Bombay Masala was one of the best restaurants in the Istanbul. What a delicious food, we got there. Everyone enjoyed a lot, real spicy food and the service was amazing by Mohammad Umar Khan. Take care of all requests in details.Owner and staff was very caring. You will never go wrong and will enjoy spicy test.Hope they open more restaurants around other destinations in Turkey.
Location is easy accesseble by metro or by car, an oto park front of the restaurant. Food is delicious, prices are little high but this understandable because of the tourist area. Nan bread not bad and not good, I tried much better. Other food is very good.
The food was really good and the atmosphere was pleasant. We had chicken biryani with two naan and a side dish. One of the naan had a slight problem, but the staff fixed it immediately. Price was good and quality of food was really good. The guy who brought us the food (brown shirt) was really friendly.
Love the place!! Proper Indian/Pakistani cuisine, clean, friendly staff…the biryani was super delicious…love it.
Clean, delicious, and perfect service, also one of the best butter chicken out there.
Authentic indian food, nice atmosphere, welcoming staff, good pricing. Highly recommended!
As an Indian I can say the quality of food is very good. Our food came just minutes after ordering so service also was top notch (it wasnt busy when we came). Overall 5 stars highly recommend. We passed this place many times but didnt notice it, but found it on via search on Google Maps.
👎🤮 They asked us to move to a smaller table though they didn’t have any reservations and other tables were empty. They give you such a tiny portions and rip you off for that. Literally a portion for a cat! this is ridiculous(!!!) You leave hungry, the food is not great anyways. Choose another Indian restaurant, there’s much better out there and not that greedy with much better customer service
Surprisingly good quality indian food but the quantities seemed a bit small for the price
One of the best Indian restaurant. Good service, delicious dishes, normal price. Very quiet and positive place.
After being in Istanbul for almost two weeks, I wanted to eat something different than Turkish food. I was craving Indian food and found this amazing place, the food was delicious and packed with flavours and a lot of spices. The restaurant looks nice and the service was good as well, highly recommend them!
Delicious Indian food. If you are the one looking for authentic Indian food - you found the right place.100% recommended :)
1/5 bad customer service and 2/5 for not having authentic bombay special biryani taste. My friend recommended me to try this restaurant as he was fed up having Turkish kebabs everyday.Ordered 50 lira bombay special chicken biryani and got boneless hard chicken rice with cashews fried onion. Biryani authentic taste was missing, although the taste of rice and presentation was satisfactory. I ordered spicy but nowhere it tasted like spicy. Im giving 1 star just because it is not having authentic biryani taste, otherwise if i rated that rice without considering it biryani, then its 4/5. customer service 1 star due to lack of interest in getting feedback from customer. They didnt ask me how did i like their food, and when a person came to take out empty plates, he just said utha lon ,like seriously? are you kidding me? this restaurant is opened in main sultanahmet area and customer should be treated equally. please educate your staff as well.
Best Indian / Pakistani restaurant in Turkey. We went with big Pakistani community Soul Sister Turkey group on weekend and we order variety of food, every food has authentic taste. Best chai. Spices were accurate in Briyani. Although we were around 50 people but their service was really fast and efficient. I would be visiting them again and again. Thank you Bombay Masala team for your hospitality. Highly recommended
This place is by far the best Indian restaurant in Istanbul. I went once and came back the next day because it was that good😭. There deserts are amazing I don’t remember the name but it was this orange looking thing at the back of the menu. This restaurant is a must if you in Istanbul.
Nice food cooperative staff and close to all historical places, lot of stuff in menu so can you choose from, I like the mango lassi, very refreshing :-))
The food was amazing! The employees are very kind and are willing to help as well as satisfy your needs :) Definitely worth the visit. One plate is usually enough for two people ;)
The place is nice and quiet and the food is very good and delicious
Food: 5 / Location: 4 / Service: 5A symphony of spices!I had a chicken palak with Naan bread and a Mango Lassie. The Palak was amazing and perfectly balanced of many spices. Medium spicy was the right choice for my western taste. The Mango Lassie was fresh and very delicious. The Restaurant is close to the Gran Bazar in a Food Area. On two floors there are a lot tables and everything is very clean, even the bathroom.Top service and very friendly team.👌
Absolutely amazing food, great selection to. Staff are brilliant. Restaurant is nice and modern, 2 floors. Would 100% recommend if your in the area!!!!
Just ordered from it, 10/10 on every single aspect, the taste, the freshness of the food, they do take quite a bit to deliver the food but for quality like that Im 100% willing to wait, would definitely recommend either going to the restaurant itself or ordering from it, trust me, its worth it.
It was great! I’m glad to have found this restaurant especially being Pakistani and missing Pakistani/ Indian food when coming to foreign countries. Their food was amazing and I would definitely recommend to other family members who come to turkey. I also loved that they delivered, it was convenient for me and my family❤️ Excellent service too!
