Not very bad. Not very good either. But you will find all (if not most) sorts of organic products here. One of the massive problems is cars driving through the crowded market during Wednesday baazar. I hope Dimapur traffic look into the matter soon. I wish (at least) on Wednesdays, no vehicles should be allowed to drive through the crowded market.
Well maintained with fresh veggies for the main feature. The sellers are often very friendly and approachable. Rates for non-stated items by the DMC are also reasonably pocket friendly. If youre looking for potty pots for plantation, this is a good option to start a garden of yours too. Do visit if you havent 😌🙈
You get everything you want at the market_Lot of fresh fruits & all types of vegetables_ greens mainly available here_They are all extremely fresh though you may need to bargain a little at times as the vendors quote high price_Also there are shops selling flowers & garlands_Over all_ it wont fail to satisfy the customers_
There is nothing quite like the sensory experience of a trip to a market. The sights, sounds and smells assault the senses in a way far removed from the comfort of our homes, and it is where visitors are most likely to get a glimpse into how the locals live and interact in everyday life. There are a number of local markets in Dimapur where you can find great local produce, authentic food, and enjoy soaking up the atmosphere of laidback Naga life. Which market is best for you depends on which day of the week and what exactly it is you want to find.On Wednesdays, the focus shifts to the open market at Supermarket Complex. In addition to the local vegetables, fruits and meats, varieties of locally grown rice and grains, Wednesday market also feature numerous local artisans selling their handicrafts- decorative wood art, practical woven baskets, Daos (machetes), aluminum pots and pans etc. Street food vendors dot the place, giving market goers options ranging from puri sabji to galho. For those with an adventurous palate, local delicacies like snails, woodworms, bees, white rats which are supposedly good for asthma, and even dog meat are available on a regular basis. If you’re an urban gardener or a houseplant enthusiast, Wednesday Market has you covered. From the ubiquitous bougainvillea to the riveting little cacti and succulents, plant lovers from all over town flock to the market in search of something rare, unusual or collectible.#localbazaar #localmade #madeinnagaland #explorenagaland #discovernagaland #discovernagalandwithlisted #wednesdaybazaar #localmarkets #organicvegetables #organic

Dimapur is the largest city in Nagaland, India. Contrary to popular belief, the citys formation in Nagaland is separate from that of Assam. In the Middle Ages, it was the capital of the Dimasa Kachari Kingdom. In the heart of the town there is an old relic of the Kachari Kingdom which speaks about the once prosperous era. It is located at 25°54′45″N 93°44′30″E and is bounded by Kohima district on the south and east, Karbi Anglong district of Assam (The Lalung - Tiwa Hills) on the west, the Karbi Anglong and stretch of Golaghat District of Assam, in the west and the north. The name Dimapur is derived from the Dimasa language]; Di means water, ma means large and pur (sanskritised word) means city, translating to Big-river-city, associated with the meaning of Kachari which is people of the river valley and after the river which flows through it (Dhansari). It is also the gateway to Nagaland and its only railhead. The city also has the only functional airport in the state.[2]Situated on the banks of the Dhansiri, (originally known as Dong-siri meaning a ravine of peaceful habitation) Dimapur, often described as the ‘Brick City’ by European scholars and also by the Ahoms, was the ancient capital of the Dimasa Kachari community and an independent nation of the Dimasa, who were once a powerful and predominant race in the Entire North-East India region (Brahmaputra/Kamrup valley). There are two accounts of the way in which Dimapur got its name : many writers are of the opinion that the name ’ Dimapur’ was derived from Dimasa Kachari words Di-meaning water, Ma-meaning big and Pur-meaning city or township in the Dimasa dialect; while others contend that Dimapur is a corruption of Hidimbapur, meaning the city of Hidimbi (of Mahabharata fame) - the rakshasi-turned-woman whose marriage to the Pandava prince Bhima led to the birth of Ghatotkacha - believed to be the progenitor of the Kacharis. According to the second theory, the name Hidimbapur is conjectured to have been abbreviated to Dimbapur and subsequently to have lost a consonant to become Dimapur. In some accounts preserved in Dimasa Kachari folklore Dimapur is called Dimabang Halali, possibly an earlier name of the city, later Sanskritised. In the Ahom Chronicles, Dimapur Is referred to sometimes as ‘Che-din-chi-pen’ (town-earth-burn-make) meaning ‘brick town’ and at others as Che-Dima’ meaning town of the Dimasa.[4]Ahoms, never had such structures at the time. Dimpur marked a progressive point in the history of the lineage of the Mech/Mechha Dynasty(un-sanskritised heritage of the Kacharis). Inside the fortified city, there were seventeen ornamental stone pillars. These funerary monuments were decorated with carvings of foliage, flowers, familiar animals and birds but nowhere with any human images - such as those of gods and goddesses. This suggests that the Dimasa Kacharis were free of Hindu influence at that time.[original research?] These monoliths are believed to be lineal monuments of the ruling kings of Dimapur. The largest of them was seventeen feet high and twenty four#lets guide

Quite a reliable place to visit and buy good stuffs.
The best place to buy local and indigenous vegetables and food items of the Nagas. You can buy groceries for your kitchen. There is also a corner where you get Indian snacks here. You can buy fresh fruits here. As you stroll along the long expanse of the supermarket area, you will find beauty parlors, showrooms of traditional Naga attire, hotels and small restaurant. You can also buy second hand clothes here. This place is a mixture of different shops. You can save your time by coming here and buying most of your shopping list at one go.
