Always want to come here since moving here a couple of years ago. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was nice. I will just say this was the most expensive Indian we have had in the area eating in.Over all we had a nice meal, the restaurant is clean and well presented. Sanitiser is available for use

Had a very nice meal here after dropping our son off at Durham University. We are looking forward to sampling the varied menu again soon..the only downside were the stale poppadoms but we booked for 6pm so I guess they were left over from lunch.Service was friendly and polite and prices the same as Surrey!

The customer service is great! The waiting time is good. As a not Indian person I think the food was tasty, although my Indian friends think it is not that authentic. The portions are reasonable, the place is really big and the vibe of the place is nice! They have cool music in the background.

My absolute favourite Indian restaurant. The food is absolutely beautiful, the chicken tikka masala is so rich and creamy one of the best I’ve tasted, amazing and full of flavour. The staff here are very welcoming and pleasant, really give off good vibes. Such a warm and cosy atmosphere. Great service and don’t have to wait too long. Also very good portions, always leave here ready to explode. As a huge Indian food lover this place will definitely take some beating, definitely recommended!😍🥘.

Wow! I have been to many differing curry houses up and down the country. Curry is by far and away my favourite dish. This place is something else. From the wonderful service to the stunning decor. The ambience is perfect. Then the food happens! Oooohh! The food happens.........Absolutely stunning food. The flavours, colours, aroma and the asthetics. These guys have just set the bar for me. Do not hesitate in booking here.

Incredible flavours with the dish I had. The sevice is on point. Such lovely people. The restaurant is large but has lots of nooks and crannies so it means that there are private tables. I would not hesitate recommending this spot to anyone. Think it might be going up to my favourite indian. Well done to the owners for making it so.

Terrible experience. Waited 20 mins for drink on arrival. 2 out of 10 starters turned up then waited over 20 mins for the next ones. The final starter was served 35 mins after the first one. Shocking service. Luckily mains all came out together but no more drinks. So 3 hours later we ask to pay the bill and we were asked to pay cash. No card machine apparently. Never plan on a return visit even if it was free. Shame because the food was amazing.

Fabulous - popped in on the off chance they were still serving food, late on a Saturday night. Initially they said they werent - and then they seated us without any pressure to order quickly once they checked with the kitchen. Food was stunning, the staff were great and will definitely be going back for the full dining experience. We were the last to leave the restaurant and still the staff were extremely polite and courteous. Thank you!!

Four of us visited yesterday evening due to my recommendation. The food was exquisite and the three choosy friends with me were extremely pleased with the meals and repeatedly thanked me for suggesting this restaurant. Considering the restaurant was very busy and that we had a number of different dishes and breads etc, this makes the quality of the food we received even more impressive. We look forward to going back. Thank you very much.

The staff were pleasant, but extremely inattentive. I acknowledge that it was a busy Valentines Evening, but service was ridiculously slow. It had also quietened down a great deal by the time we requested the bill. Nonetheless, I waited for 20 minutes, before deciding to go to reception to ask again. This was then processed slowly.Despite the widely circulated promotion of a 20% discount available to students over Valentines Day (I can confirm that there were no terms or conditions, after double checking these promotions in hindsight), we were only informed that it was necessary to pay by cash to take advantage of this. One can only assume that they were relying on people not to be in possession of cash or motivation to trek to the nearest cash point at the point of payment. Finally, the portion sizes were extremely small, and the food, although tasty enough, left me with a VERY upset stomach (and I have spent plenty of time in India without issue).

The service was amazing. Nice people. The curry was so bland. Ive honestly had yogurts that had more spice to them. (And no. The curry was nice but the wine is over priced and DO NOT order dessert. It will most certainly have sat in a freezer for weeks if not more. I was served a hard as rock dessert which was replaced but still charged. Thats what I call bad service when the meal was already quite pricey. I recommend the capital on Claypath more so than Alishaan. Its a smaller venue and can get quite busy, but the value for money is much much better.

So we were a group of over 20. Prior to booking, we were asked to pre-order our food; promised 10% student discount; and told that minimum we can pay by card is £10.When the last person sits down, food started gushing out, not too sure food wasnt pre-cooked. Food was good but small portions. The issues arose when we went to pay. The discount disappeared because apparently it was only valid if one pays by cash. When some of us wanted to pay by cash, they said it is quite a hassle to give discounts on some meals and not on others. We were all students with student card, so very easy solution: 10% discount on all the bill?! But NO... their solution was: no discount to all. Then we were asked to pay individually. Here comes another issue. The prices on the website are DIFFERENT from the menu prices in the restaurant. Thus, not only we didnt get the discount, we had to pay more than we budgeted since the prices mismatch. For example on the website, the Chicken Roshuni is £8.95, while I was asked to pay 10.95. Onion Pilau market 3.95 but I was asked to bay 4.50. Extremely dissatisfied. When I told the manager of my complaint, his answer was: policy. What policy is to daylight robbery? In sum: avoid this restaurant at all costs. Manager extremely unpolite - staff are nice. Food marketed at a price and sold at another. Student discount is at the managers will. AVOID!

Went in November & couldnt fault it. Lovely food, good service, excellent menu. Went for our second visit last night with husband & 2 daughters. Wed booked a table for 7pm & arrived on time. Restaurant wasnt particularly busy then, but was beginning to fill up. We were shown straight to our table, given menus, & our drinks order was taken soon after. We then chose our meals & waited for our food order to be taken. And waited. And waited. And waited.Loads of other diners who came in later were shown to their tables, their orders taken, & their food started being served. Husband said hed wait til 7.30pm, then he was leaving. At 7.28pm our order was finally taken! We ordered mains & asked for poppadoms to start.Once again, we waited, & waited & waited, watching other diners being served all the time. One couple whod come in after us actually finished before our food came! Finally the waiter came with some of our main course food. Husband told him to take it back as wed not even had poppadoms yet. He did, but still took another good 5 minutes or more to come out with the poppadoms, upon which, my husband had had enough, & said we were leaving, which we did.Wouldntve minded the long wait nearly so much if it was because they were busy. It was the fact that we were ignored & overlooked while everybody else who came in after us was being served.Terrible service, & we wont be going back, which is a great shame as the other time we went it was so good Idve given it 5 stars. Very disappointed, especially our daughters, one of whom had specifically asked for us to go to Alishaans. ☹
