Came to the restaurant and it was pretty dead, but decided to try it anyway. Ordered a few different items. The bruschetta was average, the basil was so old in it that it wasn’t even bright green anymore. Gnocchi had a nice flavour but was crowded with peppers that didn’t add to the flavour profile. Got the chicken Parmesan and the pasta was good but the chicken was bland. Got a nice Indian dish, flavour was good but the rice that came with it tasted like minute rice. This place was overall average. If you’re looking for a simple bite this is the place you want. Service was average, they waiters were texting at the bar when not busy.

Went for a team lunch here today. We had reservations and were seated very quickly. Restaurant is comfortable and roomy. The server was very attentive, and even though he was the only server there, he took very good care of us. A few co-workers had the steak sandwich with Caesar salad and they said it was quite good and cooked as they had asked. One had the Chicken Parmigiana. Two co-workers had burgers. Both burgers looked absolutely delicious and large. The fries looked amazing. Good portion sizes as well.

This restaurant does serve Halal meats which is a huge plus, but also serve alcohol on the premises as well. Just something to be mindful of! Only wish there was more lighting inside as it can be a little hard to read the menu. Overall, great experience.

We went there with a groupon for a 4 course steak dinner. It started with a French onion soup, followed with Bruschetta and select chicken tikka to share and then the entre 12 oz. NY strip loins and finished with Crème brûlée.The French onion soup was really delicious, not too salty, just enough onions, delicious cheese, and of course, the baguette.Next came the chicken tikka and Bruschetta. The word tikka means bits or pieces. And we got 3 of those. The chicken was really tender they literally melt in your mouth. Im not the biggest fan of the Indian cuisine but this was exceptionally good. Then the Bruschetta, this classic Italian appetizer is a perfect way to capture the flavors of garden ripened tomatoes, fresh basil, garlic, and olive oil and some feta cheese... Perfection!Now to the Entré. The 12oz NY strip loins. We asked for a medium steak and we were not disappointed. The cook was right on point. The only thing we did not enjoy too much was the quality of the meat. There was quite a bit of fat at the sides of the steak making it really chewy pretty much unbeatable. So we had to cut it off, which turned it more into an 8oz steak. The steak was not seasoned much but the potatoes were really salty, so it was a good combination.The saving grace of the meal was the creme Brule. The top was nice and crisp with a perfect burn. The creme was cold and smooth and nicely flavored.The service was great and we did not have to wait long for the servers attention. It wasnt busy at all, that might have contributed to the fast service times.Overall, it was a great experience, not perfect, but really good.

My boyfriend and I went there for our second year anniversary. We rarely go for Indian food so this was a new experience. We ordered the Aloo Tikki (without mint sauce) and vegetable samosas to start. These were a couple of the best samosas Ive tasted in the city. For mains we shared the Pan Seared Fish and Laal Maans with Garlic Naan. The pan seared fish was okay (also it only came with one coconut prawn) but we really enjoyed the flavour of the lamb. There was enough to take home leftovers. The waiter was awesome and friendly. Thanks for a great experience!

There is a clean facility and the food was great. The staff were also very kind. The food was brought to the table at a reasonable time but the portions were very small. That is the one of the few negative things about this restaurant that took the review down from a 4 to a 3 star. I added a picture of how small the bowl of Ratia was.

We really enjoyed the food there specially the chili chicken and Naan were very good. There was a special naan item too (forgot the name) which was really delicious. Liked the environment of the restaurant as well. The only disadvantage is since they are located in Downtown its very hard to find a parking, although its not their fault i guess.

Went here for a meal with friends. Great food, decent music, good service. A complete package for a great fine dining experience with family and friends, one of the best ones I found on Jasper avenue and in Edmonton.

I would go there with 4 people because then it would be alot more comfortable. First time forgetting to take pics of the food lol take my word for it I go alot of restaurants to eat and this place I will be coming back to for sure!

Delicious food and nice atmosphere. The quality of the lamb rogan josh and naan bread were top notch. When the food came out, I was already impressed from the size of the naan. The curry had good chunks of tender lamb with the perfect amount of spice.

Came here for the first time on a Groupon deal yesterday in the early evening (a Friday) and was not disappointed. The deal was a 4-course steak dinner for two with wine and everything was delicious! The portions were large and we had to take part of the entree home. There is an extensive Indian cuisine menu that we would like to come back and try. I would recommend Select to anyone looking for a good dinner option Downtown.

Best Indian food I have tried in Edmonton. We went here for supper based on the positive reviews and were blown away by the flavour in the dishes. We got butter chicken, beef vindaloo and garlic naan. My wife likes spicy dishes and asked for the vindaloo extra hot and it came spicy and delicious. My butter chicken was mild but had some of the best flavours I have ever had in one. The naan is not too thick and had the perfect amount of crispiness to it. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for great Indian food downtown, or for that matter, anywhere in Edmonton.

