This new restaurant in Edava is an imposter. The ten-year old Green Pepper Restaurant is set in a serene setting on the South Cliff of Varkala. The high ratings on Trip Advisor are well earned, through years of quality service. Dont patronize the imposters on a crummy corner in Edava.

We saw the name cape of good hope for this place, we had great food there: keralan thorans, very good puttus for breakfast, a delicious homemade ginger beer, etc. The vegetarian byriani is especially exceptional, loaded with taste and spices, for me it changed the definition of what a biryani should be (also the portion is very generous). The atmosphere is very laid back and chilled, no music so you can enjoy the sound of waves at sunset, and the people there are very friendly too. We stumbled upon this place after two days in Varkala and just went there at every meal for the two other days we had there.
