Dont you dare believe a negative thing that you hear about TROSA. They were here for me when I needed them in 2007 and they are still here for me today 15 years later because I didnt come here to try to change TROSA, I came here for TROSA to allow ME the opportunity to change ME. Because of the care and support that I have received from TROSA and continue to receive till this very day I am celebrating my 15th year of success in recovery; and there are hundreds more stories just like mine because of this wonderful place and the wonderful people that support each other here.
Horrible place to go. Roaches, rats, little bed, cramped living space. Not at all like advertised. Not any actual “rehabilitation”. Food is horrendous. Staff is harsh. Better rehabs are available if you are thinking of sending someone here don’t. Review other options. They literally work you to death. Virtually no communication with family members. Harsh environment to put yourself or a loved one in. And if and when you decide to leave they give you a bus ticket it’s sad really. The way they make you feel about leaving. Glad I got out. Place should be shut down. Please try other options waaaaay better rehabs and work programs out there.
Its been years but I know its same things going on, the treatment is kept to 3 nights a week and they are encpunter groups, if u make it back from the job on time. At the end the day I was let out of prison to go there and for that Im grateful. It did help me to look at things differently but for it to be 24 months there should be far more time spent on self help. Addiction doesnt fit in a cookie cutter neither does recovery.
I have always heard the food could and should be better. There are better ingredients held back that are definitely earned and could/should be enjoyed by all. I know for a fact when the people have happy stomachs theyll just about work hard at anything. Get one of those big time culinary chefs come in and with the interested residents in culinary, turn the food and kitchen around.Other than that, TROSA and my sons hard work saved his life years ago. He needs the program again, I hope hell reach out to you guys.
Great used toy selections! Found a make shift Ewok Village for my sink hole museum!
This is a business. They use people to run it. Very much taken advantage of. Lack of family communication on their part. My son was there and now hes with God. I would never do that again. I hope he forgives me. Im sure he does.
We could not be more pleased with TROSA services. We have used them on several occasions for moving over the years and have been using them for landscaping maintenance for years. Very competent, dependable and polite. And affordable. Their catering service, headed by Willie Lane, has saved the day for the food component of Durham Public Schools Project Graduation that I have been involved in. They came in when we were having trouble getting donations from restaurants during the economy downtown. A great program.
A gigantic joke of an institution. It calls itself a non-profit and has the backing of Duke university and all the paperwork to go with it. In all actuality they have people working for free for a ridiculous amount of hours a week at several different companies making plenty of money. I have plenty of inside information into the supposed behavioral modification as they call it. Whats behavioral modification? Screaming in your face when you make a mistake and depending on the severity you can earn yourself 30 days of working straight for 15 hours a day. What other wonderful opportunities? Expired food that is thrown away before surprise inspections that they are informed of before. A kitchen that in no way shape or form would ever pass an actual inspection, its dirty, rat infested, improper chemicals that are hidden for inspections, expired products, improper handling of food and overall nastiness. They have an entire warehouse of wonderfully expired products. They use percentages of successful people but leave out the staff members who have relapsed and overdosed, some have died from the mistake.
Great people. Great program. All the negative reviews are from heartbroken people who need to blame someone other than themselves or their family member for their sad situation. Addiction situations are indeed terrible, but you can’t blame these people for trying to help you. It’s not fair.
Your guys showed up on time. Were completely thorough and professional in discussing the move out and once at the new move-in as well. Nothing was broken and I just cant say enough about these men and their professionalism. Kudos to Trosa. I would highly recommend your your services to anyone seeking a great moving company!
It gave me the structure I needed to maintain a healthy normal life. I left at 16months due to my own stupidity. However, every since leaving I have gained everything I was missing back in my life. The more time you gain in the program the better it gets. Im grateful for TROSA & for Willie Lane for being a 2nd father to me. This place is no cake walk but it is way better than prison.
The work they do in the community is priceless.
TROSA is one of the best organizations in Durham and they have helped us move a couple of times. The employees are kind, hard workers, and finishes the job quickly. I highly recommend them!