Really happy with the food served at this restaurant. The layout is different from most restaurant layouts. The walls and decor were stunning. My only downfall was the waiter I got kept asking if we were okay at our table and interrupting our conversation. There’s only 3 small groups who came in that snowy night and we didn’t need to be check in on every 5 minutes. Also the website did not advertise the middle eastern cuisine. I did not mind but my guest did.

At the moment you come to this place the waiters give you an enjoyable feeling. Very hospitable team, it is a lovely restaurant to go out with friends and colleagues or with your date. enjoyable meals, specialist chef, honest pay and generous service. Warmly recommended.

What an amazing meal we had tonight! I moved to Edmonton five years ago and we’ve been looking for Indian food that would replace our favourite place in Victoria. For 5 years we’ve been disappointed in our quest. Until tonight. This was the best butter chicken I have had in years. The naan was so good I could eat it everyday. The vegetable jalfrezi was so fresh.Coupled with the attentive service and a lovely ambiance, it was a perfect dining experience. What was so refreshing was being in a restaurant where you could easily hear your dining companion. No loud music to compete with (there was music but it was low and pleasant). Highly recommend.

I shared a fantastic experience with my girlfriend this evening and I wasnt disappointed. We were greeted with nothing but excellent hospitality from our server and the food was absolutely astonishing! The AAA Sirloin w/ Mushrooms was superb and the Chicken Florentine was very delicious. Id highly recommend this restaurant for any date night, youll get nothing but 5 star service!

Have to give 1 star review just to write this. We booked this restaurant for 26th (10 days before the date) and even got a confirmation number.Today when we called they say they closed.We double checked on the website before making booking and yet this happens.Ruined everything.So disappointed. We celebrated my wifes birthday here. It was our first visit and most certainty wont be our last.The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. Service was above and beyond what was expected. Selection was plentiful and the server directed us through an amazing meal/wine choice.The meal portions were ideal and the flavor/taste was amazing.We will be exploring a lot more of this menu and highly recommend a visit.To top it off, they are located right next to a payed parking lot. Very convenient.

Love Select. Perfect lunch time place, with great atmosphere. They make THE best mushroom soup I have ever had. And Ive had a lot of mushroom soup. I always order the Fish Amritsari, which is phenomenal. Incredibly flavourful with the perfect level of spice. Service is wonderful. They accommodated all requests my friend and I had. An example is that the tomato, red pepper soup wasnt a cream soup so they offered to make it a cream soup. And it was delicious.

No complaints. Came here 3 times during my stay in edmonton. The guy serving was great and appreciated the variety of dishes. I will be back.

While I’ve never ordered any of their western menu options, their Indian cuisine is hands down, my favourite in the city. All of their food is made from scratch using high quality ingredients. The service is second to none. I don’t eat in here all that frequently (have probably dined in 3 or 4 times over a couple of years) but the gentleman who typically waits on me always remembers me and is simply amazing at making you feel like a VIP customer, every time. I’d recommend my favourite dish but it’s impossible to choose. I’ve tried a lot of menu items and everything I’ve tasted is outstanding. But if I had to pick I’d go with the Beef Vindaloo.

This place was one of my favorite restaurants in Edmonton! Not only was the food full of flavor but our server couldnt have been more attentive. My girlfriend and I had no idea how to navigate the Indian food section of the menu. Our waiter walked us through and gave outstanding recommendations. Will definitely be back.

So the food that we actually got was amazing, however, every time we actually ordered something they didn’t have it - 6 items in total between our table of 8.

The service was incredible. Our server was very knowledgeable, fun, and took every care to make sure we were happy and comfortable. The food was delicious, Indian-based cuisine. There was a large selection of wines, beers, and coolers. The mood is a little upscale and quiet. Overall a fantastic experience.

My wife and I went for our first anniversary dinner. I spoke with a staff member on the phone a few days ahead of time, he offered recommendations on the menu, remembered who we were and why the day was important to us when we arrived. Dinner was served in a reasonable amount of time, and this was the best lobster dinner weve ever had. It was cooked well, very flavourful and full of cilantro--a plus for me. A medium spice was enough to make the meal very pleasant. Sometimes heat can be hard to gauge in new restaurants (Ive just about melted to death in a Thai/Lao restaurant before..) but theyve got Canadian Spicy down pretty well. If youre into heat be sure to ask for it.We could tell the staff had spent some time in Britain before it was mentioned--Mr Bean was on in the bar. :D This is a really professional environment and Ill be bringing friends back.

I love this restaurant. I had never been there before and I had the best time last night. The food was incredibly good. The service was great. It was a shame it wasnt as busy as it should be on a week night. Their entrance is a little tucked away so its tough to find but its a great restaurant in the middle of downtown.

