They keep calling me to schedule new appointments when I canceled my service months ago in getting calls everyday while I’m working and it’s obnoxious I suggest don’t sign on to this company. They add ridiculously high fees for things like instillation or just a new box and they will not leave me alone

Suddenlink overcharged me because they failed to change my service correctly. They are incompetent and rude. I have called many times and they fail to fix the problem. I have had two service calls to my house and they still havent fixed the problem. They charged me $758 for one month when it should of been $178. Beware of them overcharging you and giving you no help. I will be taking them to Court.

If there was a zero, that is what I would rate them. Suddenlink operates in some regions of 21 states. If you go to Law360.com, you will see we are not alone in receiving deplorable service. Also because they are the only cable ISP, you are at their mercy, unless you use satellite service for your internet service provider, (for the regions they operate).

I recently noticed that I was getting a billing statement in an old email address I use once in awhile, even though I cancelled the service about 4 months ago. I called and was wanting to know why, and they said it is because I haven’t returned the phone modem equipment (old outdated)so I will continue getting automatic billing statements until it’s returned. First of all I was never notified by Suddenlink how and where to return The old outdated equipment. I was wanting to go by the local Suddenlink office just in case they wanted it back but I was very busy working seven days a week and long hours. My wife’s English is hard to understand for some since it’s not her first language and she would have a hard time communicating with them if she were to go. So this is becoming a nuisance over a small issue. So I’m gonna have to go down to the office on my time and speak to somebody there to figure out how to return this $10 dinosaur equipment that they would not come and get. I checked with my bank and fortunately they haven’t been charging my account. I had a feeling that when I upgraded my services with some other company who has a more affordable better service, that this phone modem was going to be an issue. Its Suddenlink, right.

This companies customer service is the worst I’ve ever had with any company. If I could give them negative stars I would. We moved from the Eureka, CA area and my husband called 2 day before the end of the month to schedule a disconnect and was told no he would need to call back after the 1st to disconnect. So with moving being hectic he called back on the 2nd and was told by a very rude customer service rep that they would disconnect service but we would be charged for another full month if service since the new billing cycle had started which the 1st if the start.I ask to talk to a supervisor and was told none were in or available this was at 4 PM but consequently they don’t close until 8 PM. So I hung up and called the number again and go another rude customer service that told me the same thing. And even went so far as to say she was glad we were not customers any longer. So beware this company are ripping people off.And in conclusion the whole time we had the service we never got anywhere close to the speed we paid for every month. And lost signal on a regular basis. So beware and go with a different provider.

I called to discuss a charge on my bill when the tech. Lied about his report I have mine from the same day and no where during that day did it even exceed 50 mps but on his report he claimed 100 mps. Which is a lie. So I called and was getting help then I wasnt and I felt I wasnt being taken care of I asked for a supervisor. Which then she asked why I told her I wasnt getting the help I was asking for and she refused to let me speak to one when they were being called out on a lie from their technician. I would rate a zero for this call only reason im leaving a 1 is so it can post i have photo doc. About the visit and they wouldnt even let me email them the records when she clearly stated in the beginning of the call they are having trouble with tech.WISH THIER WAS ANOTHER INTERNET PROVIDER IN HUMBOLDT COUNTY

Had router issues where it would reboot itself multiple times a day. Called for a technician twice and both times they said it was nothing wrong. and this problem continued till I had to message a friend who has a degree in network engineering and he fixed it for me. The customer support was not very nice seemed passive aggressive. They seemed very annoyed when I asked questions.

Worst company ever. Weve been waiting 6 MONTHS for them to fix our internet. 4 months it kept going out and the last 2 months absolutely none. I called today to completely cancel our internet service since we cant use it and spent 40 minutes on the phone all to get hung up on. Im so completely over this company!!!

Doesnt even deserve one star at this point. I moved and instead of just updating my account they create a whole new account that needs new log in information but doesnt notify me. So I continue to pay my bill on my other account and there isnt anything they will do about it. Worst company Ive ever had to deal with. Jacked up rates for service that never works.

I would have changed years ago if there was another option in my area but they have a monopoly in this area and I have no choice but to use their service. Ive never really had a problem with the internet. The problem is when you have to call to get anything changed or fixed. They are very difficult to talk to on the phone and will put you on hold forever. We called about a downed phone line in our driveway and they said they could come in 4 days...

