The Pet washing station is very unorganized. I’ve had many problems with it. Every time I went to wash my dogs, the soap was always empty and I had to chase down an employee and ask if they can refill it when I already paid money for the bath. There also needs to be a time limit. Many people take there time in the washing station and don’t show any care to others waiting a long time in line. There needs to be a time limit for this. There are 3 washing stations all in a row in the store. The middle station is closed off due to COVID 19. I understand that this is a serious thing going around but we are not required to wear a mask in the store so there shouldn’t be a need to have the middle washing station closed off. Let people decide if they want to take that risk. Don’t decide that for people.

The training has helped my dog learn more skills than I thought was possible. The trainer is patient, understanding and encouraging. We cant wait for the next class!

I went to get a tag for my dog, it was a kool experience once I figured out I had to by the tag at the register.Once you walk in the door the machine is right there, dont have to walk by the registers or nothing. After messing with the machine for a bit it told me to scan a tag that I didnt have... Now Im on a wild goose chase to find at least a sign that advertises where I can find one of these things. Come to find out after walking the store to find one or an employee (short staffed, they were amazing once I tracked one down)the tags are at the register.

Great service. Dogs nail trim went quick and done well. Talked to the trainer and set up puppy classes. And cashier was amazing! You can tell all of the employees love animals.

Out of the two franchise pet stores in Duluth this is the better pick. It has everything you would be looking for and the layout makes sense. Large aisles which is nice for when you want to bring your dog inside. Gives the animals plenty of room even if you are in the same aisle. Outside of that it is pretty much just your franchise pet store.

We bring are cure little shizuh here to give her a bath an we just love how welcoming they make us feel.

Love this option - makes bathing a dog so much easier & nicer - Faucets are tricky to figure out & ramp situation is difficult to impossible to convince a dog to walk up - steps seem like a better option - overall it was great to be able to bathe a dog with the types of shampoo & conditioner they offer, along with a towel & dryers for finishing up

Weirdest vibe I have ever encountered in a large chain store like this

I have never had a problem with this location even when my dogs werent acting their very best. They are very welcoming and open. The staff is very friendly forward in courteous. They even let me sit outside for a while with a puppy in training who I was working with socializing at the time. Not only that but one of the managers there helped me out when I ran out of money and needed to get a cone for my dog. My big old boy had a hotspot that wasnt healing proper. We blown all our money at the veterinary office and didnt have anything left to get a cone to put around his head to keep them from itching it. I will never not be grateful for this amazing Act of generosity.

We came to use the self serve tubs at the Hermantown, MN location & were caught in severe weather with huge hail upon leaving. I dont remember the staff members names but according to my receipt one of them was Community Cashier #728191 at 07/26/2021 06:31 PM gave us towels, spoiled our sassy German Shepherd, and let us take shelter. Thank you for your thoughtful actions. I hope you made it home safe too!

Kicked me out because a manager was rude to me, so I asked to talk to ANY employee BUT her, when a different employee approached me, I said, if I were you and had her as a boss, Id poison her.

Brought my cat to get groomed, and it was easy enough. She smelled really good, but still didnt get all the fur from her spring shedding. It was $47 for a wash and firm brush.

PetSmart is awesome I use their dog wash for the first time the other day and I really liked it. It was convenient and they supplied everything you needed to give your pooch a bath. I would have given it five stars but 15 bucks is a quite a bit to pay to wash a little dog.

Brought my dog in for grooming which was great! Spent over $80 for bath and cut. Noticed when I brought him home that he didn’t have his tick collar on. Called the store and guess what they don’t seem to have it. So now I’m out another 60 dollars for the collar. Total BS! Will never recommend this store ever and will not shop there again!

Very happy - this was Susies first grooming and she was a bit nervous but Logan recognized that and took her time, it was clear Susie felt very comfortable with her. She looks exactly as I hoped she would, everything was perfect. Very happy - will go back and recommend Logan!

We love pet smart. The lady who cut my doodles hair didn’t do the most even cut, but my fur baby was so clean. Smelled amazing, ears were the cleanest I’d ever seen them, and she still looked cute. Affordable to, we even did the upgraded package. They always have what we need too.

This place is great bring your dog with you in the store on a leash of course let them pick there own toy or give them a bath in one three big dog tubs. They also have grooming and so much more go check it out

We got a 9 mo.old GS 5 weeks ago .A good dog but needed a little more training.The treats we get is only sold here the other places stop get them .We will try the bath for her this winter.

Took my Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier to get groomed--they were so professional and friendly AND truly cared about my dog. Very clean, professional setting I might add. They took the time to talk about my dogs temperament and coat. They were very understanding with my concerns about my nervous dog. I would highly recommend if you get anxious about leaving your nervous dog somewhere. Your dog will be in good hands if you take them here! 5 stars.

Such a great experience. One of the items I needed to get they didnt have, but because of it they gave me 20% off the items I did get. Above and beyond what they needed to do for customer service. Couldnt be more thrilled.

Employees are so kind and truly love animals. I had to go there to look at food and asked questions about my german shepherds diet and if they had any recommendations, and they answered not only educated-ly but gave me great advice on how to save money and keep my dog healthy. My dog also loves the cod skins they sell!

Horrible experience. Went in to get a guinea pig, was told the guinea pig start kit that your store sells is not adequate for a guinea pig. Makes sense, right? Tries to upsell to a larger cage, which we agree to. After that told that guinea pigs can’t be sold individually. My girlfriend works in a vet clinic, pretty sure she knows better than the PetSmart associate. Will NEVER return to this store or any PetSmart ever again.

