The Raghabeshwar Shiva Temple is made of terracotta and the Shivalinga is made of kashtipathar.It was established in 1669 in Dignagar or Dirghika Nagar founded by Raghab Roy, grandson of Bhavananda Majumdar, founder of Nadia dynasty. In the beginning, a pair of Shiva temples were built. Only this temple survives now. And there was a huge lake, from which the city was named Dirghika.

This is lovely and historical place.

It is a very old temple made of terracotta. This is a temple for lord Shiva locally known as Raghabeshwar. During the occasion of Mahashivaratri many devotees come here to offer prayers to Mahadev. This temple is also an example of old architecture of Bengal mainly adopted during the Sen dynasty.

This temple was established under the patronage of Raja Krishnachandra Roy of Krishnanagar. During Shivaratri, locals still offer puja in this shiva temple. There is a garden surrounding the temple.

Har Har Mahadev 🔱

This small and beautiful temple of Mahadev is located at Dignagar, just eleven kilometers away from Krishnanagar, the headquarters of Nadia district. Residents of the surrounding area find the temple very awake. It was built many years ago by Raja Raghav Chandra Roy, the grandfather of King Krishna Chandra Roy of Nadia. Since then it has been called Raghabeshwar Temple. The temple has the imprint of Bishnupur in its technique and is a heritage site.

This temple built during the rule of the Pala dynasty in Bengal. This beautifully designed temple on the wall of the Ectala temple.