If I could give Suddenlink 0 stars I would. The prices are astronomical and they have so many hidden fees that they never mention till you see you have a $15 charge for a sports package you don’t even get. I wouldn’t be inclined to complain about the price IF the customer service made up for it. Sadly the customer service is what makes me want to give 0 stars. Every call center is outsourced and they are very sexist. They also hang up on you the second you complain or asked to be transferred. Not to mention the entire time I had cable with them (about 6 months) I didn’t get some of the channels I paid extra for. My shows hardly ever recorded. There is next to no on demand programs. And, calling every 4 days to call to reset my cable box is not very fun. When I asked for some form of compensation they laughed and told me to get another cable company. Which is exactly what I did.

Plus you have to call to get any help and you are lucky if you can speak to someone. Need a new cable company in our area! Calling AT&T to see what they offer, probably way better customer service.

According to the technician who came to my house I have been getting overcharged for slow internet for years. I have been trying to upgrade to a faster speed for months. The technician came to my house and recommended I purchase a new faster modem to have them install since I would save money in the long run instead of renting theirs. Bought the new modem and had to reschedule install by the tech, waited weeks. The technician came and installed modem but speed was the same. He said to wait one day because Suddenlink had to increase the speed on there end. After the change was made my bill would supposedly decrease. Weeks later now and speed is still the same. Bill is also still the same. I just spent 45 minutes on hold trying to talk to someone only to have it ring once and then nobody there. So frustrating. Impossible to get them to make it right. I would change to another service provider but they are the only game in town for cable internet. Internet service should fall under the category of utility and be regulated by the government. It is an essential service for most people these days and this company is not competent in providing the service.

I’m moving out of my apartment, and the new tenant scheduled suddenlink to initiate their new service. Suddenlink cancelled my service two weeks before my move out date, and they will not turn my internet service back on. Additionally, Suddenlink is a PITA every time I call them. The service was good when I went in there today 04/19/2. Fast and effective and all the covid laws were in place temperature checks and hand sanitizer plus social distancing. I would give them a five-star but the price for just internet is way too high. I was paying $86 a month for just internet for the 1 GB speed. Lower the price at least 20 bucks

Overpriced, probably due to being the ONLY cable option available. Prices raise often. Installation crews didnt have appropriate knowledge which cost me $100 extra installing a ground rod which they then informed me they DIDNT need to use AND were an hour late to my THIRD internet installation appointment. I wasnt home anymore so an unauthorized person present said they should install in the garage UNDERNEATH my house which cant be locked forcing me to move equipment INSIDE my house myself causing another issue with the cable having to be replaced, AGAIN at extra cost of $25 for a long enough cable to reach upstairs inside! NO HELP OR CREDIT GIVEN FOR THIS WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO EXPLAIN TO CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I thought Comcast customer service was bad. Oh man I didnt know a company could go soooo much lower.Ive been trying to give what ever money it costs to get internet service at my home, which has been established by their tech team is possible but may be costly. FINE! I will pay it! However, after being told to wait one week for a response I received no response. I walk back in and am told again to wait a week. Again, no response. One more time and once again... no response. My livelihood is based on being able to work remote and unfortunately Suddenlink is the only option in my area. I now have to go work at a coffee shop every single day due to the lack of professionalism, customer service, and overall empathy of this company.

If I had any other option for service up here, I would take it. Not only are they incredibly unreliable, they are immensely rude every time I have to speak to someone over the phone. They have a stranglehold on the market and they know it. I agree with one of the previous reviewers, if I could give them zero stars, I would. I would also like to tell you to avoid them, but being in Humboldt are options our limited.07/02/21 Update: My feelings about this company have actually gotten worse. As some other reviews have said, all of the sudden they started charging me an extra $20. Ive tried looking online for an explanation, but there isnt one. I would try to call about it, but why would I waste my time when Ill just get nowhere? Broken promises and price increases for what? My service hasnt changed! Why did it suddenly get more expensive? Utterly terrible. My wifi restarts every 10-15 minutes and I have to unplug the router and plug it back in every time I need to use internet on my laptop. As much as I love fighting hidden fees, and getting phone calls repeatedly at 6:30 in the morning (no matter how many times I tell them to stop calling me) to sell TV packages I dont need, Im going to have to give them 1 star, and if I could give them lower, I would.They really seem to love taking advantage of older people, and when I did try to set up a land line with them, they cancelled three times without telling me. I work nightshift, so I had to go out of my way to be awake to get the service set up, so I was absolutely not happy when they cancelled with no notice. All three times, I was told that they had spoken to me (I think that I would have remembered that conversation), and that I had rescheduled.After the third time, I said that I was starting to actually get offended by this service, and she said, that they went by their schedule, not mine, and that if I didnt answer, then I would be billed for the time, but that they were under no obligation to actually show up. She then told me that I would get phone service when it was convenient for them, not for me, and if I didnt like it, then I could cancel.So I did. I actually had to cancel three times, because she just kept (conveniently) finding an open schedule slot for me closer and closer to that days date every time I demanded that they cancel the appointment.I finally told her that if I saw any suddenlink representative on the property, then they would be trespassing, and I would call the police--THEN she agreed to cancel the service.They are terrible, and if they werent the only option in this area, they would go out of business immediately, I have no doubt.