I recently went in to use the dog self-wash and arrived a little before the store opened. The manager came out and said, Its going to be awhile, there are people using the wash right now. Really? The store isnt open. Is your grooming salon using them? No, its people whove been coming here for years. We let them in early. So I pay and walk back to the wash area. Two people with no masks are drying two very large dogs with very thick fur. There is hair all over the walls and tubs. The guy just looks at me waiting, grabs a treat for one of the dogs and continues. I hung around for 15 minutes and they were no where near done. Not a big deal if I lived in town, but I live out a ways and drove in specifically to use the wash when the store opened. If youre going to let people in early, make sure theyre done by the time the store is open to the public. Otherwise, change your hours.

High priced but quality pets needs and knowledgeable staff

A 5 gallon tank isn’t big enough to buy a goldfish , so the clerk refused to sell me one. That’s it, so I guess look else were to buy a fish?

I went in for tropical fish and found a few I wanted. There wasnt the selection Id hoped theyd have. I was looking for emporer tetras and sterbae Cory. Not too many places around Duluth/Superior carry them.

I got all of this for 44 dollars!!! The staff was super friendly and helpful!! They even price checked for me nd will price match online stores was very happy with my visit here!!!

She sold us the Sirian hamster, and told us exactly what we needed to care for him properly.. and every aspect of making him the absolute happiest critter as he deserves and because of her I believe this will be a success. She also mentioned coming back absolutely anytime and find her with any questions or concerns. Shes a 5 star employee no doubt thank you!

I had the pleasure of being helped by Ron! I was in store looking for joint supplements for my pup. He kindly asked if it was a breed / age thing. After figuring out more details, he told me exactly what he recommended I should try! After picking it out myself, I got to the counter and actually grabbed the wrong items. There was a line behind me, and Ron took the time (with manager permission of course) to physically show me where the products were. Excellent customer service, very knowledgeable worker! It’s really comforting knowing my pet store employees have done what it takes to know what animals need!

Three members of the staff went out of their way to help me make informed decisions on a tight budget when they were already very busy with other customers and stocking ect. Very impressive. They all gave quick and and very knowledgeable answers

After standing and waiting for 10 minutes for someone to wait on us, I had to wander the store and find an employee. Then waited another 5 minutes for the person helping to show up to. I requested which fish that I wanted. She told me that she had to know the size of the tank at home. I told her that they were going into 2 separate tanks and I wasnt sure of the sizes. She then told me that I would have to show her what size on the tanks they had for sale. At this point I told her I was done waiting and messing around, I just wanted to buy the fish. She refused to sell to me. I asked for her manager and she said she was the manager. VEY RUDE.We left the store and will never be back in a Petsmart again.

Duluth PetSmart is the best place ever! Love the environment, the cashiers, floor staff, trainers, and grooming staff are all exceptional! They seriously care about everyone’s pets and their wellbeing! I bring my dog there often to shop in store and it’s just such a positive environment every time! I also bring him in for his training classes weekly and Luann is the kindest trainer ever and really wants everyone to succeed in her courses! I also brought my boy in for his first ever grooming appointment today and the grooming staff were very kind and caring to him and really made him clean and did an amazing job! Thank you everyone at Duluth PetSmart, thank you for all your kindness and knowledge throughout this crazy year!:) I recommend this store in particular to anyone in the area looking for a good pet shopping experience!❤️

We bought a couple of beta fish last year and the employee who helped us was great about recommending food/products and advice for caring for our betas. One of the betas died a week ago so my kids wanted another. When we got to petsmart the other day, we had lots of questions about getting another beta and the employee told us we could instead get a small fish to share the tank with cookie(our beta) so we ended up getting a fully aquatic frog which only grows to about one and half inches and our beta fish seems very happy to have a new buddy versus having his tank split with a fish on the other side. The lady also helped tremendously by picking out food and teaching my kids and I about our new little amphibian! One other thing we witnessed there was a bird getting loose right by the sliding doors and the way the employee caught and handled the bird was amazing. 💛

The staff here love to see your fur babies and give them the biggest welcome. Theres no discrimination to the dogs. Love coming here questions I had with my new puppy all got answered. Hoping to take the dog classes soon.

I brought my cat in for a nail trimming. By the time I walked to the back of the store to grab cat litter and paid for the litter and nail trimming, she was ready to go! Good pricing also.

Never trust petsmart with any information they give out. It is not backed by facts, it is not researched, and literally they have as much expertise as a Super One grocer does about cooking. They confidently give you information acting like it’s valid and correct but it is all lies. Every single thing I was told about my snake was a false information and has made my snake aggressive. After talking with the wonderful Roger, from the Snake Pit, I am finally on the right path towards PROPERLY caring for my snake.If you are looking for snakes, reptiles, spiders, or fish: go to the Snake Pit and World of Fish in Hermantown (only 5 min from this petsmart).Thank you Snake Pit, screw petsmart!! Petsmart employees should not be sharing care tips they do not know for sure and even the Petsmart website/animal care page is WRONG. I have been a Petco person for years but I have changed my pet store preference to Petsmart - cleaner, better staffed, more helpful, greater selection. Overall a better shopping experience.

We went in to buy a chameleon and the lady asked if we were 18 and my friend was 20. so she could’ve gotten it because she was going to get one anyways. the lady helping said she wouldn’t sell it because my friend would give it my 17 year old friend. Which I understand but it’s not necessary to continue to refuse even if it’s for herself. Well my 17 year old friend didn’t know want the responsibility anymore so the 20 year old was getting it herself but the worker kept refusing! It’s wrong to refuse service to someone over 18 and already has a chameleon and can take care of a new one!
