One of the unique temples in Goa and extremely famous for its annual fest or Jatra comprising of the dhonds. They are supposed to follow a strict routine for around a month before this festival. The atmosphere there on the Jatra day is overwhelming and the dhonds circle and chant and pray to the goddess. They also run on the fire and it is said that nothing happens to them as they are protected by the goddess . The temple is a old and nicely designed. Renovated few years back, the area in and around is damaged due to mining . A must visit if you want to explore the temples of Goa

This temple is located in Hedode village of Nagargao panchayat. Every year Annual Pooja is performed by devotees. This temple is specially used by Dhond of famous jatra of Shirgao. Here Dhond stays isolated form other people for five days before Shree Lairai Devi jatra. On last day of stay they serve food to devotees who comes there to seek blessing.
