Great restaurant ! We loved it... The decoration is beautiful, its almost impossible to choose of the menu! Everything is a modern version of traditional Irish plates and the products are local. Nice cocktails and wine selection. Of course I recommend this place!

Had such a wonderful, upscale lunch here which was exactly what I needed after walking around all morning. And the ambiance is really nice!

We visited this place while in Dublin and stopped here on a recommendation from someone walking around. It was a very nice place but it was very busy and around holiday timing so it took us a while to get in. They were understaffed for the traffic and the wait staff were not very attentive. We would have drank and ate more but it just took so long. The food was good but expensive, if youre not on a budge this was a good place to stop.

We sat at the bar and had drinks and a dish. Jame and ging was made nicely. The female bartender is who served us. She was very polite, friendly, and helpful.The portobello mushroom tasted delicious. The sweet potato was my favorite part of this dish!We would definitely revisit this bar if we find ourselves back in Dublin.

There seem to be mixed views on whether the Ivy delivered in Dublin but I had 2 great meals there to date and it never disappointed. From luxurious decor through attentive service to great food it’s actually great value for money in Dublin where you could easily spent the same in a neighbourhood restaurant.

Small, traditional and lovely. A Go to spot for watching rugby matches. My friends would often get a light bite of food here too. The service is excellent, strangers are made to feel like locals straight away and Im not just saying that because one of my best friends works here (the mad yolk behind the bar in the picture).

The Oak is a nice café bar with a great irish atmosphere. We enjoyed a late dinner (shepards pie and panfried chicken with mushroom and bacon sauce and creamt mashed potatoes) - and of course beer! The food was great and the beer fresh, and it gives you an awesome irish atmosphere! Id highly recommend this place, and would def go back!

Great bar bear Dublin Castle. The bartenderx Daniel, was very fun to chat with. He is well traveled and very knowledgeable with his whiskies. The menu is very good with a lot of traditional meals. The Baileys cheesecake was out of this world; on its own, deserving a 5 star review.

Enjoyed the food. Period were chill and the awareness and allergen friendly staff made by meal fantastic!

Weary good food and nice staff

We just had sone chowder since we were still stuffed from lunch, but omg. That was a chowder . But the cherry on top was the guinness bread . It was so, so good.The interior is amazing. Feels a little bit like the 20s . Staff was nice . Prices were okay , a little on the expensive side , but a lot of restaurants in dublin are with way lesser food quality. We will visit again!

As all of the pubs in the city a bit expensive, but good quality of food and service. As Ive tried quite a few other pubs nearby, this one is pretty much my favourite one.

The restaurant was great: food, staff, drinks and atmosphere. The waitress was friendly and the bar tender actually came to our table to see if our Whiskey drinks were good. And they were! Food was tasty , especially the warm goat cheese salad and the salmon cakes. I would definitely recommend this place.

We were greeted and seated quickly. The friendly server took our drink and food orders in a timely manner. The live music, solo guitarist, performed several classic rock songs but in his style, which was great. The chicken and mash, the risotto, and the veg stack were tasty and delightful. The lemon tart though was underwhelming. Still would go back!

On my occasional trips to Dublin I like to go to different places & my colleague wanted to try here despite prices! €17.00 for genuinely ordinary Shepherds Pie & €17.50 for average Fish and chips!! I know I wont be back my colleague too. Tourists are not foolish eitherPity is looks a grand place for a drink or night out though Id be nervous pricing a Southern Comfort! GO ELSEWHERE!

Always busy place with decent menu but not too well executed.

Went into the Oak pub last night with family and friends.The pub was quite busy and there were some table reserved and one table at an door which was available. We inquired with the waitress about the reserved table and she said if they did not arrive in the next 10 minutes that we could use the table but we could use the table which was at one of the doors.we proceeded to move a couple of chairs around this table and the manager Paul came over to use and informed use that we could not put additional chairs around this table as it was blocking the door.I replied that the table should not be there in the first place and it was causing a health and safety risk . Paul obviously did not like the reply and then assumed that we had to much to drink and asked use to leave.We were then escorted off the premises by this very abrupt and rude manager.we will never go back to this pub again and would never recommend this pub to family or friends.

I accidentally ordered a €22 whiskey, but it was delicious. Just be sure to ask for the price first!

We went here for a quick drink before a visit to the Olympia Theatre nearby!this is a gorgeous place to have a drink and there is a huge range of gins for those who like a G and T!!staff were very helpful and there was a great vibe to the place despite the horrible weather outside! it is busy but well worth stopping by for a drink. will definitely be back.

Great atmosphere, friendly place, attentive staff. I just had a beer and a shepherds pie to eat.. The shepherds pie lost a star for this place though.. It was really very nice mash on top of about 3mm of lamb mince

Stopped in after a long day. Smithwicks on tap and good wine! Never order a burger outside of US, but they looked so good....and they were! (We recommend the burgers.) One of the best weve EVER had. Ordered fish and chips as starter. Good also. Definitely stop in if you are in the neighborhood!

Nice small bar. Customers that seemed to be regulars were very pretentious and commenting on everyone who walked in.

The Oak is a really nice pub. We went here after a meal in beef and lobster across the road for a few drinks. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We sat at a pod table in he the door on the parliament street side. The table had a slight wobble which caused a slight spillage. On of the guys there immediately got beer mats and steadied the table and even took the drink and topped it up. A really nice gesture, we were very impressed. There is a great atmosphere in the bar and we’d happily have spent the night here. A+ pub!

