Staying at Privasea was one of the most delightful experience my husband and I had during our trip to Kerala.Staring from the absolutely amazing location, to the beautiful house, the well manicured garden and the superb service. Everything about that place is perfect!The house is perched on a cliff off Edava beach and you can see the sea and hear the waves from the comfort of the house. And it is almost always nice and windy there.The house seems to be made with a lot of love and thought. There is a sunbed, a hammock, cane chairs in the garden and we spent most of time outside, just reading books, listening to the waves and enjoying the breeze. Even the cute little dining area in the garden overlooks the sea. And at night, Jobin, the caretaker, switches on these fairy lights and the garden lights up in a beautiful yellow glow.Even the service was top notch. Benny, the owner, was always available for anything we needed. He was nice enough to accommodate an early check in. He kept checking with us if we were comfortable and if there was anything that could be done to make our stay better. He even provided us with a two wheeler for us to visit nearby places. Plus Jobin made superb food, mocktails, coffee for us and served them all with a big smile. At one point during our stay, we were sitting by the cliff, enjoying the sunset and Jobin surprised us by bringing a table laden with coffee and biscuits right up to the cliff! It was these small touches in their service and in the house that made a lot of difference.And since the house is away from the crowded areas, so it really feels like you have that whole place just to yourself. So it is literally privacy by the sea!We had a hard time leaving the place on the last day. And needless to say, each time we plan to visit Varkala, we will make sure we stay at Privasea!

Privasea is beyond anything I can imagine. The perfect place for any Honeymooners. Its just a villa surrounded by the sea with a butler to take care of your every need and thats it. Theres no one else around to disturb you which makes it so unique. Its just heaven on Earth and in all my years of travel, weve never found any place like this. Lets not forget the amazing food, the wonderfully curated compound and interiors.

Fantastic place! Its location is pristine. The furnishings add wonderfully to the charm of the place. The staff is very helpful and cooks well. For its price, its a fantastic deal.

I dont think we would have a better place in varkala for stay facing sea. And with great service and food by Jobin....

The property needs pest control. A frog jumped out of the toilet seat and a house lizard ate a mid sized spider on the wall adjoining the bed.The entrance needs more lighting.The breakfast was very basic. The bread that was served had fungus. Frooti is not a breakfast drink.It is a task to communicate with the caretaker/watch man due to language constraints.The property is serene, and has a good vibe to it. Loved the terrace seating. Stupendous sunset and sea views.But with the amount of money charged, the owner should really put efforts into making the stay worthy.

The owners of this place, have built this place with love! You can feel it in the attention to details in every single thing at the villa. And the caretaker of the place takes care of it like his own. Truly amazing view from the villa. You can hear the waves through the night and watch dolphins playing in the arabian sea, all from the comfort of your own private villa over the arabian sea! It is so private, that the owners could not have found a better name for this place! I am going there again and again, for sure!

Stunning View to the sea 🌊.. Cliff and beach are 15 minutes drive away... Dinning here is bit pricey but we have nearby hotels which we have to search, for reasonable price .. Lovely place.. Will come again for. Sure..

Indeed a private yet beautiful cottage amidst the sea

I wish i could rate this place 8/5. It still wouldnt do it justice. This quiet nook is on the most picturesque part of a quiet beach that youd only see on catalogues and brochures of an overseas establishment. Yes! Its that beautiful! Right from the cute picket fence that outlines the property and the stone walkway to the spoilt choices of midday nap options on the hammock or beach bench.The outdoors dining area is really romantic be it on the porch or the dining table which is always catered for a candle light dinner as well.The living area is very spacious and comfortable with a king size bed and the cleanest linen thats rotated regularly and no matter what time of day, its always maintained that way, thanks largely to the caretaker (who is solely responsible for the additional 3 stars I want to give this place but I will get to him later on).As advertised, the beach is private and less known to the tourist population so at any given point in time, there are never more than 5 people on just under a kilometre of pristine beach. The water is amazing and clear just beyond the turbulent shore teeming with crabs and eels and coral life.All in all, this place delivers above and beyond what it promises in terms of amenities, location, view, privacy and everything else.Now, lets come to Mr. Jobin. The real hero of this entire experience and the reason I want to recommend this place to everyone on my contact list. He, quite simply put, is an amazing person. He is polite, soft spoken, well mannered and to top it all, respects your privacy and boundaries and if that wasnt enough, he cooks like an angel. My wife and I have put on weight during our stay which is due to the gluttonous appetite this man brings forth in us through his cooking. All we did was tell him what kind of meat we wanted and the spice index we prefer and we left the rest up to him and by God was that the best decision to make! He really makes you feel like youre part of his family in the way he hears you cough for half a day and brings you home remedies by way of his brew of coffee or tea and believe you me, in next few hours, you will feel well enough to scream your lungs out. He is the Man Friday and you will want for nothing more. He is your one stop solution for everything you need while youre here. He eventually got so good at what we wanted that he anticipated what well be running out of and got it replenished without us asking for it. He takes a personal interest in your well being and pulls out all the stops to ensure youre taken care of. If there is an angel out here in gods own country, its name is Mr. Jobin. nuff said?Mr. Benny, you have found the perfect cherry in this guy to go in top of the fantastic cake of privasea. Although the meals could be little less pricey.Well done!!