This is a hard one. Lets just say if you have delayed installation, dont call customer care for help because they just read from a script. Drive to there office in Eureka, talk to someone and you will get immediate help. Fast internet but, the customer service on call (tech support) for online orders is absolute garbage.

Suddenlink raises prices whenever they want without notice even after verbal verification that I would be locked in the price for 2 years... 3 months later price hike $30... i pay for up to 400mbps and only seem to get 50-150( even connected to the local server 20 minutes from my house) straight lies from their tech support about my hardware ( I had Arris verify it is in excellent condition) and more lies about activation of ipv6 protocols... Suddenlink is a monopoly that will do their best to screw all of its customers!

Suddenlink has a monopoly on high speed internet in Humboldt and they take full advantage of the fact by extorting customers through incremental price increases to exceptional levels.They started me at a rate that wasnt advertised as a temporary rate, then spontaneously hiked it up almost 100% after about 14 months. When I called to complain they said they would lower the increase amount, by about 40%, but the other % of the initial increase appeared as a special discount that they are now periodically chipping away at and using to increase the bill.Suddenlink is crooked and greedy, taking advantage of people who need internet more than ever now that we are working at home--I dont mind paying ~$80-/month for such an important utility, but my bill is now $120 (100mbps, no TV) and it looks like it will be $140 before too long.As soon as an alternative high speed internet is available in Humboldt, I am dropping this company so quick!

Today (01/21/21) I have now spent 2 hours and 45 minutes on hold. I attempted the 800# on another line, and my call was disconnected several times. I tried to use on-line chat and its is also NOT available. In addition, I requested several weeks ago that an overpayment of several hundred dollars that was auto deducted out of our checking account in November be looked into and credited. However, I never received a call back nor credit. Regardless of our current situation, this is absolutely unacceptable business practices.

They are god & God aweful. Suddenlink switched my phone number, added a second line and deleted my $5 a month voicemail service along with deleting all my saved messages without notice. It has taken 6 days now of multiple multi-hour conversations with Suddenlink’s over-seas sweatshop customer retention department. It was eventually determined that a technician would need to be sent to inspect my equipment. They young man inspected my phone and claimed Suddenlink doesn’t offer voicemail services while insisting that my phones built in answering machine must be broken or I was using some other service for VM because (for the 10th time) Suddenlink doesn’t offer VM services. He then accessed my bill online and said “see your not being billed for VM, we both know Suddenlink charges you for every service so it would be on you bill”. I explained that is the pre-billing for my upcoming months service. And since Suddenlink changed my phone services my bill would mirror the screwup. I asked to see the bill from December, January or February. He said he didn’t have access followed up by the excuse again it must be my phone that is out of order, not the services provided by Suddenlink. I asked him to show me my defective VM built into my phone. He couldn’t!!! But his inflamed ego topped by his predetermined mission to absolve Suddenlink from any fault whatsoever and to place the blame solely on an elder who was expected to accept being intimidated & bullied into believing it’s their fault. Shame on Suddenlink for treating anyone in such a manner, in particular a disabled elder 2x cancer survivor.

We signed up over 7 years ago and got the cheapest package which, other than a few down times, we were happy with. Then prices began escalating and a few years ago a truck came by and without notice changed our channels giving us a lot of channels we couldnt use and taking a way a few we did use.. We werent happy with that and prices kept moving slowly but surely up. Then our T.V.s stopped working and Sudden Link was no help and claimed no responsibility but after several days the TV was back on. Now they have cut half of the channels we watch without notice or explanation. If my partner wasnt such a strong fan of TV, I would cut this terrible service altogether get my news from major media on the net and watch weekend sports at a bar in town saving enough to pay for the beer, gas and a few dinner dates.

