Wonderful museum,a real historical Qatari home,d slavery house was my favorite

4 museum houses located in the city center, msheireb downtown that explains a lot of Qatar’s history and culture! amazing trip, it’s the real Qatari’s families houses!! it shows the slavery story in old times and several other stories like oil extraction and technology and many amazing projects. kids will love the place and adults as well. the interior is very modern, the place is clean, there is also a library full of books and magazines related to the museums. there is a very nice gift shop as well 😍.the place really takes your heart ❤️.the transportation to reach there is various, you can either go with the mini metro or bus or car, which is amazing. you. don’t have to worry about the parkings👍🏽.give it a try it’s worth it.

Insightful look at Qatar history

A lovely way to spend part of the afternoon. Some fascinating memorabilia and first hand accounts. The overview on slavery is quite eye opening. The interactive features are fun and informative. You can also take the tram through Msheireb if you like.

Several old houses repurposed into museums that tell the story of various aspects of Doha before oil and wealth, including of slavery. Very well done.

Right across Souq Waqifs courtyard are four heritage houses turned into museums known as Msheireb Museums. Its free to enter.You can download the Msheireb Museums app so you can have a self-guided audio tour at the heritage houses.Along the tour you can stop by at Sogha gift shop, Empire Cafe, Al-Fai restaurant, Msheireb Museum Library.Friendly and competent staff in every house provide full information.Recommend visiting with children.

Four separate buildings having different stages of development of Qatar is displayed aesthetically. Modern technology is used in projecting the videos. In multiple screens continuous display of slavery was especially very good. The buildings are made in traditional way.

3 museums are around the downtown and I liked walking around it and learning new stuff.

Great place to explore

There are four museums. One, depicting a Qatari home changing throughout time. One telling the oil story of Qatar. One telling how slavery has influenced Qatar. One telling the story of a typical Qatari neighborhood that has changed due to technological, social and economic development.

The first house of this exhibition is about slavery, both in a historical perspective and a bit in modern days. Let me tell you that its the most worthless, unenjoyable hypocritical set Ive ever seen. After describing the horrors of slavery in detail, the have the nerve to talk about the positive aspects of slavery in the arab world and bring up examples like the closeness of slaves to their owners families. Shouldve leave the topic untouched if theyre not going to admit its simply universally bad.

Will get to see the recreation of traditional house of Qatar, history of qatar, how they survived and made this nation so beautiful.

Really good experience. You will feel the real power of Qatars growth in just 2-3 hours. Havent seen this good interactive museum anywhere

Msherib museum, consisting of 4 different house. It is worth to visit, and the children will love it.

This museum has four houses. The museum describes the evolution of Qatar. It describes the slavery and its malpractices. All four houses have different themes but all related to slavery. The first house which I liked the most😍 have information on genes as well. They have defined the gene in an unique way and its fun to know. You should have at least 3 hours to visit all the four houses. Its very enlightening. You will feel more knowledgeable than the previous version of yourself. The staff there is very humble and friendly. They offered complimentary water bottle. This water tasted different from normal drinking water. It has a very slight flavour of coconut and tasted so good that I drank the whole bottle in a go 😀.

One of the most unique exhibitions in town. Consisting of 4 houses located next to each other, I easily spent half a day completing all 4 in details. Highly recommending the Bin Jelmood House (History of slavery and modern slavery) and Company House (History of pioneering petroleum industry).

Worth visiting ...beautifully design place

Didnt actually get to visit the museums since the Ramadan timings are 9 AM - 2 PM and we reached around 3 PM. But theyve done a fabulous job rebuilding Musheireb. The architecture is amazing and once the place opens completely, hopefully itll be bustling with activity. Only a few cafes and mosques are open as of now.

Very nice place for history’s information

Musheireb project is a beautiful area with remarkable architecture, when I visited it felt brand new, and a bit empty, like an item thats just been unboxed, not many people and cars in the streets, most coffee shops and restaurants are still under decoration, but museums and some coffee shops and businesses are already open, museums are mostly renovated old houses turned into museums, I visited one of them only so far (there are 4 of them) and its a nice experiense, entry is free, at least when I visited. The one I visited is called Ibn Jalmoud, its used to be the house of a slave trader, and the museum is dedicated for education on the dark history of slavery.

Must visit place to understand the changes happened in Qatar since 1950.we enjoyed the visit.

The museum arranged in to four parts, each and everyone have separate theme and its good to see , well arranged. The restoration of the four heritage houses, Bin Jelmood House, Company House, Mohammed Bin Jassim House and Radwani House.

Beautiful place, it so rich in history and interesting stories that you should go and visit the place because it tells the history of Doha in a way that you can understand a lot of issues regarding the history and details of the tourist district and also tells the history of the region to undertake some issues that are still current today.

A finest place in heart of Doha with iconic buildings & tradition attire of Qataris

Awesome museum. You can easily spend the day here. The museum consists of 4 seperate museums which are preserved Qatari houses. Lots of history to learn whilst enjoying a stroll outside from place to place. Staff were very helpful, especially upon arriving at the museum. Great experience.

If you are interested in history. Its a must visit place for. I enjoyed alot there. Here you can see how old qatari families were living.

It had a lot of similar paths and places and not a lot of signs, it felt like I was in a maze. If youre like me a person who easily gets lost, make sure you have and adult with you.

This is a very different than any other museums in the world because it consists of 4 houses and each house has its own story, it is well netted together to have the full complete story. You have to see it for your self

The Msheireb Museums were a delight to visit, considering that they are not as well-known as Dohas blockbuster attractions like the Museum of Islamic Art and the Pearl. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of exhibits and the lack of crowds. The museum compound consist of 4 restored historical buildings in the old heart of Doha (very close to Souq Waqif):1) Radwani House - a traditional Qatari family house2) Company House - exhibition on Qatars oil history3) Bin Jelmood House - exhibition on slavery, human rights and human diversity4) Mohammed Bin Jassim House - exhibition on Msheireb, Dohas old districtI recommend around half an hour for each building. Even if visiting in a hurry, the architecture of the 4 buildings is worth a quick look. All 4 buildings are admission-free, have air-conditioning and are equipped with washrooms.After visiting all 4 houses, I definitely had a better insight and appreciation of Qatars history and culture.

This place is cool, but a bit small

Very informative museums and worthwhile to visit while in Doha. It tells the history of the early life in Qatar and its civilisation. Do not miss this place, for sure more interesting than a visit to the malls or even Pearl Qatar.

Absolutely fantastic. Museum set in four seperate houses. So much information provided, I had to go a second time to digest it all. Beautiful scenery on walks from and to each museum. Definitely recommend. Id say give yourself at least two hours to do all four.

Consist of 4 houses named and decorated differently. You can have your 2-3 hours of time in there and enjoy the different style of museums. Application set up for the museum is quite useful. Suggest to visit if you have spare time...

Place lacks the artifacts that can showcase slavery. But the use of technology was amazing. Some rooms are empty still.

This place is really so informative. The thing I like most is history of slavery. Its touching. Peoples should know about things that used to happens once upon a time here in Qatar.

This is a great place to visit if you are interested in knowing Qatars future plans for the development of the city. There are large scale models of the plans and it is pretty impressive. It is situated at the Doha Corniche, which makes it even better.

I loved exploring it, I went with friends. It was really fun to explore how everybody lived years ago. The most amazing thing though, was the mini-movie kind of thing, I mean awesome.