I come here quite often and always enjoy it. Cocktails are amazing, and the atmosphere is beautiful. My favourite pub by far.

Normally I am not a fan of live music in a bar, but the singer that was here on a Friday in July was brilliant! He played a great range of songs, and it wasn’t too loud - we were still able to easily have a conversation at our table. The staff are very friendly and the cocktails were great. This was my first time in the Oak, but I’ll definitely be back!

Lovely place. Nice atmosphere. Band was good. What ruined the night was the lounge staff short changing or not giving back any change at all. Three times this happened. If I was going in again I would just go up to the bar myself.

Would not recommend this place to no one. Service sucked food was par by best estimates. I’ve had better service at a McDonald’s for a quarter of the money. Very disappointed all they are interested in is taking your money. I get it your in the tourist section of Dublin but your competitors do a better job of making you feel welcome.

I was recommended this place by a friend who told me to tell Stephen Hi. Happens that he was my bartender that day. Hes a great lad. Very knowledgeable and takes pride in what he does. Real friendly and casual place. Im actually here again the next day to have a pint! Cheers

Great location and comfortable surroundings but still getting over paying 10.50 for a large glass of wine. Order the mussels which were very well presented but to describe them as small is being kind. Wont be returning and was disheartened to see a group of tourists arriving knowing they were ripped off!

First day in Ireland we went here just because it was one of the first places in temple bar when walking on dame street. We both had a sandwich with the chips. Both were extremely good with a really nice presentation. Besides being actual food the interior was really intricate and intresting with lots of random bits of Irish history. Great stop

Absolutely amazing food. It was a little slow on the delivery, but well worth the wait. The beef cheek was some of the best Ive had (yes, it sounds off, but try it - you wont be disappointed). Waiters and waitresses were genuinely enjoyable and we had a great time. Outstanding experience and would did again next time we are in Dublin.

Absolutely wonderful cocktails, great atmosphere, lovely staff and very nice food. The beef pie is absolutely delicious and gigantic. The fish and chips is very good and feels quite *light* as they use tempura. The prices are quite reasonable for a place that well-situated and that looks this pretty. After a certain hour, they switched to live music, which made the evening even nicer.

The food was quite good; the potato skins were amazing. Service was a bit slow, especially waiting to pay the bill. Overall a good visit, though.

Very clean quiet place for whiskey or beer. Beef stew was great too.

I had the shepards pie was served very hot, but was really good. We also had the fish and chips that was excellent the peas reminded us of London very good. Bathrooms are down 3 flights of stairs just be aware. Overall great experience would definitely recommend.

Has changed a bit over the years but still retains its proper pub feeling. Nice pint and decent food. Always worth stopping in.

Not as expensive as I thought it world be. €6 for a pint of rockshore. No budweisser!!!. Bad bad thing was that ladies toilets were in the basement. That was a bit scary

We have been here a few times now to celebrate things . Once again it was excellent. The service by everyone was so good . Very friendly staff and even though it was busy when we got there. The service was great . Gluten free beer also

Nice ambience. Service a bit slow and not particularly friendly. We only ordered a couple of drinks and got the impression the waitress was annoyed.

So far only drank here. Even though its a revamp it kinda has a timeless feel to it. Bar chairs are very comfy and good range of Beers and Drinks. Certainly will be trying the food in the very near future.

Absolutely one of my favorite stops in Dublin. Skip the tourist hype of the Temple Bar area. Tracey and the rest of the staff made us feel so at home and she gave her personal recommendation for local beers and whiskys to try, even making me a hot whisky when I mentioned Id been fighting a head cold. A hidden gem, truly.

Just happened to stop in, and what a delightful time. We had a delicious lunch and the staff were engaging and kind. The chips were crisp and seasoned well. They were so good, that I was looking forward to them when we went back for dinner. To my disappointment, they were not at all the same. I was told that they did not get a delivery and they had to substitute. I will hope to see them when we go again

Pleasant bar in the centre of Dublin. We sat at the bar itself, watching the bartenders pouring Guinness the proper way, mixing drinks and serving food. Tasty bar snacks, and not too busy, but not too empty. A nice atmosphere.

We visited mid-afternoon on a Friday and it was busy. We ordered small meals and they were very good. Clearly trying to be friendly, our waiters manner was a tad intrusive but this may just have been cultural. Overall, it was a very positive experience.

We went there multiple times, sometimes just for some drinks, once we went there for dinner.Food was available for a reasonable price. There were also lots meals to chose from and the ones we choose were all great.Furthermore the service was great and very kind.I would definitely recommend this place!

Great place to meet up and have good food and drinks..

Had a good time here. My wife and I were on honeymoon in Ireland, and The Oak had the benefit of being one of the few places we visited that had air conditioning during Irelands worst heat wave since the 70s. We had a great conversation with a local at the bar, and the food portions were generous and tasty.

Had a lovely risotto there. Really more of a place to go with a group of people rather than single people or pairs.

Booked lunch for 10 people and we were waiting 35 minutes for our sandwiches !When we ordered the sandwiches we were told they were premade so we could not choose what to have on themThen it took 35 minutes to deliver them !I ordered the sourdough cheese and ham toastie and what I got was a sliced bread toasted that was like crispbread and just crumbled as I ate itI was very disappointed as I had had this sandwich before and it was delicious and had recommended it to my colleaguesI won’t be coming back for lunch as I only have an hour

I really like The Oak. Its expensive, but you pay for the ambience, service and cool people watching views. Decent selection of beers and spirits too.