I booked the table on 23rd Feb for 17th march and got a confirmation email as well. When i called up the restaurant today they said they are closed for renovation. I did not receive any email or call that my booking has been cancelled. And surprisingly you guys dont even bother to call your customers. This is the second time that has happend when we pre booked a table at your restaurant. Pathetic and poor service. Disappointed that you guys leave no stone unturned to ruin our dinner plans. Me and my partner stopped by Select under new local ownership today for lunch. The food was amazing and the service was pretty casual which was what we were expecting.I Never has such good Naan bread in Edmonton and their it added much to the whole experience.they are very passionate about their food and service and this place was immaculate in terms of cleanliness and decor.I will be back 100%. Prices were very reasonable and portions were very well put together.Thank you Select restaurant for such good experience.

We went to Select because my daughter loves their Butter Chicken. We also had the Beef Vindaloo and Shrimp Biryani. It was nice to be able to pick our spice level - I think it really added to our enjoyment. Its also interesting that they have Western items on the menu as well - my daughter started with the French Onion soup, which was really well done. There were lots of other really interesting dishes we didnt get to try; were definitely going back!

Ordered some Biryanis and Fish Amritsari through Skip The Dishes. It was literally the best Indian food Ive had in a long time in Edmonton. Everything was freshly made! Thank you ever so much for that! Theres a lot of Indian restaurants that do not make their food fresh, but not these guys. Both times that I ordered, they were fresh and tasted delicious! Its a little expensive but well worth it. Will definitely be back for more! Thank you!

Toxic small minded restaurant with no regard for their customers. Had a delivery via a third party and their chai cake option which was $7.95. After making the order the restaurant called and told me it wasn’t available so I chose the chocolate cake ($9.95). I get another call 5 minutes later with them telling me I can’t chose the chocolate cake because it was more expensive. I said then charge me more, they said they couldn’t. I said I wanted cake and not something else so they agreed to send me a chocolate cake instead. Delivery time comes and I open the dessert box to see apple crumble ($7.95). I call the restaurant and the same person says “sorry but chocolate cake was more expensive and it’s not our fault but foodora’s, next time you order I’ll add some chocolate cake”. There will be no future order. I don’t eat apple pie/crisp cake. They would rather that I lose $7.95 then have to substitute for something a little more expensive. Never going to order from them after this negative interaction.

Just landed in Edmonton and was looking for lunch. This place is across the road from my hotel so figured Id give it a shot. Holy smokes this was amazing. Great ambiance, very reasonable prices (I ordered from the lunch menu) and absolutely delicious. I got Lamb Rogan Josh, ordered spicy, and it was very spicy but still incredibly flavorful. Portion size was decent for lunch and both the quality and service were top notch.Try. This. Place. You will not be disappointed.

This place was so great. The food was excellent and the service was extremely personable, friendly and prompt. The 3 of us all ordered from the curry menu and Nathan, our server, made sure that I could safely have the meal (I have a dairy allergy), and also gauged our spice-tolerance (Do you mean spicy like for me? Or spicy for you? - mine was very spicy and perfectly so - my Mom & sister had very mild spice and they were happy with it). We had a good bottle of red wine to go along with dinner.Did I mention the food was amazing? They dont pre-make anything, so your meal is fresh and can be modified accordingly. I will be back to work my way through the curry menu!Overall it was a really great, friendly experience and I absolutely recommend it to anyone.

The food was very fresh and did not feel old or microwaved. Great Indian food. If you go here make sure you are not in a rush since the food does take quite a bit of time to come,probably because good food takes a while to make. Also the bill was a bit pricy but otherwise great and great food

Phenomenal food and atmosphere. Service was superb and the meat was the most tender weve ever eaten. The head chef and owner came out to speak to us and then remembered exactly who we the next time we came to visit. We asked how did they get the meat to get this way, and they replied that the meat was tender because it is not pumped. This place is like a party in my mouth.

Palak Paneer with Garlic Naan were very good and we enjoyed them :-) The Lobster Pepper Fry, for the way it was described, was not exactly what we hoped... I realize that lobster can be hard to work with and to prepare as a dish. The flavour was good (and quite spicy for those who are faint of spicy heart), this being said, I have to admit, there wasnt as much lobster meat compared to the sauce that seasoned it.

Went to the restaurant on Saturday, Feb 9th in the evening for a friends birthday party. Had pretty much the worst service ever. When one member of our party said she wanted her spice level “hot”, our waiter said under his breath “Just...Like...You”, and I caught him staring at her multiple times during dinner which is completely inappropriate & unprofessional.I was the first to arrive and the waiter couldn’t find our reservation, then he was incredibly slow with everything though there was maybe three tables in the restaurant, didn’t fill our water until the end of our meal.The only redeeming factor was there was an additional waiter (perhaps manager or supervisor for the night) who was very kind (and not creepy!) when packing up our meals.food was good, the naan was incredible.really unfortunate that creepy waiter ruined the experience completely and i will not be back due to that.

