Beautiful both inside and outside. Especially at the night when the light lit up. Inside, we can see the aquatic stadium use for 2008 Olympic games. At that time when i visit, i saw some children practicing very hard under the supervision of the coach. No wonder China won so many medal at 2008.

Fun modern light show to visit at night from the outside, the pool passes are slightly expensive and there are better places to swim. It shares a large sprawling outside square with the Birds Nest stadium, and in the evening youll find a lot of people out for a leisure stroll, flying kites, or just hanging out.

The design is in simple cube shape but really amazing. By the way this aquatic is standing next to the Bird Nest International Stadium. All you can find the ticket at the entrance where they put the speaker out loud for visiter who looking for ticket to get in the Ice Cube Aquatic and Bird Nest International Stadium.

Great indoor water slides for families. Clean olympic size swimming pools with large change rooms and lockers. 60RMB for 2 hrs swim.

This place is beautiful and has an amazing history. For 60 RMB, you can swim in the warm up pool of the Ice Cube! You cannot swim in the actual pool itself, but the warm up pool is very nice. I recommend either a good translation app or a decent ability to speak Mandarin; the ticket agents became frustrated with my group and it was helpful to be able to communicate more clearly. You do need a swimsuit to swim (ladies especially- guys could get away with underwear/shorts) but you must, MUST have and wear a swim cap to swim. If you dont have these things, they are available for purchase (for a steep price) at a shop inside, but it would be best to bring your own.

The building and the surrounding was cool. The only thing worth seeing is the big ice arena inside but isnt worth the entrance fee.

Alot of people will visit the olympic village in the day, but I recommend coming here in the evening or at night when the Olympic village is lit up. I personally find it alot more photogenic and impressive in the night. Furthermore the crowd is significantly smaller here after dark and so you will be able to enjoy most of the olympic park in peace and quiet. This could be a great place for a nice slow walk in the evening after you have had dinner. Spend some time walking around the entire area and you will find that there are many nice angles that you are able to take photos from. If you wish to enter into the stadium however, I would recommend coming in the day as the ticket booth to enter closes quite early.

Go there evening it amazing during night time.

The Beijing National Aquatics Center is a beautifully lit facility in the middle of Beijings Olympic Park. Although we never bought tickets to go inside, the beautiful changing colors at night was fun to watch and take pictures of. Just like my recommendation for the National Stadium, I also recommend checking out the Beijing National Aquatics Center if you have a spare hour or so in your travel plans at night.

So we started our day today much like the others. Up by 0700 and after eating are free breakfast and drinking some caffeine (coffee) we are on our way to the subway by 0830. This time we headed to the Temple of Heavens Park Area. This was a nice large green grass park area with more sights to see. During our walk through the area we concentrate on seeing the Harvest Halls. Then the Seven Stones.  Shortly after that we went to the Wangfujing Shopping Mall. We had some Starbucks and walked around. It seemed to be very expensive compared to our malls in the states. The overall impression was that I was underdressed and underpaid. We then got back on the subway and went to the Beijing Zoo. Of course, the first animal we wanted to see was the Giant Panda. After the zoo we went back to the hotel to rest and get some plans together again. Then we went back to the silk market to get some more souvenirs and bought some last minute deals before boarding the planes. Then we headed straight to the Olympic site to see the infamous cube and the birds nest. Timing was great. Only waited about an hour for total darkness to watch everything light up at night. Took lots of photos and we even flew some kind on miniature kites there. After that we decided to take a cab back to save some time. We pay around 70 yaun for it. It just helped us realize how much money we saved all week by using the subway system. Then we got some local meat chicken stick and had noodles, rice and the pot stickers in the hotel room. Packed up some clothes for tomorrow and waited for the final and biggest tourist spot of them all! Our guide called and we are heading to the great wall tomorrow morning at 0800. It was a birthday wish and life long goal of mine for several years now... It is coming true tomorrow. Thanks be to God!

Beautiful in the night..

Venue for the former Olympic water games now modified for tourists. There are water areas where you can enjoy & Olympic simulation games. Good for kids. To be honest for adults if you wont enjoy mass pool there is nothing much.

We was there both days and night time.I would definitely recommend go there at night. Lights are beautiful. Color change. We w were not able to go in due to construction. Heard they are changing it to ice skate ring. Ready for the winter Olympic.

Really beautiful... Wonderful structure.. and most important.. China improved even more after the Olympics 2008 its program to Discover and train Young athletes using such Olympics instalations.

Great architecture and great stadium

The Beijing National Aquatics Center, better known as the Water Cube, is the most famous and iconic Olympic Green building after the Birds Nest. With an area of over 100,000 square meters, the building designed by the architects of PTW Sydney is the largest ETFE clad structure in the world. The very striking outer wall consists of a steel frame based on the Weaire-Phelan structure, an ideal, theoretical foam structure, filled with cushions made of only 0.2 millimeter thick ETFE plastic. After a renovation of more than eight months, the Water Cube reopened on July 28, 2010 as a water park. In 2022, the building, which will be renamed the Ice Cube for this occasion, will host part of the Winter Olympics. Whatever the nickname, the Water / Ice Cube is a very beautiful building to admire, especially at night!

