South Indian food is my new favourite style or a Indian food, even though Ive been coming back here for a lot of years now. The food is always so good and such a nice change from the buffets. Sometimes they have awesome deals, but regardless, its always worth the half hour drive for me to get here.

Just ordered a takeout of butter chicken and rice! Talked to the owner for a bit and seemed professional and proud of his business. When I got home and sat down to eat, It was amazing! Very good butter chicken and rice, had the perfect amount of spices and tasted very fresh. 5/5!

Authentic South Indian Cuisine. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The food is so delicious. Has a Keralite touch to it. The cutlets were so tasty. The banana fritters were out of this world. Felt at home with every bite. Recommended for all those who miss homey food!!!

The best onam sadhya ever had from a restaurant, also their kerala chicken biryani is the best in Edmonton and much much more better than many other so called authentic South Indian restaurants.

I havent had the pleasure of dining in but Ive enjoyed many take out meals. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Even my partner who is not generally a fan of Indian food loves Masalaz! Our typical orders are a combination of the any of following: lamb or goat masala curry, butter chicken, beef olathiyatheu (or beef fry since I had trouble pronouncing the name), rice pilaf and/or paratha.

As always my fav go to place for best food with low price. Always gets their special and shares with my friend. Even they are their fans.

Best buffet for sure!! Everything you could order from the menu were included in the buffet at such a reasonable price!! Taste was authentic and delicious!!

Just the most remarkable hole in the wall for takeaway including authentic Dosa! I also loved the fish pakora and veg biryani absolutely yummy! Food it has its own unique vibe and flavors. Place is not fancy. Dine in or takeaway. Please please stay in business dont succumb to economics ... your recipes and spices are so good!

Best Indian food in town

Ordered goat biryani, portion was really small and the rice was burnt from one side. Please be careful while going there, 2nd time disappointment. The 1st time ordered over the phone and had to wait for another 30-35 mins after the given time.

One of best places to get authentic kerala style mutton biriyani without the gamey flavor of goat. 👌👌

We always like to come here to eat at this Restaurant because the food is always excellent (not too spicy) - there is a standard here. Buffet is there everyday. Weekdays 600pm - 900pm and weekends whole day until 900pm. Good food and friendly staff. And to add to all that the price is really good. They also offer catering.

I tasted beef olathiyatheu (curry), ruti and sweet lassi....everything was delicious. Also tried Chicken Biriyani several times. You will get an egg and three pieces chicken in the Biriyani just for $9....and both the quality and quantity was very good.Must visit again. Great south Indian food.

Tasty south Indian food

The food is fresh, delicious and it is from the southern part of India so those expecting naan and butter chicken can find someplace else. Most reviews that comment on the presentation and food do not understand that this is authentic Kerala food. The fish fry is fantastic. You will get authentic fish curry vada, Idlis, egg curry, stew, tapioca and fish, etc. Good value for money. Dont go here for the presentation, go here with an open mind for the taste !!!

Great little place. Friendly and authentic feel. Casual but great quality. Helpful staff and great prices. Some new flavours and dishes that we hadnt tried before! Lots of locals coming in to take home too.

We have been to this place a couple of yrs ago and had a great experience. Keeping that in mind we went again today and will regret it in the coming years to come. If you have changed your chef, either send him for further training or let him go. Assess your service and see what you can improve. You need to know what is bhel and the right way to make sambhar. If you can improve, well and good otherwise change your entire menu or shut down.

Good food awesome taste nice & cool staff

Even though I dont see too many people at this restaurant, everytime I go, the food is still fresh and delicious. I went on Dec 26, 2019 for take out and I ordered the whole tilapia fish fry, and masalaz chicken fry. The fish was absolutely amazing and I devoured the whole thing. The chicken also is one of my favorites. The service can sometimes be very slow, like I had to get the cooks (the older one) attention several times to order, even though he saw me waiting. Hence the 4 stars, but in this case it was worth the wait.

I liked the food here was great! The selections were crazy different i have not seen the stuff they served here any where else. The guy who served us was really nice and pretty much allowed my toddler have free rain. Mind you we were the only people here. You gotta try it out at least once.

We are new to Alberta, live in Red Deer. I went with my mother last week to this restaurant. Its relatively small, but if you want to taste the real Kerala style dish, its the right place. We had buffet. The owner / person at counter was very nice and friendly. He gives attention to each and every guest. Really its worth. I have a suggestion to the owner. It would be helpful for some one who prefer not to eat non-veg to have the name of the dishes displayed.

It is the best Indian restaurant for Kerala cuisine . The taste is authentic . Buffet is literally the best with lots of dishes and they provide with porrota , big fish etc . I really love to come here . It’s my fav among all restaurants in Edmonton . You will never be disappointed with food and service here !!

Buffet was not good at all. It was one of the worst I have ever had till now. In a hot buffet the items were cold. Very poor presentation. Definitely not a good choice.

Decent place to spice up your life. Beware of the red chilli in samosa, green chilli in vada and all chillis in biryani. Come prepared to taste some good flavors as well as ask for some diet coke to compensate.

This is by far the best Indian restaurant I have been to in Edmonton. The food is very tasty, and the all you can eat buffet simply blew away my mind. A definite recommendation.

I wouldnt trust google reviews anymore. the so called buffet looks horrible and the fish dish is so salty. I will spend couple more loonies going to little india for real indian buffet.

Had masal dosai, it tasted great and loved the sambar. The parota was soft and fluffy. Good service too . Worth the money spent

I ordered beef olathiyatheu (curry), it was cut into small pieces the meat was was hard and full of fat and tendon. I think it was reheated several times and not fresh. It looked liked a can of dog food and certainly was not fit for human consumption.

Food was not good at all. Presentation was very poor. There was a lady (may be owner or cook) who was poking everyone while eating & giving her suggestions without asking. It was irritating. The quality of food as well as the quality of service was worst.

Terrible recent experience today. TOTALLY shattered!!!! Ordered special chicken, 2 x masala Dosa to go.. went home only to realize towards the end of our meal that I had a USED BANDAID in my sambhar and I was actually chewing on it. Me and my husband felt really betrayed. As it raises a BIG question on how hygienic and seriously they think about public safety while working behind the line in the kitchen. Spoke with the owner and she couldnt believe that such a thing happened. She apologized and offered me a Free meal. Well... I seriously feel that its a health hazard to feed such adultrated food to public where the cooks doesnt care nothing about their customers. Theres NO PRIDE in what they serve.

Best south indian food in capital city.I am foodie by birth.i always like north indian food.but aometime i have think beyond butter chicken and tandoori roti and saag.Masalaz is best place for indian food.coconut chutney, garlic chutney have authentic taste in masalaz .Mathew is very nice .my kids love cheese dosa.World famous masala dosa have a taste of every single indian spices.Overall very clean place to eat.We will be back.