Amazing desi food. Would definitely reccommend. This place was a pleasant suprise for us on our family trip. We were craving desi food and bombay masala did not dissappoint. Satisfied my elderly mothers craving for sure!We went twice!Lamb achari curry was the best, followed by the bombay biryani. Mango lassi was refreshing also. I would however give the starters a miss, we ordered a mix platter. All food is pre-perpared which means service is fast but not always cooked fresh, which is fine for curries and rice dishes.Overall, would reccommend and will be visiting again. If youre in town do check them out. They have excellent customer service and prices are fair given the location and establishment.
Bombay Masala Turkey is must visited place. Hometown taste with quality food, nice ambiance, and dedicated team when you are in Istanbul. Love to visit here again and again.
I wanted to send my friend who lives in Istanbul an Indian food delivery as a gift. Bombay Masala were incredibly accommodating and helpful at arranging the delivery, even though it required a complex international payment. My friend absolutely loved the food and said it was delicious. I cant wait to visit this restaurant myself when Im next in Istanbul!
I regret to say I was not served well at this restaurant even though the food was amazing.First of all, when I stopped by, the host said it was full. When I looked at the obviously half empty dining hall he reluctantly led me in.So, solo travelers are not welcome apparently. Finally, in my more than hour waiting there, I never got my Masala Chai that I ordered from the outset, and asked several times whether it was going to be served. They made sure to include it in the bill though.Make no mistake, the curries are excellent, but the attitude spoils everything.
Was there ones with my friends from Pakistan. Dishes are tasty. Staff is very friendly. Place is nice and clean, very close to çemberlitas tram station.
Nice place in Istanbul to try indian food, its a restaurant, kind personnel ready to help.
The food was delicious, the waiters respectful and helpful. We enjoyed our dinner here. Most probably it will become our go-to restaurant when we feel like having Indian cuisine.
The food is excellent and it feels like being back in India while in the heart of beautiful stunning Istanbul.
Food is good and delicious... on the other hand, staff is very rude and behave as if customers are having food for free.. Being into hospitality they should treat all customers politely. Instead they have i dont care attitude. 5 star for food, 1 star for staff
Very good food, close to grand bazaar area. Staff were very polite, food was fast and tasty.
Fantastic Indian food. If you are tired of eating turkish food and need a little change and spice up your trip this is the spot! Especially for vegetarian options and healthy portions.
The food was good. However they need to make corrections in their menu @ Garlic Chicken which they insisted “is NOT served” with rice and naan wherein their own menu says “served with basmati rice, naan and salad”. We were in for a rude shocking reaction from the Manager when we demanded what was mentioned on their own menu. The food was good and the staff were well behaved and helping. I am not giving it a 5 star only because of Manager’s rudeness.
I was looking for high-quality Indian restaurants in Istanbul, and I finally found the Bombay Masala Indian Restaurant not far away from Hagia Sophia. Honestly, their food was so tasty. I got butter chicken, with rice and Naan. Everything was well prepared! To anyone who will be near the Hagia Sophia, I highly recommend you trying the restaurant.
Good chicken biryani. The pav bhaji was ground to a paste; perhaps not prepared by an Indian chef. The chhole bhature were nice and so was the pani puri. Definitely ranks as a repeat on my list, even though a few items on the menu were not available.
They deserve a decent & honest review. We ordered 7 days consistently. We were staying in a hotel close by was a bonus. The Aloo paratas & Tarka dall delicious. The Chicken Karahi/Lamb karahi our favourite dishes inc Keema matter. We also liked the Biryani although the rice wasnt top quality e.g basmati. It Would have made a huge difference to the taste & quality. Still no complaints kids enjoyed the samosas. The raita was satisfactory we are used to tomatoes & cucumbers in our raita personal preference. The nan was more than edible especially the garlic nan & we tried the chappatis. Considering its in the centre of Istanbul & spices & masalas may not be readily available as you would expect in say India/Pakistsn/Bangladesh or Bradistan!!! they do a splendid job. Weve tried a few other places in Istanbul & Bombay masala was the best curry house. We come from Bradford the capital of curries in the U.K. & we have spoilt taste e.g Agrah & Mumtaz.. Overall we were pleased with the food & its reasonably priced as some of the other restaurants were over priced not that im going to name them!! & the food wasnt all that. Well done Bombay Masala you get a modest 8/10. Hope you deliver to where we have moved to 1.1km away. 😉😋
Paneer butter masala and dal tadka were good. Lacha paratha was also good
The Food Are Superb. We had Bombay special lamb Biryani Taste was Yummy 🥰
Their portion size of this chain of restaurants is smaller as compared to others! The restaurant is new and clean... the food is missing the zing! I would rate it 3 but they charge money for pickle! Which is ok if it was in the menu or the server told me! I took less than a Tsp as it anyways came in a small bowl! If it was chargeable, I should have been informed and the whole bowl should have been kept there till the end! All in all it’s an ok restaurant but I feel it’s not value for money
Its was amazing food and clean restaurant in Istanbul I recommend if any in Istanbul and amazing staff special sabir very friendly and good person
Price is too high. Just a simple tea is 13 TL and biryani is 50 TL.