POOR customer service. My online account shows my account is still in service and that I owe $, but when you call they say zero balance and refuse to send you anything in writing. The supervisor told me I would have to go to a store to get it, but they dont have any where I moved to and all he would say is sorry. Every time I call it is a 20 minute wait or longer. I have to call multiple times because right around 20 minutes of waiting for some sort of customer service the call gets dropped. And then I have to call back to start over and jump back in line.I recently increased my Internet service, was told that they would send me out a new modem for the higher speed Internet. It never came. Called them back a week and a half to two weeks later and they told me a technician needs to come out to set up a new modem. They scheduled me for a technician to show up and the technician never came. I called back A week and a half to two weeks later to talk with the supervisor and complain about the service that I received.The person I talk to you was nice but less than helpful. When asking to talk to a supervisor who was “busy“ The person on the phone said to let him try to help solve the situation. 10 minutes of talking about what i has gone through the last month, what I wanted and needed with my internet and waiting for a supervisor and He did not get me a modem in the mail or a technician scheduled. Just wasted my time. through my frustration I talked about wanting to cancel my service with Sudden Link. and just deal with everything through my cell phone carrier because that is better than nothing due to the frustration of the service that they provide. Then he asked me what cell phone carrier I have and And proceeded to try to get me to switch over to their cell phone service. I told him with the service that Has been provided By his company just to get faster Internet at my house what makes him think that I would want to try to get cell phone service through them. I told him I was not interested in cell phone service and just wanted to talk to a supervisor to complain about not getting any service. He then put me on hold to wait for a supervisor and the call dropped.At this point I was so frustrated that I called to cancel my service. I told them why I wanted to cancel which is stated above and then magically they were able to get a technician out the next day and the modem and get me all squared away in 15 minutes. The only thing It took to get that was a month of frustration to be able to talk to someone who could actually help me.Fast forward a week and a half later and I call again for support get put on hold 20 minutes after being on hold call drops.Long wait times and call droppings seem to be a thing for this company.Everything that I went through reminds me of the South Park episode about the cable company.

No big deal set up an appointment to come out to our new home . so we go out to the house and wait for our scheduled appointment which they give you a 4 hour window and they never showed up when we called they said our appointment was on another day .. Not sure how that happed we never called to cancel or change it .. So to make a long story short they did the same thing NOT ONCE BUT THREE TIMES .Now they are telling us they have us scheduled in October .. If I could leave zero stars I would! Sat on hold for an hour, finally connected and halfway through setting up the line dropped. So without even setting up an appointment to have my wifi set up I have a charge to my account. After receiving no call back I then attempted to call again, another hour and ten minutes on hold I’m connected to the Spanish speaking line! Then I was told that “we don’t speak English I’ll send you to the English department”, put on hold again and YOU GUESSED IT call dropped! Now I’m attempting to ?text? With a representative? No response in 20 minutes. Never had a good experience with them. Only reason they’re still in business is because of the monopoly they hold over the area. Awful awful awful. If you can avoid suddenlink avoid it like the PLAGUE.——Update:This sham of a company now MISSED the wifi appointment it took me a week to schedule that I missed class for. They said they would be here between two and five I called at 4 and they said they’ll be there by five and then I called at 5:15 and they said they’ll be there by 6 then I called at 6:05 and they said that they have to reschedule for February 2 or I could call in the morning and they would try to get me in earlier. I called in the morning and they told me February 3rd 😂 I am going to class and doing my class work in the trunk of my car in a Starbucks parking lot and they’re telling me that they are going to reschedule me for TWO WEEKS FROM NOW! DO NOT HAVE service with SUDDENLINK they always change the price bundles without your permission.Also they lied to you, they said the buddles offer good for 12 Months or 6 months but on the 4 months they change the price again to NOT bundles. Save ur headaches and stress and move to different company. This review only for the company it self and online costumers service.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I am a student who needs WiFi to do school, obviously, and Suddenlink appeared to be my only option.Boy, am I sorry I signed up for this deal with the devil.Its expensive, for starters, and if you are working from home like most of us are, you will NEED an unlimited data plan, which is around $70 per month for the plan Ive got, FAR too much. The user interface of their website is abysmal, and its difficult to find where youre supposed to log in (I literally just google suddenlink log in to find it). They werent up front about the data plans for home internet AT ALL, so I had to scramble to change and I dont even want to think about the overage fees theyre probably going to charge me at the end of the month.Secondly, their customer service is miserable. Theyve outsourced it, and the wait times are terrible. The WiFi drops all the time, randomly and without warning, so godspeed to you. If you try to call customer service, have fun with the machine--and if you do get transferred to a person, theyre in a noisy call center and its difficult to understand how theyre trying to help you. If you need a technician to come to your home to help you, good luck with that, itll take at least three days for them to get to you.Ive seen other people say that theyve been raising prices without warning and other shady practices--as Im a relatively new customer, I cant speak to this, but I dont doubt itll happen to me too, eventually. If Ive had all these bad experiences in my first MONTH of being with them, then buddy, BEWARE.DO NOT BUY FROM SUDDENLINK. You WILL regret it.