A huge stadium with extremely awesome architect design. Im honored to have dinner at the top floor which by invitation only. Learned that ordinary day there are art exhibition going on. Im really impressed with the building security and safety protocol.

Its beautiful...from the outside. It changes colours, and is best seen at night. It is presently being used as a training center etc and, as such, there are no tours for tourists. The square between here and The Birds Nest is also nice for an evening walk. Watch out for the unlicensed cabbies outside on your way home in the evening - its illegal in China, and a bad idea all around.

The design of this building is amazing. I am really impressed that the building was built on 2008. Hope to see the same or even better one for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic!!!

The entire Olympic Park was amazing and beautiful. At the end of it, away from this building, there is a beautiful nature walk to take.

Also known as the water cube, the design is equally pleasing and unique as the Birds Nest. It was used as the water sports and aquatic venue for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The staff are friendly and the interior is well maintained. It now also includes a water park.

Trees are getting taller....

Like some touristic places in Beijing, tickets are tricky. There was no any information about what you could see when you buying a ticket. I bought a ticket going inside the building but not allowed to see what I planned to see unless paying more money. The outside is well better than inside after the lights lit on after 8:30pm. If you just want to watch outside, you don’t need to buy a ticket, pass the security check point and walk around. The Bird’s Nest is in front of it. You can access this touristic place by subway.

Chinese architecture does not age well. Very disappointed to see a 10-year old building desperately needing renovation. The actual Olympic pool was not available when I visited, half of the building has been converted into a kidswater park, and you must pass a challenging swimming test to be able to swim in the deep water at the TRAINING pool. What a joke.

Impressive external design

Beautiful building, no doubt. Beautiful pool. well the competition pool is stunning, the former warm up pool (the only one you can use now) is quite less appealing and sexy. When it comes to the lockers ... how could i say? ... disgusting is probably the most appropriate. I absolutely wanted to swim there, I did. Check.

Walking around the Olympic village and seeing the architecture and the sheer size of these buildings is amazing. With all there is to see and experience, its a must see after the great wall.

I went to this place when I was very young, so bear with me! This building is very nice, as its design looks appealing. The entry costs money, but the inside is a pool, as well as a large water park. I didnt bring a swimsuit, so I just watched. The kids looked like they were having fun! However, watch out for the people who piss and have diarrhea in the pool, it takes them hours to clean it. Yuck!

Also know as the water cube, the walls of this building honestly look like bubble wrap. At night they use the design to play with lighting effects. Inside there are a couple small musumes on the upper floors, and multiple restaurants. There is a massive water park inside with many water slides. In another section of the building there is your normal lap and swimming pools as well.

An amazing piece of art and architecture. A view at night is much beautiful than ever.

Wonderfully built building with most unseen aquatic fish around the globe. Even have a dolphin show. Ticket was 160RMB , discounted 80RMB for senior, foreigners etc.

The best of the place is the look from the outside. Inside there is not much to see. The water park is just a pool with old people standing and staring at you. The only nice thing of the place is the water slide which is pretty good, but only that is not worth it. Also, the personnel is very rude and if you are not Chinese, they will keep staring at you while whispering. Pretty uncomfortable experience.

The main pool where Phelps made history looks the exactly how he left it, not even one maintenance job can be found. For the winter olympic games of 2022 it will be converted to an ice ice rink.The other pools are now used by general public! Very crowded by the way but people seams happy!

Nice to visit the Olympic park but nothing special. I think that doing the aquatic parc inside the water cube is more interesting, specially with small kids.

Empty space, surrounded by mostly wasteland. Since everything else worth visiting in the Olympic Park is miles away, better skip this one and head straight to the stadium.

Nice design.. make sure to buy shuttle car if you dont want to walk, specially family with kids.

A very fun place to visit for a bit, just make sure its not sunny or even if it is, do make sure to bring an umbrella, there is literally no shade at all. Apart from that the experience is worth a bit of effort of walking all the way to the aquarium unless you pay for the carriage.

It s very cool place with a huge park.

Visited during the day. A bit disappointed. Not much to see. Some large, empty halls. We almost got lost trying to find our way to the main pool, although I was with a friend who can speak Chinese.The stadium was more interesting in my opinion, since the two are so close its still worth walking to the swimming pool.

If you like to take photo of night lighting, this is the place for you.

The entrance is not so expensive, cca 20 RMB. But if you want to swim dont forget to take bathing cap. If you do you just can watch.

This costs 260rmb (around $50AUD) and none of the rides allowed anyone over 90kgs. There was no indication of this until in the park. So as a 90kg+ person I was unable to use anything in the park except for the wave pool (and the waves caused by a motorboat on the Murray are far more exciting), which only operates for 20 minutes at a time, 5 times a day. If you are a lighter person you might find this value, but as an Australian living near the coast and many pools with waterslides this is an expensive, loud and crowded day out with little reward.