Terrible meal. We ordered from the DDW menu. The chicken on the parmigiana was burnt. My friend complained about it, and they replaced the chicken ONLY. So she had to eat her cold pasta with the supposedly freshly cooked chicken. I dont understand how it took them an hour to serve the 2nd course when it only took them 5 minutes to replace the chicken. There were only 5 tables that were occupied! The place was not busy at all. The steak my other friend ordered was served medium well when she ordered medium. The waiter served our plates from across the table when he should have walked around and served it from behind us. Bad food, bad service. Will definitely not come back.

To top it off our waiter was really lacking in the service etiquette department. While the service wasnt exceptionally slow he would just somehow seem to disappear at odd times. Like come to pour water asked if we looked at the drink menu but then just leave without taking our drink order. (We had loiked at the drink menu) Or dropping of butter knives at the table, leaving us with no bread or forks and saying nothing

I was lucky enough to stumble on this little gem of a restaurant almost litteraly as it was right behind the hotel I was staying get at. The owner and staff are very inviting and friendly. A nicely varied menu with Indian, Italian and Western dishes. Ive now tasted a few dishes and could taste the freshness of the ingredients. They are very accommodating any fast with service of food and drinks. A must try!!!!!

This is INDIAN restaurant, its not Canadian restaurant. Food have odor smell, grill Rib very bad. Drinks not much. Service really slow. And finally, This is NOT REAL CANADIAN FOOD taste SELLING in this restaurant, EXACTLY FOOD IN HERE LIKE MIDDLE EAST AND INDIAN FOODS. We tried the Lobster Pepper Fry to share and also the Palak Paneer with Garlic Naan. The Palak Paneer with Garlic Naan were very good and we enjoyed them :-) The Lobster Pepper Fry, for the way it was described, was not exactly what we hoped... I realize that lobster can be hard to work with and to prepare as a dish.

Amazing service, I would totally recommend this place to anyone. Me and my boyfriend bought a Groupon for Select a few months ago and they recently got new owners, not only did they honor the Groupon, Im vegetarian also and they went above and beyond to accommodate that for me. Our meals were AMAZING so much flavor and perfect portion size. I will definitely be coming back again, finding quality service with quality food is hard to find and I am so happy Ive found such a GREAT place.

Granted my visit was not recent but Ive never been so disappointed.Ive gone a few times and at first it was quite enjoyable; however, I dont know if there was a change in staff/management but Ive noticed that the staff was hostilely pretentious and the food quality and presentation went down hill.Because of those reasons, I have not been back.

Cosy little restaurant. Ordered the lamb rogan - it arrived with a mammoth naan larger than the plate and a comparatively tiny salad cone. Nice heat, flavour, and big chunks of lamb. Naan was also great, fresh and chewy and a fantastic way to mop up all of the sauce.

Amazing food and staff, understaffed however. Waited 30 minutes to have water given to us. Almost walked out. But I do still reccomend.

I have tried almost all Indian restaurant in Edmonton trying to look for that authentic Indian taste and at last I have found it! I cant pick a favourite dish because everything was amazing, from appetizers to main course to the gajar halwa for dessert, everything was incredible! It is an amazing restaurant with the best serving staff and quick service and it is everything you need to feel like you are back in India eating the authentic Indian cuisines! Thank you Select! The restaurant seems to be under new ownership and so an Euro-style menu I had known before is now an East Indian flare. Was here recently for a work lunch and I ordered two appetizers as my meal: tandoori shrimp and fish amritsari. Also shared some garlic naan. The shrimp was flavourful but lukewarm and the fish was tilapia -- although at $10 for the latter, not a shock given the low price. The naan is not bad but I ended up not eating a couple of slices as they were past burnt (black). The service was slow (nearly 40 minutes to get our food) and I had to ask for a coffee refill each time. Probably not coming back.

We tried calamari, prawns, fish amritsari ( excellent!!) butter chicken (great, great sauce..but not to many chicken pieces) panner makhani (very good) with garlic and coconut naan (this was great!) First time we were there. We will come back certainly. Must say the food and ambience of this place was pretty good . I ordered dal makhni and naan that was amazingly prepared and served. Its good food restraunt in downtown and i think its one of its kind😊

Select have an great Menu which includes East Indian Specialties. We had the Select Salad, Shrimp Primavera, Laal Maans Lamb and Garlic Naan bread. They were all great. Service was excellant, they will adjust the spice/seasoning to your taste.Great dining.

It was ok. Good for Indian food.

Good food, bit pricey but is downtown. Nice patio area unfortunately wasnt open the day we were there although was nice out.
