Erode junction is one of big junction in Tamilnadu. All super fast, Sathapthi Express train and local train are stop here. Station is well maintain and clean. Escalator and lift available . Food,cool drinks,tea, coffee and snacks available in anytime.

Station building was painted, entrance floor are fixed with tiles.General ticket counter was m moved on right side of the building with previous reservation counters.Old General ticket counter was updated as information centre.Near Ticket counter, Information centre and Subway passage were enclosed with sheets for better ambiance and lighting.CCTV cameras are to be placed in few days(as to the update) as on date general tickets are not issued.

Vast area .it is good. Hotels are there. Restroom is available. Frequent bus facilities. For physically challenged, I doubt everything available is accessible.

Neatly maintained place and food, snacks, beverages and water bottles are available at any time. Information announcement and display board are accurate and helpful for passengers.

Such an important place should have even more good facilities for visitors. Display board is kept at the entrance. Area is very small and congested. Unreserved travellers throng the place in full. No coach position display, which is very sad and bad for a place like this. Station escalator sometimes works sometimes not working. Very bad. Old people may find it difficult to climb and find coach position. One must make note of platform in the entrance itself. Many halt and go train stops here. It would be better if coach position display is placed, especially for old peoples. Cleanliness must be improved. Tracks and Platforms doesnt look clean enough.

Pretty decent railway station. You have free access to railway WiFi. Washrooms, resting places, snack bars etc. construction was going on in the entrance when I went there.

I have rated this star 5 star not because this is the best station in the world, but by the standards prevailing in Indian Railway stations this is one of the best.Cleanliness in the station both in the station platforms and in the other areas are pretty good. More importantly in the two days I spent at this station (retiring room) , I was able to notice the importance that is placed in terms of cleanliness.The underground walkway connecting various platforms is very clean, much better than Coimbatore and Bangalore stations.While i was walking near a set of toilets in the 3rd platform, surprisingly i did not get any foul smell.Park inside the station complex is well maintained too.Retiring rooms are badly maintainedLet the authorities spend some time in maintaining them as well.5 stars primarily for the importance given by the team to improve the station.

Ive been passing through this station for well over 50 years at least once a year till 2019 on my way to my hometown from.various cities in India where Ive stayed.It is quite a busy junction and serves as a food and water filling station for several long distance trains. It has refreshment stalls, stalls for knick-knacks, ATMs and GRP units.It has four platforms and handles quite a lot of passenger and freight traffic.The station has been an integral part of the Indian Railways since 1862 and is one of the stations on the first electrified track in the country.

One of most cleanest railway stations in South India. Got free WiFi connection. No mobile charging points available. It is huge station. No Van to move elderly passengers. Toilets are clean .

One of the best and decent railway junction in southern railways, good connectivity to Chennai for the South West commuters. Defication in PF#2 is very worst, authority may control by making penalty on those who use toilets in junction, especially in the morning hours. Park maintained at front in recent years is superb, just pleasing.

The ticket counter situated at the ground floor and platforms are at the first floor, it makes difficult to the late comes to grab ticket and get in to the train. The garden out side is maintained well and it’s beautiful.

Even though Erode junction has less number of platforms I.e.. 4 platforms most of the trains stops here. The station is very clean and maintaining well. In platforms we can find many food and snack stalls. Breakfast items idly dosa are good. Drinking water available. What not all the basic amenities for passengers available.

I have spent a very brief period of time in this place. All over, its a useful station connecting some of the important areas around it. Although, there was lack of enough foodstall from me. But its not a complete deal breaker because it is a small town and I understand that. Otherwise the station was pretty clean and they have done some renovation works very recently.

Very good railway station, epic name for railfans that is ed loco shed and with industrial city ,three branch lines coming one is trichy -erode route and coimbatore erode route and chennai erode route ,famous train here is yercaud express erode to chennai to hyderabad and lot of passenger train to trichy etc. Good railway station platform also good nice canteen inside one of the busiest railway station.outside buses available for erode main bus stand .

First of all Erode Junction is very clean and easily accessible. It ranks amoung Top 10 cleanest railway station in India. It is located in heart of south India and connects various train from all states kerala, karnataka and from south india. Erode is only Junction in Sothern Railways where you can find both Electric and diesel loco sheds. Working with over capacity and good service. Most of the Long haul trains from kerala and south india gets Engine changed here. Water filling for train is also main feature available here and almost all trains travelling from South to North India via Erode junction gets water from our station. Under smart city scheme, Erode junction is revamped with Lift and Escalators for passenger convinence and Google Free wifi is Railwire available is available at good range and speed.

