I let with Hometrust for 2 years while studying at Exeter. We had a few issues throughout the year and they were very quick to provide help and support. I would especially like to extend my thanks to Aly, who regularly went above and beyond to help us out. My one major regret regards the return of the deposit at the end of my final tenancy with them. We were initially charged a lot of money for minimal cleaning work, however after dealing some back and forth came to a slightly more reasonable agreement. Regardless, I have given them a five star review as they were so hands on and wonderful until this point, just make sure you leave your house spotless when you move out. We lived at a property managed by Hometrust for 5+ years. They were always quick to respond to problems, helpful and accommodating of requests. Repairs were always timely and questions answered quickly. Even more then that, when the building, the street and the landlord started having water problems (old properties, interconnected ancient water pipes, complex subleasing) and we needed to move out, they went above and beyond to get us moved out to a great new place as quickly and easily as possible. Aly in particular was fantastic, and fought to get us back every penny of our deposit.It was great to find a place that cared about tenants, as too often estate agents more or less ignore the rental side of the market, leaving tenants at the mercy of landlords. Great to have a housing agent who had our back when things got tricky!

We gave extremely short notice but they managed to fit us in perfectly for a viewing. Aly, the manager of Hometrust, was exceptionally friendly and professional. Knew the area perfectly and clearly had a very high standard for the properties she looked after. She even gave me some great tips and things to keep in mind when looking at rented property. Couldnt have asked for a better viewing.

Very helpful and quick with everything. The flat was completely redone before I moved in (walls painted, tiles/flooring changed), even small things were replaced like the washing machine (which only had some damaged paint) by a brand new fancy one. Lovely friendly staff and quick to accommodate to your personal needs. They really do go the extra mile.

I recently let a property through Hometrust in Exeter and it has been such a stress free process. I spoke to a few people when viewing the house and making the decision and they were all so polite and professional. I dealt with Hannah who was brilliant. She kept me up to date with everything going on with the let and her professionalism really put me at ease throughout the whole process.

I have just secured my first student property through these guys. All the staff are really friendly and Hannah really put us at ease with the process. All sorted before Christmas! Tom

My housemates and I would recommend Hometrust to anyone. As students, it was the first time we had rented a property and the team at Hometrust made it a very easy process for us. We had fast and efficient service from all of the staff, and they were always at the end of the phone if we needed their help (and they still are even though our tenancy is over!). We are very thankful and had a great year in our house - the fantastic service we received from Hometrust was definitely a huge part of it. A special thanks to Tracy :)

Really friendly staff. Aly and Hannah showed us loads of student houses by the hospital as we couldn’t decide which one was better! In the end we chose our student property and have fallen in love with it!The paperwork and sign up was really easy and it is all done so we can go home for Christmas without worrying!Can’t wait for September now! The worst student housing and customer service I have ever experienced in my life. The house was a cheaper rent than most but that definitely reflected in the cheap, half-measured service with it. Agents had poor communication skills, most of them were extremely unhelpful, rude and had no concept of a quick response or doing a thorough job. Had to continually chase them up about the many problems with the house. By the end of the tenancy there were a handful of repairs made to the house but progress was extremely slow and I always felt I was fighting a losing battle with them. If you want a nicer student experience stick with a bigger, better letting agents like Cardens because you will not feel at home and you certainly wont trust Hometrust either.

Be very wary, particularly students. When I was a student at Exeter University, they took a huge lump sum from our deposit each when we left despite having no issues with the house. They are terrible at fixing/replacing problems and leave them to cause further issues/injury. Our washing machine leaked for 3 months before they sent someone to fix it which caused a few injured to myself and others living in the house from slipping on the water that had leaked. Do not go with Homestrust if you can avoid it. Not worth the hassle or money loss. Terrible, terrible and terrible. Wouldn’t even give one star.

Very poor understanding of the rental market, a property that has been on for months and not moving in this market is too highly priced. What do Hometrust do for a property (that needs drastic renovation!) that has been at £750pcm for the 9 months? Why increase the price to £775.Don’t go near these people, they clearly have no clue.

Completed unorganised, didnt respond to our requests. Not the service I would want from an estate agent. Would not recommend.

After deciding to stop advertising my rental property with this agent I requested them to post my keys to my home address. Were received eventually in an everyday flimsy envelope with a rip at the top - obviously the key had fallen out ! Rang agents left a message - did not call me to apologise or to try to sort problem - like offer to pay for a replacement - OR OFFER AN APOLOGY for not sending it in a jiffy bag signed for !!! Just heard - a lady in the backgroud saying dont know what she wants us to do about it !! How very unprofessional ! I would not recommend - no way

Left me high and dry! Spoke to an agent earlier in the week who promised to set me up a viewing Saturday at midday. No confirmation email/text was sent out as promised. I arrived and waited until twenty past and nobody arrived or tried to contact me. Rang the office to find it was closed! Totally unprofessional and a waste of valuable time.

Ive had a good experience dealing with Hometrust over the past 4.5 years as a tenant - Hannah and Aly have been lovely to deal with and the out of hours response on Facebook has been really efficient. Would recommend!

My partner and I rented from this agency about two years ago. The boiler broke down during winter and they didnt repair it for around a month (they did send people out during this time to confirm that it wasnt working). This resulted in a large amount of mold and damp in the property (we lost a lot of possessions to this) despite us using plug in heaters etc. As a result of this the floor in one of the rooms buckled (it was a very small property). When we left they refused to pay us back any of our deposit due to the damage in the property. I tried to challenge this and they still refused to return any of our deposit back. I wrote a negative review of them online and as a result they refused to write a reference, which made it extremely hard to rent again.I want nothing to do with this agency but I am writing this review in the hope that it prevents somebody without much money or a student from renting from them. We were really miserable that winter because of the cold, we really couldnt afford to lose that much money and finding a property without a reference from your last agency/landlord is extremely difficult.

They are lazy, unorganised and seem to have no idea what theyre doing. Once they have your money they couldnt care less about problems with the house. We have a shared student house which is a shame as the house itself is lovely but they are ruining the experience for us. They dont answer the phone, dont answer emails and they simply do not care if theyre late and dont turn up for house inspections so dont bother staying in. Im going to contact the people who actually own the house and advise them of the problems we are having im sure theyll be much more helpful. They lost their master keys and blamed one of our flatmates, they make appointments then are confused as to why you are there as they havent recorded that you were coming in for an appointment. TERRIBLE.

Absolutely awful customer service, they tried to scam us and make us pay for ridiculous cleaning fees when we left the house, and it was cleaner than when we rented it! Also just trully horrible customer service, turning up unannounced or hours late for arranged checks

Very incompitant as a letting agentcy, let propertys that arent electrical or gas certified. they advertise propertys as fully refurbed when there not they are in fact riddled with fleas continously pester you strongly not recommend
