The monastery is dedicated to the protection of the Most Holy Mother of God, and was first mentioned in the 17th century. After the Tvrdoš monastery was destroyed at the end of the 17th century, more precisely in 1694, the monks moved to the Duži monastery and rebuilt it. Tvrdoš suffered, and Duži became significant, and he maintained a Tvrdoš estate with land and vineyards. And Neda tells you all this in a way known only to her, what they would say dragon woman.

The peace that is felt here is unique. The monastery and the church as they should be ... without commercialization. You feel up to birth, as if you were born there. The women who welcome you and who maintain the monastery are very pleasant.

Not available to everyone, you need batiuszko permission. But the impressions are very exciting. It doesnt seem like it from the outside, but it makes a big impression from the inside. Before entering, it is worth reading about the history of this place and the works hidden there! Different world. Batiuszka and his wife are very nice and friendly, hospitable beyond measure! And the cake .... !!!!! Watch out for the road, stone and holes on both sides!

Beautiful monastery, it makes such a strong impression. It is about ten kilometers from Trebinje. The church is dedicated to the Protection of the Blessed Virgin. Its frescoed recently. The nuns of the monastery take good care of the monastery and the economy they care for. I visited the monastery three times in two decades, each time I was beautifully welcomed, each time I went from the monastery calm, full of energy. It is a beautiful place where a monastery was built, and on all four sides of the world there is a view of the surrounding hills.

The beautiful monastery, which hides very interesting but also difficult stories from the past, was told to us by Aunt Ned two weeks ago, it was really nice to listen to it, we learned about the suffering of this monastery, and about mother Teodora Delic, a nun and Abbess of the monastery Duži who passed away 5 years ago! Also about the suffering of Russian monks by local communists who fled to Yugoslavia from the Soviet Bolsheviks! The kind hosts of the monastery offered us refreshments and service, no matter what I say, I am delighted simply, every recommendation to visit the magnificent monastery Longer!

The Duzi Monastery is located near Trebinje, about 10 kilometers in the direction of Dubrovnik. This monastery was destroyed in every war. In the Second World War, it was destroyed to the ground. The picture shows her tomb next to the monastery, in which she was buried 5 years ago. Since then, this monastery has been added to the Tvrdos monastery.

The Longer Monastery is located about ten kilometers southwest of Trebinje, on the way to Dubrovnik. It was founded in 1694 and shortly after became the seat of the diocese. The Parish Church of Saint Panteleimon was in Duji until its destruction. During the eighteenth century, monks from this monastery performed parish duties in Sarajevo, Mostar, Trieste, as well as the city of St. Blaise for the Orthodox community of Dubrovnik citizens. In 1748, the old thatched roof on the church was replaced by a stone slab roof and a new cell was built. In 1855, permission was given to build a new church. This church is a one-nave structure with a semicircular altar and a semi-arched vault. The monastery collection contains two manuscript gospels, a memorial and a five-baptistery. Bishop Nectaria donated a monastery to the monastery and icons of the Ascension and Thomas disbelief. In this monastery is kept the icon of the Virgin, the work of an unknown Cretan painter from the sixteenth century. After many casualties during the last war, the reconstruction of the monastery began in 1998. The curator was Milan Pesut from Ljubinje, and frescoist Gavrilo Markovic from Belgrade. The economy of the monastery, managed by the sorority, is based on the production of local products: honey, dairy, wine and brandy. Visitors are particularly impressed by the peace, tranquility and surrounding landscaping of the monastery.

The Duži Monastery, once a male and now a female monastery, is one of the younger monasteries in this area from the end of the 17th century, but that in no way diminishes its beauty.