Well to start off I’m giving trosa a great review because first and foremost being an addict and wanting rehabilitation is not as easy as it seems. Even though I didn’t finish the program I’m honored to say trosa cares about YOU I mean literally some people been on drugs for years and their own family couldn’t reach out to help them feed them clothe them or shelter them. so the nerve of people being ungrateful for something that’s totally free and up to you to finish. this is an YOU DO IT program can’t nobody else want it for you but the addict there selves like honestly people should be more grateful because really what do you have to lose besides your addiction like I’m so happy to see the growth in trosa. from where they started to what they’ve become now. it’s amazing and literally they didn’t even serve a purpose in my life yet but I’m just thankful for them helping people off the streets reuniting them to there family’s. that’s a beautiful things you know how many people are broken because they just want back the ones they love💕. honestly think about that and maybe people would appreciate the total effort trosa puts in to make someone’s life better one person at a time GOD BLESS YOU TROSA AND THANK YOU IN ADAVANCE. HAPPY HOLIDAYS.
Absolutely terrible. The business model is for profit. It in no way helps any of the patients involved in the program. They work them to death and for what. A small bed and terrible food. It’s a for profit company that takes advantage of at risk youth and homeless citizens! Also yes they are sponsored by duke because they provide all the dorm moves and furniture for very cheap. They pay pennies on the dollar for these people to move everything in and out of these dorms. It should be shut down.
Well, we really wanted to love this program. Our son was admitted for 2 weeks. Over the 4th of July holiday, he apparently needed a Psych Evaluation. When he got back to the facility, he was told he was being “discharged”, and they literally put him on a bus to travel 400 miles back home. His Dad was there at admittance, was told all necessary releases had been signed by our son to allow communication. Yesterday, when Trosa finally called us back, after about a dozen messages left, we were told no releases were signed. They had also lost the bus ticket they required we purchase and leave in their possession. We are heartbroken. Much effort was put into this by our family, Hope was renewed, and for what?Trosa “owner”, whoever you are, expect that you will be hearing more from me. I will find out who funds your program, and they will be informed of our shoddy experience. You should be ashamed of yourselves. We only know what our son told us of why he was discharged, needed to know more, but nothing can explain away the other issues we had directly with your “staff”.Good concept. Terrible execution.
I am Djuana Jackson-Moore a 2007 Graduate of Trosa and I am living proof that the program is a Great place for recovery and getting your life and self back together.I learned how to drive,be flexible and treat people with kindness no matter what the situation.I needed two years to get myself together and I am really Grateful for Mr.Kevin Mcdonald-CEO,for pursuing his dream and allowing addicts like me to come and get it their lives back together.
Do not support this program. They treat women very bad. I went to Trosa to get help. I ended up more sick than well. Please do not support this program. This place needs to be shut down or invesgate by the FBI. Its very bad place for women and people who are trying to get well. They should lots of favoritism in men. Women are very limited to jobs and treated badly by staff. Do not support this program.
They came to pick up my furniture donation and were very friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend donating to this place.
I was SO upset about my experience on July 7th 2017. Clerk checked me out. Paid my bill. He talked a lot. Had to call a supervisor because he said draw closed before getting me rest of money. We talked told him I understand IWorked in retailed for 40 years. Later took my receipt out later and he scammed me out of $ 5.00.. . Just want you too know will tell others. Dont know if I will come back. Really like the store..
A blessing for my daughter to receive treatment and get her life back on track.Great program!!
Best treatment center I’ve ever come across
My brother is there and the change in him is a blessing to see, everything about him is different and we thank God for it
I Dont Have An Experience With Trosa Never Been In A Situation To Have An Experience With Them; But I Have A BoyFriend That Just Filled Out Some Paper Work And Who Is Trying To Get Accepted Into The Program. Hes A Control Substance Abuser N Wants To Get Help. By Reading All These Views n All The Great Comments, I Believe This Would Help Him On Every Level. So Please Trosa Give Him A Chance, A Chance To Better Himself, A Chance To Help Him Make Better Choices And To Let Him Know There Is More To Life Than Just Being A Control Substance Abuser.
It really worked for me. If u wany want to b clean and r very serious then yes come. Everyone deserves a 2nd chance
This is the best way to move. 11 years ago we moved from Durham. To Roxboro. You dont have to empty drawers in your dressers they bubble wrap everything and now we are getting ready to move from Roxboro to Timberlake. They are the nicest people . Jonathan comes to your house and gives you an estimate . Looking forward to our move on July 1.
Forever GRATEFUL.......a Blessing for my son
AMAZING PLACE FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSE....I LOVE HOW TROSA IS CHANGING THE WORLD ONE PERSON AT A TIME!!!!
This institution is downright criminal . It’s basically prison and the abuse is endless . Do not send someone you love here
My husband there and without trosa there would be no us
Ive tried contacting my wife and they keep blowing me off and etc they are disrespect people controlling the people who walk into that place I give the a low rating for not allowing us to speak to our people we trying too help I told her not to go