Suddenlink will try to rip you off. They do shady stuff like change your account from unlimited data to data cap without notice. They remove any record that you had unlimited service and then charge you massively inflated data overage fees. My bill this month is $900. I didnt catch the problem until they had billed three months of overage fees. Now they refuse to remove the charges. Do not sign up for their service you will regret it eventually.

I went to get a printed bill/statement to use as proof of residency for the DMV. After waiting in line for 15-20 minutes with a host of disgruntled customers lamenting the lack of ISP competition and poor service from Suddenlink, I went to ask the woman to change the city listed on my bill that had been ambiguously and incorrectlt changed in the last few months despite being a customer for the last 4 years. The service representative was not only rude but also told me that there is no way for them to change that and there was nothing they or anyone else could do to help me with a seemingly simple task. Very frustrating as always - I would give zero stars if possible. I hate suddenlink and would never pay for their services if they had any worthwhile competition. Overpriced, garbage ISP and connection with terrible customer service to boot.

I had to make 3 phone calls to get my speed downgraded. Ended up canceling due to their unprofessional service agents. Was given incorrect and conflicting information relating to costs on all 3 calls, and the last agent I talked to was so rude and demeaning... no thank you!

They wont talk to me. I have called and called but after an average of 40 minutes on hold they hang up. If you are trying​ to cancel your services good luck, because they will to everything in there corrupt little fingers to not assist you. Now I owe 170 bucks for two months of services that havent even started yet. I have even returned the router and asked to turn it off but they didnt. This is hands down the worst internet company I have ever dealt with.

Sudden link is the DEVIL and the people that work there are the DEVIL minions, I’ve been going back and forth with these incompetent, heartless people since MAY, we are in November every day I call they say a supervisor will call me back, I’ve been to their office four times and to this day They have not resolved my issues, they are not suppose to have even a one star because listen these people have ABSOLUTELY NO care for the customers, they actually argue with me when I call to ask them what is happening with my service! They do this because there is no other service providers in my area, so they are willfully robbing customers.

My wife and I just moved to the area and had a great experience with the technician. Little bit of a hassle with the automated phone service, but the technician Zack #26706 was wonderful. He had to come out three times due to a vegetation overgrowth issue and went above and beyond in getting us connected. Hope everyone is lucky enough to have Zack as their technician

I have had Suddenlink for 5+ years, no major issues. I think a lot of people have problems with the rental equipment, I would avoid rental equipment if you can.

Wait times are long. Plan for a minimum 30 minutes in line. Early mornings are supposed to be best, but I cant verify this. Theyre nicer in person than online, but dont expect them to do you any favors. Around lunch time, expect to queue up for about 50 minutes.

MY ADVICE...KEEP CHAT AGENT ON THE LINE. THE ONLY REAL PEOPLE...They shut off my WiFi for non payment when theyd confused it with a neighbors account. I called no less than 5 numbers. All roads led back to auto pay system. Could give them money, but not get a person.SO, THIS IS HOW I FINALLY GOT HELP...might save someone time. Got a live agent on chat. Told me same thing, call the numbers, theyre the only ones who can restore service. SO I SAID, HOLD PLEASE WHILE I CALL... LEAVING CHAT OPEN. Tried to call, same result. Then, she gave me 2 more numbers to call. I busted her when one was disconnected and the other was literally a little old lady in NY. Then, suuuudennly she coul help me, wifi back on quickly.