Great restaurant. Staff are friendly and helpful. The prices are very reasonable. The food is excellent. Spacious restaurant with a lot of seating. The food always came hot as they used to cook it fresh. Being of Indian heritage, we like to have our food spicy and full of flavour which is sometimes difficult to find in Istanbul. So if that is a dilemma you’re having then I’d definitely recommend this place. We were lucky we found this restaurant because we went a few times and each time we tried different things. The biryani is a must try and also the pani puri. Their curries were also brilliant and full of flavour. 👍🏼👍🏼
Loved their Palak Paneer and Garlic bread! Good service too!
Its an awesome place, it feels like we are celebrating an event at home.the staff was so courteous and quick service.food was delicious and mouth watering biryani specially out of the world. At last masala tea had awesome taste.
Having been in Istanbul since early June and generally pretty fed up of the repetitive local cuisine it was a welcome surprise to find this gem of an Indian restaurant in the heart of Sultanhamet. With my Filipina wife and teenage daughter we tried the appetisers, curry and breads and were not disappointed. The food was authentic, delicious and a great price to match. We will be returning for sure before we eventually head back East. Keep up the good work.
Amazing place, have gone plenty of times with my family, food is delicious and staff is friendly. We usually order chicken madras, roghan josh, and the chicken biryani. I definitely recommend all. For the appetizers, we always order pani puri.
Decent food.. but great customer service
Restaurant is nice, staff and service quite pleasant. Choley Bhaturey was a lil disappointing ...not prepared well...choley not soft , Bhaturey not swelled up ...achari chicken and Butter naan was good, mango lassi very good
Its a interesting place for experiment the indian food, and the food not its bad.
Absolutely Amazing experience tasting their food it was super delicious v friendly environment.......❤️
Food was ok. Waiter was rude, he literally took everything off the table while i was finishing, and after 1 second he brought the bill and stayed in front of me waiting, while i still had to finish my drink (ppl were still eating so there was no hurry), idk what his problem was.
I have been to 3 other Indian restaurants here in Istanbul, in my opinion, this Bombay Masala is the best among them.
The food has authentic Pakistani flavour, loved their mutton Biryani, Malai boti and garlic naan. Staff is very humble.
Butter chicken and vegetable briyani was very good, briyani is too much rice for one person. As a turk I have to say,Much better than all the turkish places that has fake 5 starsBe careful, even the non-spicy food tastes spicy
We tried chicken tikka masala, biryani and flatbreads, they were all delicious.Thank you for your polite stuffs, they were so helpful about our questions. :)
It’s the best Indian restaurant I have ever seen and I have a long experience with Indian food, the cashier was very friendly with me. I hope they do a discount for me next time 😂
Its was a great experience at Bombay masala. Chicken Tikka biryani was yum and specially dhood pati Chai with Pak/Indo songs 😊. Staff was so cooperative .Highly recommend to all Pakistani and Indian communities who come to Turkey, enjoy their yummy yummy food 😉🥰
Food was really good. recommended
Tried Baingan Bhartha it was great! Definitely worth trying. Also tried the garlic chicken, which wasn’t what I expected, I wouldn’t recommend it. Service is good and the restaurant is clean.
Excellent quality food. Just like the home. Very authentic taste which is quite rare. Highly recommended!!!!
Very tasty.. most authentic food in Istanbul ...only need Bombay crush..
Best resturant in Sultan Ahmet area, quick services, clean environment and smiley face staff must try their baryani and kheer
I’ve been missing Indian and Pakistani food ever since I moved to Istanbul. But now that I’ve found Bombay Masala, I came here a few times a month. Best I’ve found in Istanbul! Good atmosphere and flavorful food.
It was amazing food and specially staff very nice and friendly I really enjoyed
Bombay Masala has a VERY GOOD quality of food and Service.👍✨I often order & eat from Bombay when i come to Istanbul. Also this restaurant is located very strategic. Thanks alot Bombay👍
This was the second time at Bombay Masala restaurant in Istanbul after being recommended by Wasim in Gaziantep. I am an Indian food lover and I have tried many Indian restaurants and this is in my top three and certainly number one in Turkey! The Lamb Karai I had today was amazing, the best I have tasted ever, and the sesame Nan bread, Mango Lassi and Biriyani rice were all wonderful. My wife had a chicken with rice and she also loved it. We will come back as often as I can although it’s a bit far from where I live.(The pic is from the previous visit)
A lovely, spacious and very clean Pakistani restaurant not far from the Grand Bazaar.Food 5 🌟 - Amazing vegetarian biryani! It was full of flavor, one of the best I’ve had during my travels. The naan bread was excellent, chicken curry and chicken palak were tasty. All dishes were outstanding. Would go back again.Drinks 5 🌟 - Mango lassi was perfectService 5 🌟 - Excellent service
Food was good, but quantity was a little less for the price.