Even railway track at platform has been cleaned.Morning time breakfast is available with dosa, vada, Idly.Did not find a tap written drinking water.Rocky place, rocks has been cut. This is not good. We need to maintain the natural beauty.You will find too many neem trees just after platform finished. Used to hold the station in high esteem. But that changed today.Its a well and happening place for dogs. LOTS OF THEM. A few of them chasing the other etc.etc..The picture I shot shows a bit of love in this Valentines Week. The dogs seem to share some special bond with the guy in the pic.But still, these many dogs, that too ones with bite marks all over their bodies. Doesnt exude confidence in the ground maintenance even a tiny bit.

Parking fee is damn too high. 25 rupees per day for bike and 200 rupees for car. Parking station also not good. Very worst. Display board is not working properly.

One of the well maintained railway stations in India. Gets good connectivity to all the southern cities. One can get easy local transportation once they step right outta the junction. Uber and ola are yet to be there. Use your negotiation skills with the auto drivers as they will charge a bomb usually. Deal with it. One can get accommodation as well including air conditioned ones.

This station though an important Junction with lot of traffic, does not have proper toilet facility, except in a general class waiting room. One constructed pay toilet is always locked. Platform is narrow and all facilities ate concentrated on one end. PF 3 and 4 are pathetic.

But honestly say its really a small junction only to compare Salem junction you know dindugal junction is much bigger than erode junction !!No big restaurant and not even a best coffee is not available here .Railway authorities should consider this . Platform facilities are very bad. Even waiting rooms, toilets, cafetarias, all concentrated at one end. Public toilets are always locked. Distance between AC waiting room and platform is so long that train will depart by the time the passenger reaches his bogie (moreover AC bogies are always at far end near the engine). Train arrival and departure display is at the entrance and people can get lost and stranded in the narrow platforms, since moving from 1 & 2 to 3 &4 is a task in itself.

The Junction has 4 platforms for handling passenger trains. The Junction serves as the hub for water filling facilities, food provision and toilet cleaning to long distance trains. I worked in RAILWAY MAIL SERVICE and as we normally work overnight to deliver mails early next day, we RMS people in ERODE- always wait in platforms to receive mail bags from western KERALA, southern TAMILNADU , eastern districts of TAMILNADU and northern INDIA. So Erode junction is where I spent most of my working hours. As such my experience with ERODE JUNCTION is both work related and journey related.Erode Junction is naturally situated on an elevated terrain. The stand alone ticket reservation counters are at the entrance. Apart from the TICKET RESERVATION COUNTERS , ticket counters issuing tickets for CURRENT JOURNEY to commuters, function downstairs. After purchasing tickets you should walk a distance of say 200 feet of a well laid out subway and climb up the stairs to enter platforms. You must use the first staircase to reach Platform 1 and 2 ,and the second staircase to reach Platforms 3 and 4. Although it depends on the discretion of railway authorities, most probably trains to and from Chennai reach Platform 1 & 2 and Platform 4 is used for trains originating from Erode to Tirunelvely and Coimbatore. Escalators and lifts are there.On entering the platforms you can sit comfortably sight seeing and wait for the arrival of your train. Well laid out chairs are plenty. You can check about the arrival or late running of your train in TOUCH SCREEN KIOSKS placed in vantage points. Railways also announces periodically about the trains arrival through ELECTRONIC DISPLAY BOARDS and through PLASMA TVS.Futhermore as Erode junction serves as a hub for water filling facilities, food provision and toilet cleaning for long running trains , mostly all the trains halt for than 5 minutes at Erode Junction. Book shops(ANGUVILAS and HIGGINBOTHAMS are at Platform 2),restaurants both vegetarian and non vegetarian in all the platforms and retiring rooms in platforms 1&2 are there.It is having 4 platforms apart from a VIP Platform which was used by late Chief Minister M.G.R. when he visited Erode . It is a junction of 12 tracks. It serves as a junction of JOLARPETTAI- SHORANUR LINE and ERODE- TIRUCHY LINE . The station is disabled access Railway junction. An auto stand and a taxi stand function at the entrance. A BUS BAY is also functioning for the convenience of the commuters. You can make use of two paid parking lots for your 2 wheelers.
