken but this place obviously didn’t prepare it right or has sanitary issues. I just know I got very sick after eating here.

The quality of food is detoriating over time.

One of the best Punjabi/Indian cuisine restaurants in Northern Virginia. Decor and ambience is very very casual; but the food covers up for the lack of ambience. Low price, sumptuous food and convenient location. If you order a food platter you get a service of free lentils (daal) also. Samosas are fresh, bread is baked at the time of the order, all curries are made daily as well. A feast at a frugal price.

Employees don’t know how to use their POS system or follow tickets. If the order is missed and not filled, they refuse to issue a refund and will instruct you to contact your card company. Between the increased prices and consistently declining quality of service, I would not recommend this restaurant. Don’t spend your hard earned money here, it’s an enormous waste of time and money.Edit: There was no manager who issued a refund that evening. After placing an order, coming to pick it up, and being ignored for over 30 minutes, I was informed that the food would not be made and that I can cancel my order. An employee was then unable to issue a refund and advised me to contact my card company.

They taste so good

This restaurant I always give 2nd chance but regret, charged me $10 for 7 pieces of Pakoray and charged me extra for chutney. The quality of food is theu use old oil to to fry the pakoray the pakora was high in salt and full of oil and smell of old oli... if I complain them they seem to listen but dont care.. never going back, worst restaurant.
